What the Beko BFR630DX is
The BFR630DX launched in July 2017 as a stainless-steel, four-door refrigerator for the Australian market. Beko’s product sheet calls it a “626 L Stainless Steel Four Door Fridge with Internal Water & Automatic Ice.” The company warns that specifications may change without notice, so the rating plate and installation documentation supplied with a particular appliance take precedence.

The headline 626 L figure is gross capacity. The more useful net capacity is 531 L after internal fittings and insulation are accounted for. That usable space is divided between a 376 L refrigerator section and a 155 L freezer section. A 77 L lower-right Multizone compartment can be configured as either a refrigerator or a freezer, allowing the split to follow your shopping pattern.

When comparing this model with another large refrigerator, compare net litres rather than gross litres. Also check whether the competing model counts a convertible drawer in its refrigerator or freezer total; otherwise a seemingly small capacity difference can be misleading. Door-bin and drawer shapes matter as much as litres: tall bottles, wide trays and frozen pizza boxes should be measured against the actual interior before purchase.

Water dispensing and automatic ice
The BFR630DX uses an internal, plumbed water dispenser rather than an external door dispenser. It also has an automatic ice maker rated by Beko at up to 2.5 kg of ice per day. Those features require a suitable water connection at the installation site. Confirm the required hose, shut-off valve, pressure and local plumbing rules with the installer; the refrigerator’s presence of a dispenser does not remove those requirements.
Internal dispensing keeps the outside of the door visually cleaner, but you must open the refrigerator to fill a glass. Check the dispenser reservoir and filter arrangements in the manual for your exact model-family variant before buying replacement consumables. Water quality, inlet pressure and freezer temperature can all reduce practical ice output, so the 2.5 kg figure should be treated as a maximum published rating rather than a daily promise.
Dimensions, clearances and delivery
Beko lists the unpackaged appliance at 1,821 mm high, 908 mm wide and 702 mm deep including the doors. The same sheet separately gives a 600 mm cabinet depth. These numbers describe the appliance, not the space a safe installation needs.

Do not design a tight cavity around the 600 mm cabinet-depth figure or assume the 702 mm door-inclusive depth is the maximum space required.
Measure before accepting delivery
- Measure the finished cavity height, width and depth, including skirting boards, benchtops and wall irregularities.
- Allow the manufacturer or installer’s recommended ventilation space rather than only the cabinet dimensions.
- Draw the full door and drawer swing on the floor. Four doors and lower drawers need clearance in front and at the sides.
- Measure every delivery obstacle: gates, hallways, lifts, stair turns and the final doorway. Record the narrowest point after removing doors or trim that can legally be removed.
- Plan the water connection before the appliance arrives, including a reachable isolation valve.
The BFR630DX is heavy and wide enough that delivery access can be the deciding factor. Get written confirmation from the retailer or carrier about door removal, stair handling and reconnection of the water line. Leave enough room to pull the cabinet forward for cleaning or service; a refrigerator that fits only when pushed hard against a wall is not practically installed.
Cooling system, controls and preservation claims
Beko specifies electronic controls, frost-free cooling, NeoFrost dual cooling and a ProSmart Inverter compressor. NeoFrost is intended to separate the refrigerator and freezer air systems, while frost-free operation avoids routine manual defrosting. The product sheet does not provide independently verified temperature-stability results, recovery times or noise measurements.

The refrigerator includes an Everfresh+ crisper and Active Fresh Blue Light. Beko claims Everfresh+ keeps produce fresh “up to 3 times longer than normal,” citing SGS comparisons on broccoli and lettuce against a standard crisper. It also claims produce is “up to 30%” better preserved with Active Fresh Blue Light, citing FRPERC and TÜBİTAK tests on tomatoes and red and green peppers. These are manufacturer claims with specific test products and comparison conditions; they should not be treated as a guarantee for every food or household.

Do not block air outlets with containers, leave space around newly loaded warm food and keep the crisper settings appropriate to the produce. A convertible compartment is useful only if you allow time for it to reach its new target temperature rather than treating the mode button as an instant changeover.
How to use the Multizone effectively
- Use the compartment as a freezer when you need extra frozen-food capacity for bulk purchases.
- Switch it to refrigerator mode when fresh-food capacity is more valuable, such as during entertaining or a large weekly shop.
- Allow the compartment to complete its temperature change before loading delicate food; the manual for your exact variant gives the operating sequence and waiting guidance.
- Keep an inventory when changing modes so frozen items are not forgotten during a refrigerator conversion.
Energy use and electrical requirements
Beko lists a 2.5-star energy rating and claimed annual consumption of 605 kWh. The rating and consumption are Australian-market figures from the product documentation, not a guarantee of a particular household’s bill. Actual use varies with ambient temperature, door opening frequency, loading, temperature settings and the use of the ice maker.
To estimate running cost, multiply 605 kWh by your current electricity tariff and state the tariff and billing period. For example, a tariff of A$0.30 per kWh would imply about A$181.50 per year before demand charges or other fees, but that is an illustrative calculation rather than a measured BFR630DX cost. At A$0.40 per kWh, the same published consumption would be about A$242 per year. Compare like-for-like label figures when considering alternatives; a larger or older appliance can cost more to run even if its purchase price is lower.
The electrical specification is 220–240 V, 50 Hz, with a maximum current intensity of 0.80 A. The refrigerant is R600a. Use a properly earthed outlet and follow the supplied installation instructions; do not use an extension lead unless the installation documentation and a qualified electrician explicitly permit it. R600a is flammable, so refrigerant-circuit work belongs with an appropriately qualified technician.

What independent testing actually shows
CHOICE records a 2019 test year for the BFR630DX and lists the model as discontinued. Its public page exposes the model identification, visible specifications, listed price and test year, but the expert rating and detailed results for temperature stability, evenness, freshness, noise and running cost are members-only. There is no defensible public score from that page to quote, and the existence of a review does not indicate whether the refrigerator performed well or poorly.

CHOICE lists A$2,999 on the review page. That is the page’s listed price, not a current offer or evidence that new Australian stock remains available. Treat it as historical context when assessing a used asking price. A seller asking close to that figure should be able to demonstrate excellent condition, complete accessories and credible service history; otherwise the age and discontinued status deserve a substantial discount.
Availability and whether a used BFR630DX is sensible
Because the model is discontinued, availability, warranty eligibility and service support depend on the individual appliance and seller. A used unit can make sense if the price reflects its age and you can verify operation, plumbing and parts support. It is a riskier purchase if you need guaranteed delivery of cosmetic panels, electronic boards or ice-maker components.
Ask for the original receipt, installation date and any warranty-registration record. Confirm that the serial plate is legible and that the seller is not describing a different Beko four-door model as a BFR630DX. Include removal and transport costs in the budget: a very large refrigerator can require specialist handling, and an apparently cheap unit may become expensive once delivery, plumbing and a replacement filter are added.
Used-unit inspection checklist
- Photograph the model and serial plate and match it to the seller’s paperwork.
- Run the refrigerator and freezer for long enough to confirm both compartments cool, the Multizone changes mode and no persistent alarms appear.
- Test every door seal, drawer runner, shelf support and hinge. Look for torn gaskets, cracks and water damage.

- Listen for unusual compressor cycling, fan rubbing or repeated clicking from the control system.
- Inspect the rear for corrosion, crushed tubing or evidence of an improvised repair.
- Ask when the appliance was last defrosted or serviced and whether the ice maker, water filter or control board has been replaced.
- Check that all shelves, bins, ice trays and covers are present; missing proprietary fittings can be difficult to replace.
Do not assume a remaining compressor warranty covers the whole refrigerator. Beko’s product sheet describes a two-year manufacturer warranty, three additional years by registration and 10 years on the inverter compressor, subject to terms and conditions. Registration requirements, transferability and regional eligibility must be verified for the specific Australian unit.
Manuals, maintenance and troubleshooting
The available manual is labelled for the BFR630DX and related models. It covers installation, electrical connection, energy-saving preparation, indicator panels, fresh- and frozen-food handling, the Multizone compartment, water dispensing, cleaning and troubleshooting. Because it is a model-family manual, check that the diagrams and control labels match your exact appliance.
Beko’s model-number search and parts resources are useful when the paper manual is missing. Record the full model designation and serial number before contacting support; photographs of the control panel and damaged component can prevent an incorrect variant being supplied.

- Keep the condenser and ventilation area clear according to the manual’s cleaning instructions.
- Wipe spills promptly, especially around drawer rails and the water-dispenser area.
- Replace filters only with a part identified for your exact model and water system.
- Keep door seals clean and close doors fully; a misaligned drawer can prevent a seal from seating.
- After a power interruption, check food temperatures before relying on appearance or smell alone.
- Shut off the water supply before disconnecting an inlet hose or filter housing, and inspect for drips after reconnecting.

Use the exact model and serial number when asking Beko or an authorised service provider about shelves, drawers, filters, inlet components, ice-maker parts or electronic modules. Avoid ordering by appearance alone: four-door models often have left- and right-hand versions with different fittings.
