It was associated with the Cloud-Player project, but current downloads, service access, and maintenance have not been verified. The available details are historical, not a reliable installation guide.
What was aux.app?
aux.app was described as a rebrand of Cloud-Player, an online music-streaming player with a desktop application. A LinuxLinks review published February 6, 2019, and updated July 13, 2021, identifies the relationship; an index entry for the Cloud-Player GitHub organization’s aux-app-desktop repository also supports that historical identification. Read the LinuxLinks review.

The desktop application used Electron to display the service in a desktop window. According to the review, the wrapper enabled background playback and media-key controls—useful for controlling playback without keeping the player in the foreground.
Which music services did it support?
The historical review names YouTube, SoundCloud, and Deezer as music sources. It also describes options to connect accounts for those services. Those descriptions establish what aux.app was presented as supporting at the time, not whether those integrations still work.

The review’s author, Luke Baker, reported JavaScript errors when attempting to connect accounts. That is one reviewer’s experience, not proof that every account connection failed or that the same behavior persists in any later version. The review and its account-connection notes are dated and should be read in that context.
Can you still download or use aux.app?
Current availability is unverified. The LinuxLinks review’s 2021 update says the developers provided Linux AppImage and Snap packages, and describes AppImage integration with a Linux application launcher. That is historical distribution information; it does not establish that the packages remain downloadable, maintained, or compatible with current Linux distributions.

There is not enough verified information to give a current download link or confirm support for Windows, macOS, or present-day Linux releases. The indexed repository reference is not evidence of an active project or functioning service. Check for a current official source before installing anything presented as aux.app, and do not assume an old package or third-party listing is safe or operational.

The same review said the frontend and backend were not open source. It noted that an MIT label in package.json applied to that file, not to the application as a whole. An indexed repository entry alone does not change that distinction or establish that the complete software or service operations are currently transparent.
What should you conclude before choosing it?
Historically, aux.app combined several streaming sources in a desktop wrapper with background playback and media-key support. But the evidence does not establish whether the service is still online, whether its integrations work now, or whether a maintained installer exists. Treat it as a historical product unless you can independently confirm a current official release and working service.
