The Beatbot Sora 30 and iSkim split pool cleaning between two robots. The Sora 30 is an underwater cleaner for the pool floor, walls, waterline and qualifying shallow platforms. The iSkim is a floating surface skimmer. Whether that split makes this the best cleanup crew for your pool depends on your pool’s shape, depth and water chemistry, and on which chores you want to stop doing by hand. Beatbot’s specifications set the boundaries of what the pair is designed to do. The only independent hands-on test we can point to covers the iSkim alone, so this review keeps manufacturer claims and observed results clearly separate.
What each robot is responsible for
Beatbot positions the two machines as a division of labor rather than two versions of the same cleaner. The Sora 30 handles everything below the water line that it is rated for, and the iSkim handles the surface, where leaves, pollen and insects collect. The table below lists the values that are stated for each device and who stated them.

Most buying questions about this system come down to whether a pool fits the Sora 30’s stated limits. Beatbot’s figures are the starting point, and its product manual and support team have the final word on unusual setups.
#1 Best Overall
- Smart Water‑Surface Parking & One‑Touch Retrieval: The pool robot automatically rises to the surface when cleaning finishes or battery is low (<12%). It returns and parks at the pool edge, releases internal water for easy lifting, and stays floating. With one tap in the Beatbot app, you retrieve it effortlessly, no heavy lifting or dangerous pole fishing. Safe for all ages and easy on your back.
- Huge 6800 GPH Suction Power - HydroBalance Structure delivers industry-leading suction power that captures heavy debris like leaves in a single pass without clogging. Pro-results without the wait.
- Shallow-Water & Platform Cleaning - Our pool robot cleans all pool types, using ultrasonic sensors to identify ledges, platforms, and shallow areas down to 8 inches. No manual touch-ups required.
- Cleans Large Pools in One Session - Powered by a 10,000 mAh battery, our pool vacuum delivers up to 5 hours of continuous floor cleaning, covering up to 3,229 sq. ft. per charge. No interruptions.
- 5L Debris Capacity & 150 µm Filtration - Captures more debris per cycle with less emptying required. The 150 µm filter efficiently traps everyday debris to keep your pool clean and clear.
- Platform depth: Beatbot’s product material says the water must be over 8 inches deep for platform cleaning. That is a minimum for the platform feature, not a maximum working depth. Check the manual for the robot’s full working depth range before buying.
- Platform size: The platform must be at least 3.3 feet by 3.3 feet, according to the Sora 30 product FAQ.
- Pool type: Beatbot lists compatibility with both above-ground and in-ground pools.
- Surface material: Several pool materials are listed. If your liner, tile or finish is unusual, confirm it against the manual.
- Saltwater: Beatbot states saltwater use is supported below 5,000 ppm. If your system runs at or above that level, the Sora 30 is outside the stated support range.
- Unusual geometry: Irregular shapes, unusual steps or non-standard depth profiles should be confirmed with Beatbot support before purchase. The product material does not promise compatibility for every shape.
Beatbot’s “Will it work for my pool shape?” question therefore has no blanket yes. The answer depends on the checklist above and on the manual for your model.
Runtime and coverage: what the numbers mean
Beatbot’s FAQ gives up to five hours of runtime for floor-only cleaning and 4.5 hours when cleaning the floor, walls and waterline. Those figures come from laboratory test data that Beatbot reports. They are manufacturer numbers, and no independent measurement of them has been published. The product overview adds that real cleaning coverage and time vary with the environment and conditions, so a pool with heavy debris, a large surface or a complex layout will not necessarily match the laboratory result.

- Extreme 6800GPH Suction Power: Powerful 4-motor system generates an impressive 6800 GPH flow rate, creating superior suction power that handles everythings. Featuring the innovative HydroBalance Structure—a center-mounted pump design that minimizes water flow resistance and turbulence, greatly improving cleaning performance. The dual 130mm brushes create an extra-wide 260mm cleaning path, while the bottom-hugging design ensures optimal suction contact with all surfaces.
- Precise Cleaning for Platforms & Shallow Areas: The M1 can identify and clean every accessible surface in your pool. The intelligent system actively seeks out platforms and shallow areas as low as 20cm deep that other cleaners simply cannot reach. Using two ultrasonic sensors and real-time obstacle detection, it systematically covers floors, walls, waterlines, and surfaces without getting stuck or missing critical areas.
- SonicSense Obstacle Avoidance: Dual ultrasonic sensors deliver collision-free cleaning. The front sensor detects walls, steps, and fixtures for safe edge approach, while the bottom sensor reads slopes and angles for smart wall-climbing. Unlike bumper-reliant cleaners that get stuck or cause damage, this system prevents collisions by calculating optimal paths around ladders, drains, and lights.
- Powered by an industry-leading 10,000mAh battery system: The pool robot delivers unmatched endurance for complete pool cleaning in a single session. The intelligent power management allows for up to 5 hours of continuous floor cleaning, easily covering pools up to 3,200 sq ft (300m²). Pool owners can start the cleaner and walk away, confident that their entire pool will be thoroughly cleaned without interruption, regardless of pool size or debris load.
- Smart Water Surface Parking: Unlike conventional cleaners that sink to the bottom and require dangerous fishing with long poles or heavy lifting from deep water, this automated parking system transforms robot retrieval from a challenging chore into a simple, effortless task that's safe for users of all ages and physical capabilities, ensuring optimal convenience while protecting your back and joints from injury.
The iSkim figures come from a different kind of source. Mark Spoonauer reported in Tom’s Guide on July 8, 2026 that the iSkim surface-cleaned his pool in under an hour, and that larger pools might take up to two hours. Those are one reviewer’s observations in one setup. They are useful as a sense of scale, not as a guaranteed time for your pool.

- Default filter: The Sora 30 ships with a 150 micrometer filter by default, according to Beatbot.
- Finer filtration: An ultra-fine Sora 30 basket is listed as an optional accessory. It is not stated to come in every package, and its availability at individual retailers should be checked before you assume you can get it.
- Mode changes: Beatbot says the Sora 30 can switch to another cleaning mode through the app, but only while it is at the water surface. Mode changes made while the robot is on the pool floor or wall are not supported.
What the hands-on reviewer saw
Tom’s Guide’s Mark Spoonauer tested the iSkim and updated his review on July 8, 2026. He reported that it surface-cleaned his pool in under an hour. He also said that the iSkim tried to ingest his floating pool thermometer despite its obstacle avoidance. The practical lesson is to keep loose floating items, such as thermometers, toys and small inflatables, out of the water while the skimmer runs.

Is a second robot worth it?
The right setup depends on which chores you want to automate. Three profiles cover most buyers.
Rank #4
- Huge 6800 GPH Suction Power : The HydroBalance Structure delivers industry-leading 6,800 GPH suction. As a high-performance pool cleaner, it effortlessly captures large leaves, heavy sand, and debris without clogging for a professional-grade clean.
- Up to 300 Mins Cleaning: Powered by a 7,800mAh battery, the Sora delivers up to 300 minutes of continuous floor cleaning, covering pools up to 3,229 sq.ft (300㎡) on a single charge. Intelligent power management ensures complete cleaning in one session—no interruptions, no multiple charges—letting you relax while your pool is thoroughly cleaned.
- 3-Zone & Shallow-Water Platform Cleaning : Cleans the floor, walls, and waterline with specialized shallow-water cleaning down to 12 inches. This pool robot vacuum is perfect for tanning ledges and sun shelves where traditional robots often fail.
- Smart Waterline Parking : Automatically returns and parks at the waterline at the end of the cleaning cycle and stays positioned for 10 mins. Effortless retrieval. No heavy lifting. No fishing it out.
- 5L Debris Capacity & Pro Filtration : The extra-large 5L basket holds up to 650 leaves, reducing emptying frequency. Features a 150 µm filter for daily debris and supports a 3 µm ultra-fine filter (sold separately) for microscopic particles.
Bottom and wall only
If your main problem is silt, algae on walls and the waterline, the Sora 30 addresses that job on its own, provided your pool meets the platform and chemistry limits above. You will still need to manage surface debris yourself, which is the part the iSkim is designed to handle.
Surface only
If leaves and insects are the main chore, the iSkim addresses that job on its own. The Tom’s Guide reviewer questioned whether a robot at list price was worth it when manual skimming with a net takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes at a time. That framing was written in July 2026, when the reviewer cited a $499 list price and a $369 sale price at Amazon. Those figures are specific to that moment and that market, so check current pricing before deciding. The reviewer’s manual-skimming time is also his own estimate.
Best Value
- Full Pool Coverage: Covers every inch—water surface, waterline, floor, walls, and shallow areas as low as 8 inches.
- Advanced Surface Cleaning: The industry-first JetPulse system uses dual water jets to create four streams that guide leaves and other surface debris straight into the suction inlet. Fast and precise.
- Long-Lasting Battery: Powered by a 10,000 mAh battery, it runs up to 5 hours on floor cleaning and covers up to 3,200 sq. ft. per charge. More cleaning, fewer recharges.
- Smart Surface Parking & One-Touch Retrieval: Automatically surfaces, parks at the pool edge, drains internal water for easy lifting, and stays afloat. Tap once in the Beatbot app to bring it back.
- Powerful Suction: The HydroBalance Structure delivers 6,800 GPH of suction, picking up heavy debris in a single pass without clogging.
Both robots
Owners who want surface and underwater cleaning to run in parallel are the audience Beatbot pitches the pair to. Running both devices means the floor, walls and surface can be handled without you choosing which to skip. That is the case for the pair. It does not show that two robots outperform one robot, or that the bundle beats other systems on the market.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Warranty, returns and buying checks
- Warranty: The bundle page lists a two-year warranty for the Sora 30 and a three-year warranty for the iSkim.
- Returns: The bundle page lists 30-day return terms for qualifying direct purchases. Dealer sales may have different terms, so check the seller’s policy before buying.
- Stock and delivery: When the bundle page was accessed, it displayed a preorder and shipping notice. Do not rely on any stock, price or delivery date without rechecking the listing at purchase time.
- Exact contents: Verify the listing and its contents before buying. Tom’s Guide reported an Amazon offer for the standalone iSkim. That report does not confirm current Amazon availability of either the bundle or the standalone iSkim.
What the evidence does not establish
The available evidence supports a narrower claim than the title’s “best cleanup crew.” It shows that Beatbot designs the pair to split surface and underwater cleaning, and that Beatbot lists a shallow-platform capability with specific minimums. It does not establish:
- Independent hands-on results for the Sora 30 or for the two robots working together
- Real-world coverage across varied pools, shapes and debris loads
- Durability over multiple seasons
- Battery life outside laboratory conditions
- How the pair compares with competing brands or with a single robot from another maker
Until comparative and long-term testing exists, “best” describes Beatbot’s positioning for owners who want parallel cleaning, not a verdict this review can confirm.
