AutoMix kiest automatisch een passende overgang voor geschikte nummers uit de Apple Music-catalogus; Crossfade laat het ene nummer uitfaden terwijl het volgende infadet, met een vaste, instelbare duur. Kies AutoMix voor dynamische overgangen en Crossfade als je zelf de fade-lengte wilt bepalen. AutoMix kan zonder overgang blijven bij albums die op volgorde spelen, bepaalde genres of tempo’s, geüploade bibliotheekmuziek en gekochte iTunes Store-nummers. De menu’s en ondersteuning verschillen per apparaat en softwareversie.
AutoMix of Crossfade: wat is het verschil?

AutoMix maakt niet bij ieder nummerpaar een hoorbare overgang. Apple vermeldt dat albums die in volgorde worden afgespeeld en sommige genres zonder overgang kunnen spelen. Een overgang kan ook ontbreken als tempo’s of genres niet goed bij elkaar passen, of als de muziek uit je eigen bibliotheek is geüpload of als download uit de iTunes Store is gekocht.

AutoMix of Crossfade inschakelen op iPhone of iPad
- Open Instellingen > Apps > Muziek > Nummerovergangen.
- Schakel Nummerovergangen in en kies AutoMix of Crossfade.
- Kies je Crossfade, stel dan de duur in met de schuifregelaar. De geraadpleegde Apple Support-pagina voor Nederland toont een bereik van 1 tot 12 seconden; wat je op je eigen apparaat ziet, kan afhangen van de softwareversie.
Je kunt de overgang ook tijdens het afspelen aanpassen: open in Muziek het scherm Volgende en zet AutoMix of Crossfade daar aan of uit.
Overgangen instellen op een Mac
- Open de Muziek-app en kies Muziek > Instellingen > Afspelen > Nummerovergangen.
- Kies AutoMix of Crossfade. AutoMix is alleen beschikbaar op een Mac met Apple silicon.
Als overgangen op de Mac niet werken, controleer dan of Prefer HDMI Passthrough is ingeschakeld. Die instelling verhindert overgangen; schakel haar uit om crossfading te hervatten.

- AutoMix is grijs: AutoMix vereist een Apple Music-abonnement. Zonder abonnement blijft Crossfade volgens Apple de beschikbare overgangsoptie in Muziek-instellingen en de Muziek-app.
- Hi-Res Lossless staat aan op iPhone of iPad: AutoMix en Crossfade zijn dan niet beschikbaar. Apple adviseert Lossless of een andere audiokwaliteit te kiezen.
- Je gebruikt een niet-ondersteund platform: AutoMix is niet beschikbaar op Intel-Macs, Apple Watch, Android of Apple Music voor Windows. Apple Music-beschikbaarheid verschilt per land of regio.
- Er is geen overgang tussen twee nummers: dat kan met opzet gebeuren bij albumvolgorde, bepaalde genres of tempo’s, uploads uit je persoonlijke bibliotheek en gekochte iTunes Store-downloads.
