Verdict: The original Audio Pro A10 MkII is a compact, mains-powered wireless speaker whose strongest case is its unusually broad streaming support: dual-band Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Audio Pro’s own multiroom system. It also has four presets, an analogue AUX input and optional wall or ceiling mounting. Audio Pro UK now lists this generation as discontinued and points buyers to the newer A10 MkII W, so availability and price for the original depend on remaining local stock.
This is a specification-led review rather than a listening test. The available launch coverage and manufacturer pages establish the design, connections and stated capabilities, but they do not provide a properly documented independent verdict on tonal balance, bass depth, maximum loudness, distortion or multiroom reliability. Those are the limits to keep in mind before treating any A10 MkII listing as a purchase decision.

What the Audio Pro A10 MkII is
The A10 MkII is a small powered speaker for home listening. It has its own amplifier and wireless network hardware, so it does not need a separate receiver or stereo amplifier. Audio Pro positions the original as a fabric-covered, rounded multiroom speaker rather than a battery portable model. Its published dimensions are 193 mm high and 140 mm in diameter, making it suitable for a shelf, bedside table or compact room where a full-size stereo system would be excessive.

It is not simply a regional name for the original, and its specifications should not be silently substituted for those of the discontinued model.

Audio Pro UK’s original product page now labels the A10 MkII discontinued and directs visitors to the W successor. Remaining original units can therefore differ by country, retailer and production batch. Check the exact model name on the box and seller listing before buying.
Audio Pro UK’s A10 MkII listing documents the original model’s physical design, wireless standards, presets and mounting support.
Original A10 MkII specifications
The following figures come from Audio Pro’s regional product pages. Where the manufacturer gives different values, the region is identified rather than combining them into a fictional single specification.
| Specification | Original A10 MkII listing | Source and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions | 193 mm high × 140 mm diameter | Audio Pro UK product page |
| Weight | 1.5 kg | Audio Pro UK page |
| Weight | 1.4 kg | Audio Pro India page; regional figures conflict |
| Amplifier power | 15 W + 37 W | Audio Pro India listing; stated product specification, not an independent output measurement |
| Woofer | 3-inch long-throw driver | Audio Pro India listing |
| Tweeter | 1.25-inch BMR tweeter | Audio Pro India listing |
| Low-frequency radiators | Two 4.5-inch passive radiators | Audio Pro India listing |
| Streaming resolution | Up to 24-bit/96 kHz | Audio Pro India listing; supported stream ceiling, not proof of audible improvement |
| Bluetooth | Bluetooth 5.0 | Audio Pro UK and India listings |
| Wi‑Fi | 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual-band Wi‑Fi | Audio Pro UK listing |
| Analogue input | 3.5 mm AUX | Audio Pro UK and India listings |
| Battery | No battery listed | Audio Pro India listing; designed for mains power |
The weight discrepancy is small but worth noting if you are checking a shelf load or a mounting solution. Use the figure on the page for your market or ask the seller to confirm the exact regional model instead of assuming 1.4 or 1.5 kg applies universally.
Wireless and wired connections
Connectivity is the A10 MkII’s clearest buying argument. It can be used as a conventional Bluetooth speaker, as a network streamer, or as part of Audio Pro’s multiroom system. The network functions require a suitable home Wi‑Fi connection; Bluetooth is useful when you want a direct device-to-speaker link without adding the speaker to a network.
AirPlay 2
AirPlay 2 support allows compatible Apple devices to send audio to the speaker and to include it in an AirPlay 2 multi-speaker setup. Audio Pro lists AirPlay 2 for the original MkII. This is separate from the W generation’s listing of both AirPlay 1 and AirPlay 2, so do not use the W page to broaden the original’s specification.

Google Cast
Google Cast is listed for the original A10 MkII. A compatible casting app can send playback over the network rather than maintaining a short-range Bluetooth connection. If your household uses Google Cast and AirPlay devices together, verify that your chosen control app exposes the grouping you want; support for both protocols does not guarantee that every third-party app can combine them in one group.
Audio Pro Multiroom
Audio Pro’s own multiroom platform is another supported path. It is the relevant option when you intend to build a group of compatible Audio Pro speakers and use the manufacturer’s controls and presets. The platform is distinct from AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, so mixing systems can involve separate grouping rules and apps.
Bluetooth 5.0
Bluetooth 5.0 provides the direct, familiar connection used by phones, tablets and computers. Bluetooth is convenient for visitors and for devices that do not participate in your home network, but it does not by itself provide the same network-based multiroom workflow as AirPlay 2, Google Cast or Audio Pro Multiroom.
3.5 mm AUX
The analogue AUX input is the one physical audio input documented for the original. It can accept a line-level source such as a computer, CD player or other device with a headphone or line output. Use an appropriate 3.5 mm cable and set the source volume conservatively when first connecting.
Audio Pro’s detailed regional specification also says the listed configuration has no Ethernet, optical input, HDMI/ARC, USB phone-charging port, line output or subwoofer output. Those omissions matter more than the headline wireless formats if you are planning to connect a television, wired network, external subwoofer or charge a phone from the speaker.

What the driver and amplifier figures tell you—and what they do not
The Indian product page lists a 3-inch long-throw woofer, a 1.25-inch BMR tweeter and two 4.5-inch low-frequency radiators, driven by 15 W and 37 W amplifier sections. That describes the hardware arrangement and the manufacturer’s stated power allocation. It does not establish a frequency-response curve, maximum sound-pressure level, bass extension, distortion threshold or tonal balance.

Likewise, “up to 24/96” describes a supported digital stream ceiling. It is not an independent measurement of resolution at the driver, nor does it show that high-resolution files will sound better in every room. A meaningful sound-quality judgment would require controlled listening or measurements with the original speaker, none of which is supplied by the available launch report.
Passive radiators can help a compact enclosure produce more low-frequency output than a sealed box of the same size, but their presence alone cannot tell you how deep, clean or loud the bass will be. Room placement, wall proximity, volume and program material will also affect what you hear.
Setting up the original A10 MkII
The exact app screens can change with firmware and phone operating system, so follow the current instructions supplied with the speaker. The practical sequence is:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Place the speaker near power and Wi‑Fi coverage. It has no battery, so choose a permanent mains location. Leave room around the enclosure and do not hide it inside a cabinet if that blocks controls or wireless access.
- Connect mains power and switch the speaker on. Allow the startup sequence to complete before attempting network setup.
- Install the current Audio Pro control app or use the platform you intend to use. For Audio Pro Multiroom, follow Audio Pro’s pairing instructions. For AirPlay 2 or Google Cast, make sure the phone and speaker are on the same home network during setup.
- Choose the playback route. Use AirPlay 2, Google Cast or Audio Pro Multiroom for network playback; choose Bluetooth for a direct device connection; use AUX for an analogue source.
- Save frequently used sources to the presets if supported by your setup. The original is documented with four top-mounted preset buttons, intended for quick access to saved stations, playlists or services.
- Test the whole room before final mounting. Play from each service you expect to use, walk to the intended listening position and check that the speaker remains visible to the app. This catches network coverage and account issues before the speaker is fixed to a wall or ceiling.
If a phone cannot discover the speaker, first confirm that both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network and that the speaker is powered. A separate guest network, VPN, client-isolation setting or mesh-node handoff can prevent discovery even when the internet itself works. If Bluetooth is the immediate priority, pair directly while you resolve the network configuration.
Placement and mounting
Audio Pro says the original can be wall- or ceiling-mounted. Mounting is useful for a kitchen, hallway or secondary room where shelf space is limited, but the support hardware and its compatibility with your exact generation must be checked before drilling. The W page specifically refers to brackets sold separately; that statement should not be treated as proof that every W bracket fits the original MkII.
- Confirm the bracket’s model compatibility with the seller or Audio Pro.
- Verify the wall or ceiling can carry at least the speaker’s regional listed mass, plus the bracket and safety margin.
- Route the mains cable so it cannot pull on the speaker or become a trip hazard.
- Keep the top controls reachable if you rely on the four presets.
- Test wireless discovery at the final position before tightening all hardware.
Because there is no battery, mounting does not turn the A10 MkII into an outdoor portable speaker. It remains a mains-powered home product and should be protected from weather and unsuitable damp locations.

Original A10 MkII versus A10 MkII W
The A10 MkII W is the named successor. It may be the practical choice when original stock is unavailable, but it is a different generation. The table separates published W-generation information from the original’s documented features.

The W pages also differ internally: the EU page lists a 750 Hz crossover, while the UK page gives 300 Hz. That is a reason to verify the exact regional SKU rather than merging every number from different pages into one table. Audio Pro’s W-generation claims about EQ, room correction and synchronization are manufacturer descriptions, not independent proof of sound or multiroom reliability.
For the original, the safe buying rule is simple: if the listing says “A10 MkII W,” treat it as the W generation; if it says “A10 MkII,” check that it is not using W photographs or W app features in the description.

What Hi‑Fi?’s Joe Svetlik published a launch report on 19 August 2022 and gave launch pricing of £220, $250 and approximately AU$378. Those are historical launch prices, not a current recommendation or evidence of what remaining stock should cost. The report also describes the MkII’s addition of multiroom support through AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Audio Pro’s own technology: read the dated launch report.
Audio Pro UK’s current status is more useful for a present-day purchase decision: the original is discontinued and the manufacturer directs buyers to the MkII W. A discontinued label does not mean every unit has vanished, but it does mean stock, warranty terms and return policies need checking with the local seller. Do not assume a low price is a bargain until you confirm the generation, condition and included accessories.

Sound quality: what can responsibly be said
There is no properly documented independent listening test in the available coverage for the original A10 MkII. The item linked from the manufacturer’s original page is a launch report, not evidence of a full comparative review. It is therefore not responsible to claim that the speaker is warm, bright, room-filling, bass-heavy, detailed, loud or distortion-free.
You can still make an informed audition when a retailer allows a return. Use familiar tracks with vocals, acoustic instruments and bass, and compare at the volume you actually use. Listen for whether voices remain clear, whether bass sounds controlled near a wall, and whether the speaker compresses or becomes harsh when turned up. Those observations would be your own test, not a manufacturer specification.
Also test the functions that matter to your household. Start and stop playback from AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, switch to Bluetooth, try the AUX input, create the intended multiroom group and leave it playing long enough to expose dropouts. A speaker can have every listed protocol and still behave differently on a particular router or mesh network.
Audio Pro’s product language should be read as promotion, not independent measurement. The driver sizes, amplifier figures and 24/96 ceiling describe capability on paper; they cannot replace frequency-response, distortion or controlled listening data.
Connection and multiroom caveats
Audio Pro UK’s original page contains four customer reviews, including complaints about connection discovery and multiroom dropouts. Four self-selected comments cannot establish a defect rate or predict how your network will behave. They are best treated as prompts to test discovery and grouping during your return period, not as proof that every A10 MkII is unreliable.
If a group drops out, check the basics in this order:
- Confirm every speaker is powered and still connected to the same SSID.
- Check whether one unit has moved to a weak mesh node or a guest network.
- Temporarily reduce the group to two speakers to identify whether one device is causing the failure.
- Restart the affected speaker and router, then retry discovery.
- Check for firmware or app updates supplied by Audio Pro before changing advanced router settings.
Do not assume that AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Audio Pro Multiroom share identical grouping behavior. Choose one ecosystem for a particular listening session and use its documented controls when troubleshooting.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

- Small-room listeners: The compact 193 × 140 mm body is easier to place than a pair of conventional speakers.
- Households with mixed devices: AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Bluetooth cover common Apple, Android and computer workflows.
- Audio Pro multiroom owners: The original can join the manufacturer’s stated multiroom ecosystem.
- Listeners needing one analogue source: The 3.5 mm AUX input handles a line-level device without an additional converter.
- Installations with limited shelf space: Wall or ceiling mounting is supported, subject to bracket compatibility and safe installation.
Who should look elsewhere
- TV users needing HDMI/ARC or optical: Neither is listed for the original, so it is not a straightforward television soundbar substitute.
- Wired-network installations: Ethernet is not listed; the speaker relies on Wi‑Fi for network streaming.
- Subwoofer systems: No subwoofer output or line output is listed.
- Travel and outdoor use: There is no built-in battery, and the product is intended for mains-powered home use.
- Buyers demanding a current model: Audio Pro UK has discontinued the original and points to the MkII W.
- Anyone requiring a proven sound verdict: The available material does not establish independent measurements or a full listening review.
Buying checklist for remaining original stock
- Read the model label carefully. Confirm it says A10 MkII, not A10 MkII W, if the original generation is what you want.
- Check the seller’s region and warranty. Regional pages list different weights and prices, and discontinued stock may have different return arrangements.
- Confirm the port list. Expect Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and 3.5 mm AUX; do not buy it expecting Ethernet, optical, HDMI/ARC, USB charging, line out or subwoofer out.
- Confirm mains placement. There is no battery, so plan a permanent power socket.
- Verify mounting hardware. Ask whether the bracket is compatible with the original MkII rather than assuming W-generation accessories fit.
- Test every required ecosystem promptly. Check AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Bluetooth, AUX and any Audio Pro multiroom grouping within the seller’s return window.
- Compare the total cost with the W successor. The original’s discontinued status can make a supposedly cheap unit less attractive if the newer generation is readily available in your market.
Final assessment
The original Audio Pro A10 MkII makes the most sense as a compact network speaker for someone who specifically values AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Bluetooth, Audio Pro Multiroom and four physical presets in one small enclosure. Its documented limits are equally clear: mains-only operation, a single 3.5 mm analogue input and no Ethernet, optical, HDMI/ARC, charging, line or subwoofer outputs.
Because Audio Pro UK has discontinued it and directs buyers to the A10 MkII W, the original should be purchased only after confirming generation, local stock, warranty and the exact connections you need. Treat amplifier power and driver figures as specifications, not a substitute for listening evidence, and audition or use a return period if sound character and multiroom stability are decisive.
