How to assess a second-hand Edge 4 Lite
Australian regulations set mandatory requirements for prams and strollers, including design, construction, performance, testing, warnings and labelling. The ACCC’s category-level overview identifies a parking device and tether strap, and a permanently attached harness for strollers. - Check whether the stroller has been recalled and whether it meets the mandatory standard.
- Make sure its instructions are present and all parts are included and working.
- Inspect the frame, locks, harness and other parts for damage, looseness or fraying; check that frame locks work.
- Test that the parking brake operates and use the tether strap as directed.
- Check the safety labels and harness, including the required warning: “DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED”.
When using it, harness and supervise the child, apply the brake when parked, and keep bags off the handle. Do not assume a stroller that looks intact is safe without checking its working parts and instructions.

If a child falls asleep in one, its guidance is to fully recline the backrest, keep the child harnessed, remove soft items, check frequently, and avoid leaving the child for a long time or unsupervised.
