Batomon Showdown is a creature-collecting auto battler built around preparation rather than live reactions: assemble a team of up to six, then send it against a saved board in automatic combat. Its asynchronous format and merge-driven shop give it a distinct identity, though “hottest” is headline framing—not a verified market ranking.

What is Batomon Showdown?

Developer and publisher berrymint describes the game as a “Creature-collecting pvp async auto battler.” You collect Batomon, choose a trainer, build a team, and compete against other players’ saved team boards. The game launched on Steam for Windows on September 15, 2026. Steam listed it at $14.99 and showed a 91% Very Positive rating from 1,227 reviews when checked in 2026; both price and review count can change. Steam’s listing is the PC purchase route.

A paid Android edition is listed on Google Play. Its listing describes more than 100 Batomons and showed an update date of September 29, 2026. Check the Google Play listing for current availability and price.

Is Batomon Showdown live PvP?

No: its PvP is asynchronous, not a live match against an opponent making decisions at the same time. You fight saved, day-matched boards. A saved board can come from a human player; when the player pool is thin, prebuilt bot boards fill the gaps. That means your preparation and adaptation to the opponent’s formation matter, but you do not need to coordinate a session or react to live moves. The official rules page describes the format.

What happens in a run?

A run alternates between an untimed shop and automatic battles. You start with 10 lives. A loss costs 1 life on days 1–2, 2 lives on days 3–4, and 3 lives from day 5 onward. When your lives first reach zero, Second Chance returns you to 1 life and opens a reward event; if they reach zero again, the run ends. A normal run finishes at 10 wins or when you run out of lives. The official rules page sets out the run structure.

  1. Use the shop to buy, sell, reroll, and shape a team.
  2. Position up to six Batomon and choose a plan that fits the available offers and effects.
  3. Select Battle to resolve the fight automatically.
  4. Review the result and adjust your board and purchases for the next day.

Once you select Battle, there is no turn-by-turn tactical input during combat. The decisions are in the shop and formation.

How do the shop and merges work?

A normal day begins with five shop slots: four Batomon and one eligible Item while you still have an item use available. A standard reroll costs 3 gold, though free rerolls can avoid that cost. Three matching level-1 copies merge into a level-2 Batomon; two matching level-2 copies merge into level 3. Merging also opens a trinket gift. The official rules page explains these mechanics.

The useful question is not simply which creature is strongest in isolation. Consider whether the trainer, current offers, trinkets, item effects, and positions can support a coherent team before losses become more costly from day 5 onward.

How can automatic combat reward strategy?

Combat is automatic, but the outcome depends on what you set up beforehand. The rules describe start-of-battle effects, cooldown casts, ongoing effects, knockout triggers, and victory effects. Cooldown speed affects when abilities cast. At 30 seconds, sudden death begins: both sides take damage every half-second, with the damage increasing over time. Position can matter because effects may target a slot, a direction, or adjacent Batomon. The official rules page details battle timing and targeting.

  • Preparation: Shop decisions and positioning happen before combat; the battle itself is playback.
  • Build choices: Trainers, merges, trinkets, items, and trigger interactions shape team plans.
  • Opponent adaptation: Saved boards make formation reading and adjustment more relevant than reaction speed.
  • Run management: The 10-life start and rising loss costs make gold use and merge plans consequential.

What should you do in your first run?

  1. Learn the shop before chasing a perfect build. Note what is offered and whether copies can realistically combine into a merge.
  2. Spend with the life curve in mind. Rerolls cost 3 gold normally, so compare another search with buying a useful offer already in view.
  3. Build around interactions. Check how your trainer, trinkets, item, and Batomon effects work together, including their targets and timing.
  4. Arrange the board deliberately. Consider slot, directional, and adjacent-target effects rather than treating the six spaces as interchangeable.
  5. Inspect every battle result. Since you cannot intervene after Battle begins, use the playback to identify what to change in the next shop phase.

Where can you play it?

Steam lists a Windows version and is the clearest PC route. Google Play lists a paid Android edition. The developer’s itch.io page also identifies a browser demo, tags the game as Strategy, Auto Battler, and creature-collector, and reports an average session of about half an hour. That session figure refers to the demo, not necessarily the full game. Availability and store details may vary by region and can change.
