In a Regulation 30 disclosure dated April 7, 2026, Bajaj Electricals said it had received an adverse order dated March 27, 2026, from the Office of the Commissioner (Appeals), Central Excise, Customs & CGST, Jaipur. Those figures describe the authority’s demand as reported by the company; they are not an independent determination that the company owes the amount. The order was issued under Section 107 of the CGST Act, 2017, which covers appeals to an appellate authority.
Why does the headline say ₹6.27 crore when the filing says ₹3.45 crore?
The company disclosure located for the Jaipur appellate order states ₹3.45 crore, not ₹6.27 crore. No primary record identified for this order substantiates the ₹6.27 crore figure, so it should not be treated as established. The ₹31.53 lakh penalty is included in the reported ₹3.45 crore gross demand, not an additional amount to add to it.

A separate disclosure dated April 1, 2026, concerned a Madhya Pradesh assessment under Section 74 of the MPGST Act. It relates to a different order and does not verify the disputed ₹6.27 crore figure for the Jaipur appeal. The two matters should not be conflated. What is the dispute about?
Bajaj Electricals said the alleged short payment arose from a comparison of its GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns for FY 2018–19. GSTR-1 reports outward supplies, while GSTR-3B is a summary return used to report tax liability and make payment. A difference between the returns can prompt a tax authority to examine whether the tax reported and paid matches the underlying sales information; the disclosure does not provide transaction-level detail or independently explain the alleged mismatch.

The Jaipur appellate order followed an original assessment order dated April 30, 2024, issued by the Additional Commissioner, Jaipur under Section 73 of the GST law. Bajaj Electricals said its submissions were not considered by the appellate authority. That is the company’s characterization of the appeal process, not a separate finding in the available disclosure.

Has Bajaj Electricals appealed the GST order?
The April 7 disclosure says management was evaluating legal options, including an appeal before the appropriate appellate tribunal and/or a writ petition before the High Court. It does not confirm that the company subsequently filed either challenge. Nor does it establish whether a stay was granted, the demand was paid, or the order was later modified or set aside.

Accordingly, the reported demand remains an adverse appellate order as described in the company’s filing, with the later legal status not established by that disclosure.
