The official post confirms the three changes above, but it does not identify any of them as the issue behind the “After 3 Years” framing. It also does not say when any of the underlying problems began. Without a report or other reliable source connecting a particular bug to that timeline, it would be inaccurate to label the GOG Mac crash, the PS5 map-marker problem, or the beard appearance as a verified three-year-old issue.

Does this show live-service RPGs would leave bugs unfixed?

Update Baldur’s Gate 3 to the latest available version for your platform. Larian’s announcement identifies the patch as 4.1.1.7631656; it does not provide separate installation instructions or a technical workaround. The update is for owners of the game, not a reason to purchase another edition. Larian’s support page and official site list edition information, including the Physical Deluxe Edition, but that product is unrelated to receiving this hotfix.
