On PC, the most important checks are whether the computer meets the published requirements, the game is installed on an SSD, Ubisoft Connect is installed and signed in, and the Ubisoft account owns the game. PS5 and Xbox players need the platform-specific Ubisoft support path rather than PC instructions.
There is no publisher-confirmed fix that resolves every launch failure. Use the sequence below to separate an eligibility problem from a launcher, authentication, storage or game-file problem, then give Ubisoft reproducible evidence if the game still closes.

Start by identifying exactly what fails
“Won’t launch” can describe several different events. Write down which one you see before changing anything:
- The play button does nothing.
- Your storefront opens Ubisoft Connect, but the handoff stops.
- A splash screen appears and the game closes.
- The game reaches a loading screen and then crashes.
- An error mentions an account, ownership, authentication or digital-rights management.
- The title starts on one platform but not another.
Also record whether you are using a PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox, which storefront supplied the PC copy, the exact error wording, and whether Ubisoft Connect opens by itself. Those details determine which checks apply and give support a reproducible starting point.

Check PC eligibility before repairing software
Ubisoft’s published minimum target is 1080p at 30 frames per second on the Low preset with FSR2 Quality. The requirements below are the baseline for that target, not a promise of performance on every system.

Confirm Windows, DirectX and memory
- Open Settings > System > About and confirm that Windows is 64-bit. Check the edition and version against the current Ubisoft requirements page if your installation is heavily out of date.
- Press
Win, typedxdiag, and open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. The System tab should report DirectX 12. Save the report if support later asks for system information. - Open Task Manager > Performance > Memory and verify that at least 16 GB is available to Windows. The published baseline specifies dual-channel operation, so check your motherboard documentation or firmware utility if the memory mode is uncertain.
Check the graphics card and ReBAR condition
In Task Manager > Performance > GPU or Device Manager > Display adapters, identify the exact GPU model and dedicated video memory. A card below the listed classes is an eligibility issue, not a launcher setting that can be repaired. Intel Arc A750 is listed with Resizable BAR (ReBAR), so confirm that feature is enabled when using that GPU; without the stated configuration, you are not matching the published minimum.
Verify the SSD and free capacity
Open Settings > System > Storage and check the drive that contains the game. Steam’s requirement is explicitly an SSD, and Ubisoft lists 90 GB of storage. Leave additional headroom for downloads, updates and Windows temporary files rather than attempting an installation with only the exact requirement remaining. If the game is on a hard disk, move or reinstall it to an SSD before spending time on launcher repairs.

Confirm the PC launcher and ownership prerequisites
PC startup is not only a local executable. Ubisoft states that a Ubisoft account and the Ubisoft Connect application are required, and that the game must be present in that account’s library.
- Open Ubisoft Connect directly and sign in to the account that purchased or redeemed the game.
- Open the Games or library view and confirm that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora appears there. If it is missing, signing in with a different account is a more likely explanation than a damaged installation.
- Check that Ubisoft Connect is installed and allowed to complete its own update. Close it fully, reopen it, and wait for the library to finish loading before pressing Play.
- When launching from Steam or another PC storefront, let the storefront hand off to Ubisoft Connect instead of starting a copied executable from an unofficial location. The ownership check still occurs through the Ubisoft account.
Handle DRM and authentication messages safely
Ubisoft’s store page says Denuvo Digital Rights Management is automatically installed and required to launch this game. An error referring to DRM, authentication or ownership should therefore be treated as an account or launcher problem. Do not download an alleged DRM bypass, replacement executable or random DLL; those files can create new failures and do not establish legitimate ownership. Capture the exact message and use Ubisoft’s support route.
Use a disciplined PC troubleshooting order
Once the computer meets the baseline and the account and launcher are correct, work through these low-risk checks in order. Change one thing at a time so you can tell which action affected the symptom.

- Restart Windows. A full restart clears a stuck launcher handoff and ensures pending system changes are loaded. After signing in, open Ubisoft Connect first, then start the game from the library.
- Close duplicate sessions. In Task Manager, end a Ubisoft Connect or game process that remains after a failed launch, then reopen the launcher. Do not repeatedly click Play while an earlier process is still waiting in the background.
- Check storage again after updates. A patch can require more temporary space than the installed game. Make sure the SSD has room for the download and extraction process, not merely 90 GB before the update begins.
- Use your storefront’s file-check option if it provides one. A verify or repair command can replace an incomplete local file. The label and location differ between storefronts; this step does not fix a missing Ubisoft account, a DRM authorization failure or hardware below minimum.
- Install system and graphics updates from their official channels. Reboot after an update, then retest with the same launch path. If the problem started immediately after a particular update, note that timing for support instead of repeatedly changing versions.
- Run Ubisoft’s general PC troubleshooting guide. Ubisoft directs players with PC runtime trouble to that guide after the basic requirements and launcher checks. Follow its current instructions for your Windows version and record any step that changes the behavior.
Choose the branch that matches the symptom
Nothing happens when you press Play
Confirm that Ubisoft Connect is already signed in and that the game is visible in the library. Watch for a launcher window behind another application, then check Task Manager for a process that started and immediately disappeared. If there is no message, repeat the test after a restart and document the time, storefront and account state. A no-response symptom does not by itself prove that files are damaged.

The storefront opens Ubisoft Connect, then stops
This is a launcher handoff problem until proven otherwise. Start Ubisoft Connect manually, complete any pending update, verify the correct account and retry from the library. If ownership is present but the handoff still fails, include both storefront names and the exact sequence in your support report.
A splash screen appears and the game closes
Recheck GPU model, 8 GB video-memory class, DirectX 12 capability, Windows architecture and SSD placement. If those match, use the storefront’s file-check function and Ubisoft’s general troubleshooting guide. Record whether the crash occurs before a menu, because that timing helps distinguish initialization from a later loading failure.

The game crashes after loading begins
Confirm that the SSD has free working space and that the machine still meets the memory and graphics baseline while the game is running. Stop overlays or background applications only as a controlled test, then restore them if they are unrelated. Report the exact loading stage and whether the crash is repeatable; a crash that happens at the same point is more useful to support than a general statement that the game is unstable.
Console players: use the matching support route
The retrieved technical requirements are PC-specific. On PS5 or Xbox, verify that the console has finished installing the game and its updates, restart the console, and retry from the installed game tile. Record the console model, system-update state, game-update state and exact on-screen error. Then use Ubisoft’s platform-specific support topics rather than applying Windows, DirectX or Ubisoft Connect steps that do not exist on the console.
Escalate with evidence Ubisoft can reproduce
Ubisoft’s support hub asks players with PC runtime trouble to complete its general troubleshooting guide. If that does not resolve the launch failure, prepare a concise report instead of sending only “the game will not start.” Include:

- Platform and, for PC, storefront.
- Windows version, DirectX report details, CPU and GPU model, video-memory amount, RAM amount and whether the installation is on an SSD.
- The account and launcher state: whether Ubisoft Connect opens, whether the game appears in the library and where the Play command was pressed.
- The exact error text, if any, including punctuation and code numbers.
- The precise failure point: no response, launcher handoff, splash screen, loading screen or post-menu crash.
- Numbered reproduction steps, the behavior you expected, the behavior you observed and every workaround you tried.
- Screenshots, a short video or logs when the support form requests them. Blur personal information before attaching media.
Ubisoft’s bug-reporting instructions specifically request the failure point, expected behavior, reproduction steps, workaround and supporting images or video. Supplying those fields prevents a generic launcher answer when the actual problem is hardware eligibility, storage or authentication.
When an upgrade is relevant—and when it is not
SSD capacity or drive type
If the game is installed on a hard drive or the system cannot keep 90 GB available on an SSD, a compatible 1 TB NVMe SSD is a practical capacity-and-eligibility upgrade. It cannot repair a wrong Ubisoft account, a Denuvo authorization failure or a service incident, so complete the launcher checks before buying hardware.
Graphics hardware
A GPU below the listed RX 5700, GTX 1070 or Arc A750 8 GB classes is below the published minimum. A future graphics-card upgrade may address eligibility, but it is not a guaranteed remedy for a game that fails before the launcher authenticates.
