Early footage of BeamNG.drive running on PS5 Pro hardware has drawn an enthusiastic reaction from Push Square, which credits YouTuber MuYe. That is an outlet’s impression of the footage, not an independent performance test or confirmation of a PS5 Pro-specific upgrade. BeamNG’s official announcement sets the PS5 release for 19 October 2026; as of 7 October 2026, the game has not yet launched on console.
What does the first PS5 Pro footage show?
Push Square reports that MuYe shared footage of BeamNG.drive running on PS5 Pro hardware and describes what it saw as “wildly impressive.” The clip is an early look, not a published technical analysis: the reporting does not establish a measured frame rate, resolution, image-quality comparison, or sustained performance result.

No reviewed source confirms that BeamNG.drive is enhanced specifically for PS5 Pro, requires Pro hardware, or has a defined performance target on the base console.
When does BeamNG.drive come to PS5?
BeamNG’s official announcement, published 24 September 2026, gives 19 October 2026 as the PS5 release date. That date is still in the future as of 7 October 2026. The announcement also expects PC version 0.40 to arrive around the PS5 release; it does not establish that the console and PC versions will launch with identical features.

What is BeamNG.drive, and why is its footage notable?
BeamNG.drive is a driving simulation built around deformable vehicle physics. In a developer-authored PlayStation Blog overview, BeamNG GmbH CEO Thomas Fischer describes vehicles as networks of nodes and beams that can flex, deform, or break in real time. He calls it “a driving sim unlike any other, powered by an uncompromising real-time soft-body physics engine.”
Fischer’s overview states that the physics engine updates at 2 kHz. Push Square separately reports a 240 Hz figure for vehicle components, but the sources do not explain how that figure relates to the developer’s engine-update rate. They should not be treated as interchangeable measurements.
The developer overview describes a dozen open-world maps, varied vehicle configurations and customization, missions including races and time trials, and Freeroam with optional simulated traffic. These are features described by the developer, not an exhaustive confirmation of what the final PS5 launch build will include.

BeamNG says VR and mods will not be supported at launch. It has not confirmed the timing or scope of longer-term feature parity across platforms. That leaves open what might be added later; it is not a promise that any particular PC feature will reach PS5.
Sony’s PS5 Pro announcement says enhanced features are available only in selected PS5 games and vary by game. Sony’s platform-level launch claims—67% more GPU compute units, 28% faster memory, and rendering up to 45% faster than the then-current PS5—do not establish a BeamNG.drive-specific benefit. They are not measurements of this game.

Should you buy a PS5 Pro for BeamNG.drive?
The footage report is not enough to justify buying Pro hardware for this game. The official release is for PS5 generally, and the available sources do not say a Pro console is required or confirm a game-specific Pro enhancement. Until BeamNG or Sony publishes those details, buyers should treat the footage as an early preview rather than evidence of how the game will compare across PS5 models.
Sony’s 2024 launch announcement listed PS5 Pro launch MSRPs of $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY including tax. Those are historical launch prices, not verified current retail prices. The sources reviewed also do not establish a final PS5 game price or confirm a physical game edition.
