What is the Bear Elite Ultra Hybrid?
Bear describes the Elite Ultra as its most feature-rich hybrid mattress. Its listed construction combines foam, microcoils and zoned support coils, with an eight-inch coil support core. The company says the design is responsive and intended to make movement easier; those are product descriptions, not independent performance findings.

Bear lists eight construction components: a quilted Celliant infrared cover, cooling quilt foam, copper-infused memory foam, microcoils, responsive comfort foam, dynamic transition foam, zoned Ascension coils and DuraDense base foam. The queen is listed as 60 by 80 by 13.5 inches and 115 pounds. Twin, Twin XL, Full, King, California King and Split King are also listed; check the current product page for their dimensions and weights.
Bear says the mattress is fiberglass-free, GREENGUARD Gold certified and made with CertiPUR-US foam. The brand also says it is made in America using foreign and domestic components. These are claims on Bear’s product page; consult the certifiers’ current directories if independently confirming certification status matters to your decision.

Which firmness should you choose?
Bear offers three options and rates them on a 10-point firmness scale. Its position guidance is a starting point, not a guarantee: individual comfort depends on body shape, weight, sleeping habits and preference.

Bear positions the Elite Ultra for people who sleep hot, want a more responsive feel or seek pressure relief. It also says the mattress may not suit people who want deep, slow all-foam contouring or heavier sleepers who sleep strictly on their stomach. Treat these as the manufacturer’s fit guidance rather than a personal-fit assessment.

Does the Bear Elite Ultra sleep cool?
CoolForce, Bear’s phase-change cooling layer, is included on the Elite Ultra. Bear says the layer draws heat away and cites a result of sleeping “up to 4 degrees cooler for 12 hours.” The product-page excerpt does not explain the test method well enough to assess that figure independently, so it should not be read as a guaranteed temperature change.
Bear’s cooling FAQ says the experience can vary with room temperature, bedding, mattress-protector use and personal body temperature. Bear describes Celliant as converting body heat to infrared energy and associates it with recovery benefits. The product page also cautions that results from its referenced pilot study were not achieved by all participants and that further studies are warranted before drawing conclusions about Celliant’s sleep benefits. This is not a medical or recovery guarantee.
How it compares with the Bear Elite Hybrid
Bear’s 2026 model comparison lists both mattresses with Soft, Medium and Firm options, an eight-inch zoned coil system, a Celliant cover and copper-infused memory foam. The main construction distinction in Bear’s description is that the Elite Ultra has microcoils and includes CoolForce, while CoolForce is an optional upgrade on the Elite Hybrid. The Elite Ultra is 13.5 inches tall; the comparison does not establish the Elite Hybrid’s height here.

Bear’s product page is internally inconsistent: its detailed trial section describes 120 nights, with a 30-night break-in period before a return request, while badges and the FAQ on the same page say 365 nights. Because those statements conflict, confirm the exact trial duration and return conditions applying to your order at checkout and save the terms shown with the purchase.

What foundation does it need?
Bear recommends a firm, flat, sturdy foundation. Its stated compatible setups include a platform or frame with slats less than 5.5 inches apart, or an adjustable base. Bear says a box spring and slats spaced more than 5.5 inches apart are incompatible. Check your frame’s actual support surface and slat spacing before placing the mattress on it.
What does the warranty cover?
For eligible mattresses bought from Bear or an authorized retailer on or after February 1, 2025, Bear’s limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser while that person owns the mattress. Bear says coverage is for purchasers in the United States, excluding territories, or Canada, and is nontransferable. The policy describes years 1–10 as non-prorated and replacement charges from year 11 onward as prorated. Purchases before February 1, 2025 follow earlier terms; review the current warranty policy for eligibility and exclusions.
