Choose the Beats 360 if you want a published IPX4 sweat-and-water-resistance rating and interchangeable cushions; choose the Sony WH-1000XM6 if you value its documented LDAC and LC3 codec support, multipoint, detachable audio cable, or lower listed weight. The official US listings checked on October 4, 2026, priced the Beats at $349.99 and the Sony at $459.99, but those prices can change. Neither the available specifications nor the cited reviews establish an overall winner in a controlled head-to-head test.
How much do the Beats 360 and Sony WH-1000XM6 cost?
On October 4, 2026, the US manufacturer product pages listed the Beats 360 at $349.99 and the black Sony WH-1000XM6 at $459.99. That made the Beats $110 less on those pages that day; it is a dated listing comparison, not a guarantee of current prices or a permanent price gap. Check the Beats product page and Sony US product page for current listings.

Which is better for workouts and sweat?
The Beats has the clearer documented case for exercise: its manufacturer lists an IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating, plus detachable, interchangeable earcup and headband cushions. IPX4 indicates resistance to splashes; it does not mean the headphones are waterproof or suitable for immersion. Optional cushion kits are sold separately, and their current price and availability should be checked with Beats.

That omission is not proof that the headphones cannot tolerate any moisture, but it gives buyers no published rating on that page to compare with Beats’ IPX4. The Beats’ replaceable cushions may also be useful for personalization or replacement; whether that matters depends on your use and the separately purchased kits available.

How do their battery claims compare with noise canceling on?
These are manufacturer figures with different stated conditions, not results from a matched test. Beats claims up to 32 hours with both ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled. Sony specifies up to 30 hours of continuous music playback with noise canceling on, and up to 40 hours with it off. Actual playback can vary with settings and use; the figures alone do not establish which will last longer for a particular listener.
How do weight and connection options differ?
| Feature | Beats 360 | Sony WH-1000XM6 |
|---|---|---|
| Published weight | 294.5 g (10.39 oz), per Beats | Approximately 8.96 oz (about 254 g by conversion), per Sony |
| Bluetooth | Bluetooth 5.3 | Bluetooth 5.3 |
| Listed audio codecs or formats | A complete comparable codec list is not established by the cited Beats page | SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 |
| Multipoint | Not established by the cited Beats page | Listed by Sony |
| Wired audio | The cited Beats page does not establish the full wired-listening behavior | Detachable, single-sided stereo mini-jack cable; stereo mini-jack input; passive operation listed by Sony |
Weights and connection details come from the respective manufacturers’ pages: Beats and Sony. Sony’s weight is explicitly approximate. Its codec and cable documentation gives it an evidence-based advantage if those particular options matter to you; it does not, by itself, prove better sound quality.

What do they offer across Apple and Android devices?
Beats says the 360 works with Apple and Android devices and offers Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, Transparency mode and Adaptive EQ. The manufacturer notes that some functionality may be limited with older Apple software and non-Apple devices. Its page lists nine microphones in total—eight for ANC and three for voice pickup, with two shared—alongside a custom-designed dual-magnet dynamic driver. These are Beats’ descriptions and specifications, not independent comparative performance results.

Sony’s cited specification page documents Bluetooth codecs, multipoint and its wired options. Those are concrete compatibility considerations, but they do not establish which headphones will sound, fit or work better with your own phone. Check the features you rely on against your device and the manufacturers’ current documentation before buying.

What do independent reviews establish about sound, ANC and comfort?
TechRadar’s hands-on report discusses the Beats’ fit, sound, ANC and modular cushions, and reports a measured weight of 295.4 g. Tom’s Guide’s Beats 360 review also discusses its ANC and battery performance and frames it as workout-friendly. These are publication-specific impressions about the Beats, not controlled comparisons with the XM6.
No cited source tests both models under shared conditions for noise cancellation, sound, calls, comfort or workout fit. The manufacturers’ specifications can guide feature choices, but they cannot settle those performance comparisons. Sony’s May 15, 2025 announcement describes its noise cancellation and three-minute charge for up to three hours of listening as Sony claims; that announcement is not a direct test against Beats.
