That is a dated offer, not confirmation that the price or stock is still available: check the live listing before buying. The deal report said 20% of the limited-price stock had been claimed at the time it was written. Its Prime Day framing was that early offers were live ahead of the main event, which was due to start the following Tuesday.
What the £930 discount gets you
The Aetherion Max is an ultra-short-throw projector designed to sit close to the wall or screen. What Hi-Fi?’s review, published 23 July 2026, describes a triple-laser DLP model that delivers native 4K through pixel shifting. AWOL Vision claims brightness of 3,300 lumens and image sizes up to 200 inches; those are product specifications cited by the review, not independent measurements in the deal report.

The review lists support for HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, along with Google TV, AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Miracast. Connections include three HDMI inputs and USB-C DisplayPort. Built-in speakers support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, though that does not mean they will satisfy every home-theatre setup.
Picture quality and practical trade-offs
What Hi-Fi? gave the projector a 5/5 for picture, praising its bright, vibrant, contrast-rich image. The review found it capable of working in ambient light while also producing convincing blacks and natural colour in a dark room. Its overall scores were 5 for picture, 4 for sound and 4 for features—one publication’s assessment, not a consensus rating.
#1 Best Overall
- Bright Room Ready, no Curtains Needed: 3,300 ISO Lumens of RGB triple-laser brightness delivers a vivid, color-accurate image in living rooms with ambient light, open-plan spaces, and soft daytime light — without blackout curtains or a dark room. 110% Rec.2020 color gamut produces lifelike greens, accurate skin tones, and saturated colors that LED TVs and lamp projectors cannot physically reproduce. Whether it's a family movie afternoon, a daytime sports match, or everyday streaming — the Aetherion Max laser tv performs in your room, as it is.
- Deep Blacks, Vivid Highlights: Powered by Noirscene System II, the Aetherion Max's industry-leading 7-level IRIS and EBL algorithm deliver up to 6,000:1 native contrast and 60,000:1 viewing contrast — making dark scenes look deeper and shadow detail sharper whether the lights are on or off. With Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision Gaming, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and Dynamic Tone Mapping, bright highlights stay balanced and low-light scenes keep their depth — so every movie and every game feels more cinematic at home.
- Staduim-scale Gaming and Sports: 1ms-class input latency at 240Hz keeps every frame sharp — whether you're deep in a competitive match or watching 90 minutes of live soccer on a 150-inch screen, fast-moving action stays blur-free and responsive. VRR, ALLM, and Dolby Vision Gaming deliver console and PC performance without compromise — connect PS5, Xbox Series X, and gaming PC simultaneously via 3× HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort 1.4a, no cable switching needed. Native 24/48/50FPS with MEMC preserves cinematic motion for movies and sports broadcasts. Every sprint, every shot, every last-minute goal — stadium-scale, at home.
- Watch Longer, Feel Less Fatigue: Industry-first Anti-RBE technology reduces 99.99% of rainbow-effect distractions in both 2D and 3D content — a level of eye comfort no other UST projector currently offers. TÜV-certified Harmful Light Reduction delivers a cleaner, gentler picture for all-day viewing — movie marathons, full match days, and back-to-back gaming sessions included. The Aetherion Max is built for the moments that bring everyone together, and built to last as long as those moments do.
- THE LIVING ROOM UPGRADE THAT FITS YOUR LIVING ROOM — 0.2:1 ultra-short throw ratio sits inches from the wall, no ceiling mount, no professional installation, setup complete in minutes. At 200 inches, it delivers a screen 6× larger than an 85-inch TV — at a fraction of the wall space. Pair with an ALR screen for clear, high-contrast images even under direct overhead lighting. Consumes up to 500kWh less electricity per year than a comparable large-screen TV based on 4 hours daily use — the display that pays for itself over time. This is the all-in-one laser TV replacement for modern living rooms.
The same review points to compromises worth weighing against the price:
- Setup: It lacks a sophisticated automatic image installation system, so getting the picture positioned and aligned may take more effort.
- Streaming: The review flags the absence of BBC iPlayer in its Google TV implementation.
- Rainbow effects and noise: Anti-rainbow processing may not be enough for particularly sensitive viewers and can add a whine.
- HDR settings: In Filmmaker Mode, bright highlights can clip unless Enhance Black Level is turned off; doing so can make blacks look greyer. Dolby Vision Bright may show mild shimmer and a green undertone, which the reviewer says largely disappears in Dolby Vision Dark.
- Audio: The built-in speakers impressed the reviewer compared with typical projector sound, but bass can feel strained, deep male voices may sound electronic, dialogue can seem to come from below the screen, and high volume can become harsh.
- 3D: The tested sample delivered detailed, clean playback, though judder could distract during action scenes. Individual results may differ.
Is it a good gaming projector?
What Hi-Fi? measured 9.7 ms of input lag with a 1080p/60Hz source in Game/PC mode, falling to just over 3 ms at 240Hz. The 240Hz figure applies to Full HD, not 4K. The review also warns that enabling AMD FreeSync VRR raises latency; on Xbox Series X, it can make output default to Full HD and SDR rather than 4K HDR. If you mainly want 4K HDR gaming, check the mode and output trade-offs before relying on VRR.

How it compares with the Hisense PX3-Pro
What Hi-Fi? named the Hisense PX3-Pro as a less expensive ultra-short-throw alternative. Its review said the PX3-Pro had been discounted to as little as £1,599 at some UK retailers during the July 2026 review period. That is not a current price quote, so check retailers for today’s offers.

The review called the Aetherion Max’s price and feature/performance mix a bargain by premium UST standards. That is the reviewer’s judgement, not an objective market-wide finding.
Do you need a separate screen?
No screen is identified as part of the Amazon projector deal. AWOL Vision sells 100- and 120-inch ambient-light-rejecting motorised floor-rising screens as separate options. What Hi-Fi? tested a 120-inch sample with the projector and said it made the picture substantially punchier and richer in bright rooms while holding up well in dark rooms. The review lists 1.3 gain, slightly above the neutral 1.0 level it says is usually recommended for accurate dark-room viewing. Choose a screen based on your room and preferred image size, and confirm its price and availability separately.

Should you buy at £2,569?
The reported £2,569 price is £930 below the Aetherion Max’s previous £3,499 price, but it remains a substantial purchase. The deal is most compelling if you want a premium ultra-short-throw projector with strong reviewed picture quality and can live with the installation effort, streaming omission and the gaming or audio qualifications above. If those trade-offs, or the total cost of a suitable screen, are deal-breakers, compare alternatives and verify their current prices rather than treating the July PX3-Pro figure as live.
