If a Battlefield 6 event challenge is not counting, first determine which of three situations you have: the challenge is still locked behind a rank requirement, the challenge is a known tracking defect, or the counter completed but the reward has not appeared. Check the challenge’s eligibility message, search EA Forums for the exact challenge, and then follow the reward and missing-content checks below before assuming the event is permanently broken.
Identify what is actually failing
“Not tracking” can describe different problems, and each one needs a different response. A locked challenge is not a bug if the required rank has not been reached. A counter that remains unchanged after eligible activity may indicate a challenge-specific defect or a mismatch between the documented and in-game criteria. A completed counter with no visible item is usually a reward-delivery or display problem rather than a tracking problem.

Take a screenshot of the challenge name, its progress counter, the activity you completed, and any red eligibility message. The exact wording is useful when you compare your case with an official issue report or submit a new report.

EA’s challenge troubleshooting guidance says a red challenge screen or red pop-up means the player is not eligible yet. The required rank is displayed in the game’s challenge interface. Event challenges do not necessarily unlock for every player as soon as the event begins, so do not assume that an event label overrides the rank gate.

How to check
- Open the Battlefield 6 event or challenge screen.
- Select the challenge that appears unavailable or shows no progress.
- Look for a required-rank value and compare it with your current player rank.
- If the screen or selection produces a red message, treat that message as an eligibility result, not evidence that the counter is malfunctioning.
- Continue playing until you meet the displayed rank, then return to the same challenge details and verify that it is selectable.
Use the rank shown in your current game client. Do not rely on a screenshot, video, or forum comment that describes a different event configuration. Requirements can change with an event or update, while older posts may reflect another ruleset.
2. Check the exact challenge on EA Forums
When an eligible challenge does not advance, EA tells players to look for reports on EA Forums. Search using the challenge’s complete in-game name, not only a broad phrase such as “event tracking.” Also check recent Battlefield communications, because a matching report may identify a temporary outage, a criteria clarification, or an issue already being investigated.
How to interpret a matching report
- Exact challenge listed: EA says its team is aware of the reported issue and is looking into it. That confirms that other players have reported the same behavior, but it does not provide a guaranteed repair time.
- Only a similar challenge listed: Treat it as background information. A workaround for another challenge, playlist, or patch may not apply to yours.
- No matching report: Submit a forum report with the exact challenge name, your platform, the activity attempted, the progress shown before and after, and the approximate time it happened.
Do not convert an old forum thread or an individual player’s anecdote into a universal fix. A method that worked for a previous event can fail after a rules, playlist, or server change. The current report for the exact challenge is more useful than a generic list of historical workarounds.

A counter can appear stuck when the game is functioning according to criteria that differ from what a player remembers or what an external guide describes. Read the full challenge text in the current client and identify every condition: mode, map or playlist, action, weapon or class restriction, and whether the requirement must be completed in one match or across matches. Only count activity that satisfies the displayed conditions.
Use a controlled test
- Write down the current counter and target exactly as displayed.
- Choose the mode or playlist named by the challenge rather than a similarly titled alternative.
- Perform one clearly qualifying action, then finish the match if the challenge requires completed rounds.
- Return to the challenge screen and record whether the counter changed.
- Repeat once if the first result could have been affected by a connection drop or an interrupted match.
This test does not repair a server-side defect, but it separates an interpretation problem from a failure to record progress. If the activity plainly meets the current wording and the counter remains unchanged, preserve the before-and-after screenshots for a forum report.

4. Separate tracking from a reward that is merely late or hidden
If the progress counter reaches its target, stop repeating the qualifying activity and switch to reward checks. A completed challenge and a visible reward are separate stages. EA’s Battle Pass and events guidance recommends restarting the game, confirming that the correct EA Account is in use, and checking the appropriate Battle Pass section and tier. Rewards can take a few minutes or a relaunch to appear.
Reward visibility checklist
- Close and relaunch Battlefield 6 rather than leaving the game suspended.
- Confirm that the account currently signed in is the EA Account that earned the progress.
- Open the event or Battle Pass area named by the challenge and inspect the relevant tier, not only the general inventory screen.
- If the reward required a purchase or entitlement, verify that the transaction completed on the account and platform used to play.
- Allow a few minutes after the relaunch before checking the tier again.
Do not assume that an item is missing because it is not in the first inventory category you open. Event rewards may be displayed through the associated Battle Pass or event track, so inspect the section and tier tied to the challenge.
5. Check the event deadline
EA states that an event item must be earned during the event and that event rewards cannot be earned after the event finishes. This deadline applies even if you can still see an old challenge or its description in the interface. A challenge that was not completed before the closing time cannot be recovered by repeating the activity afterward.
Questions to answer
- Was the target reached before the event’s published end time?
- Did the final qualifying match finish before the event closed, or did it end afterward?
- Are you looking at a current event track or a cached screen from an event that has already ended?
If the counter completed before the deadline but the item is absent, follow the reward-visibility and missing-content checks. If the target was never reached before the deadline, the absence is consistent with EA’s event rules rather than evidence of a tracking bug.
6. Run the basic missing-content checks
For content that should have been granted but remains absent, EA’s missing-content guidance starts with simple account and service checks. These checks address delivery and synchronization problems; they do not make an ineligible challenge count.

- Restart the game and system. Exit Battlefield 6 completely, restart the console or PC, and sign in again.
- Confirm the account. Check the EA Account and platform profile currently connected to the game. Progress earned on another account will not appear on the account you are viewing.
- Check server status. A service interruption can delay entitlement or progression updates. Recheck the official status information before repeating the challenge.
- Review the event or Battle Pass tier. Look for the reward in the exact track associated with the completed challenge.
- Keep transaction details. If the missing item was paid content, retain the receipt, order number, platform, date, and account identifiers for support.
EA’s missing-content page says to contact support when qualifying content is still absent after its stated waiting period; that guidance identifies 24 hours for qualifying missing content. The 24-hour period is an escalation threshold for missing content, not a promise that every challenge-tracking issue will resolve within a day.

7. Use update history without assuming your case is fixed
Battlefield update notes show that progression problems have occurred before. Game Update 1.2.2.0 described a broad progression-consistency pass, including corrections for discrepancies between in-game and documented criteria across multiple Weekly and Daily challenges. The notes also specifically mention a Weekly Battle Royale challenge tracking safes correctly.
Those notes establish that criteria and progression defects can be corrected through updates. They do not prove that your particular event challenge is included, currently fixed, or unaffected by a new regression. Check the current challenge report and current patch communications rather than applying an old note as a diagnosis.
EA’s known-issues post for update 1.1.1.0 also warned that its list did not represent every known issue. That post is historical and incomplete by its own description. Use it as context for why an issue may not appear on an old list, not as the current Battlefield 6 bug catalog.
A practical decision path
Follow this sequence in order so that you do not lose time repeating an activity that cannot count.

- Red lock or red pop-up? Read the displayed rank requirement and work toward that rank.
- No lock, counter unchanged? Re-read the current criteria and run one controlled qualifying test.
- Still unchanged? Search EA Forums for the exact challenge and review current Battlefield communications.
- Matching report found? Monitor that report for updates; avoid presenting an old workaround as guaranteed.
- No matching report? File a report with the exact challenge name, platform, mode, attempted action, screenshots, and before-and-after counter values.
- Counter completed but reward absent? Restart, verify the EA Account, inspect the relevant Battle Pass tier, and confirm the event had not ended.
- Content still missing? Check server status and wait through EA’s stated missing-content period. If qualifying content remains absent after 24 hours, contact EA support with your evidence.
What information to include in a report
A precise report is easier to match with an existing issue than a post that only says “challenge broken.” Include:
- The exact challenge title as shown in the game.
- Your platform and the game version or update currently installed.
- Your player rank and whether the challenge screen showed a red eligibility message.
- The mode, playlist, map, weapon, class, or action used.
- The counter before the test, the activity completed, and the counter afterward.
- The date and approximate time, including your time zone if relevant.
- Screenshots or video showing the challenge wording and unchanged progress.
- Whether the event was still active when the activity was completed.
For missing rewards, add the completion time, the Battle Pass or event tier, the account used, and any purchase receipt. Remove passwords, payment-card numbers, and other sensitive credentials before posting.
Common mistakes that make the problem harder to diagnose
Repeating an ineligible challenge
If the game displays a rank gate, more matches will not bypass it. Confirm eligibility first.
Using criteria from an old guide
Challenge wording and progression rules can change. The current in-game description takes priority over an older video or forum post.

Update 1.2.2.0 documents specific progression corrections, not a permanent guarantee for all future challenges.

Restarting, confirming the account, and checking server status are quick ways to rule out common delivery problems before escalation.
When to contact EA support
Contact EA after the relevant waiting period when a qualifying reward or other entitlement is still absent, or when the official issue-checking path does not explain an eligible challenge that refuses to advance. Provide the evidence listed above and state whether you are reporting a counter that never moved or a reward that failed to appear after completion. Keeping those cases separate helps support route the problem to progression, entitlement, or account troubleshooting.
There is no hardware purchase, controller change, or new game copy that can make a rank-locked challenge eligible or repair a server-side progression defect. The useful remedies are confirming the requirement, checking the current issue status, allowing synchronization, and escalating with precise evidence when the official checks do not resolve the case.
