In ecoustics reviewer Ian White’s trial, records came out noticeably cleaner, but that account is not a controlled comparison—and cleaning cannot repair scratches or groove damage. At the $3,599 U.S. price reported in 2026, its strongest case is convenience for people who clean records frequently, not a guaranteed improvement to every record or playback system.
How does the Vinyl Cleaner Premium clean records?
The Premium cleans both sides of a standard 12-inch LP in one cycle. Audiodesksysteme Gläss describes ultrasonic vibration creating and collapsing bubbles in the cleaning liquid while four microfiber rollers—two on each side—contact the record. The fluid circulates through a filter that collects dirt; after cleaning, the machine air-dries the record and raises it slightly for removal. The manufacturer describes the process and current product revisions on its Vinyl Cleaner Premium product page.

According to the ecoustics review, the machine has a 4.5-liter reservoir and uses distilled water mixed with approximately 20 ml of Audio Desk concentrate. The review reports a roughly five-minute complete cycle, including about three minutes of drying. These are figures from that review; the manufacturer page separately advertises three-minute drying. The Premium’s published ultrasonic operating frequency was not found in the review, so a frequency should not be inferred from another cleaner.
What changed in the current Premium?
The manufacturer lists a Silent Core One motor, revised electronics and wet filtration, higher-pressure rinsing, and a shorter drying stage among the revisions. Those are manufacturer-described changes, not independent proof of a particular noise level, reliability improvement, or cleaning advantage. In White’s sample, cleaning was quiet enough for him to work nearby, while drying was louder than the wash cycle.

How clean did records get in the review?
White reports cleaning about 200 records over a little more than a month. He found that records looked and sounded noticeably cleaner, and said the process made him more willing to buy used records because cleaning felt less burdensome. His observations offer a useful picture of day-to-day use, but they are one reviewer’s experience rather than laboratory measurements or a matched comparison with other machines.
In that same run, White says roughly a dozen records needed a small nudge to begin rotating. He observed no wet labels and no records emerging damp. These are outcomes from his inspected sample, not a guarantee for every record or a population-level success rate.

Cleaning removes contamination; it does not restore damaged vinyl. As the review notes, no record-cleaning machine can repair scratches, groove damage, pressing defects such as non-fill or an off-center pressing, or wear caused by a damaged stylus. A cleaner may help with dirt-related noise, but it cannot reverse physical defects.

What does it cost, and what is included?
In its 2026 review, ecoustics gives the U.S. MSRP as $3,599 and says it was unchanged from its May 2026 coverage. Music Direct also displayed $3,599 when its listing was accessed in 2026. The German manufacturer listing showed €2,799 in 2026. These are separate, market-specific listings rather than a single worldwide price; check the relevant seller for current price, stock, taxes, and delivery. The machine is supplied with two bottles of concentrate, according to the review. The manufacturer sells 7-inch and 10-inch adapters separately; without them, the review describes standard compatibility as 12-inch LPs. Its replacement set includes five concentrates, one wet filter, four microfiber rollers, and two wipers, and is described for 500 records. That bundle description is not a stated replacement schedule for each individual part. Consumables and the optional adapters therefore belong in the ownership-cost calculation.
Is the Premium worth it compared with other cleaners?
The ecoustics review mentions the Spin-Clean, VPI HW-16.5, and HumminGuru as comparison points, but it does not provide matched testing across those machines. White says he had not tried competing machines with similar cleaning technology, so the review does not establish that the Premium cleans better than them. The cited prices below are figures in that review, not a current market survey.

For a fair decision, compare how much work each option leaves to you, whether it cleans both sides at once, supported record sizes, cycle and drying time, included and recurring consumables, warranty and local service, and noise or handling. The available review and manufacturer information does not settle those comparisons with side-by-side test data.

Who is most likely to benefit from the automation?
White’s value argument is that the price is hard to justify if you clean only a few records each year, but may make more sense for a collector facing a large backlog, someone buying many used records, or a dealer processing stock. That is a judgment about the value of saved effort, not a universal threshold: whether the machine pays off depends on how often you clean, how much manual work you want to avoid, and how you value the purchase price and consumables.

Before buying, check the warranty that applies in your region and whether authorized service is available where you live. The review reports a three-year warranty and authorized service locations, but warranty terms and service availability should be confirmed for the buyer’s market rather than assumed to be identical everywhere.

The manufacturer’s history page reproduces favorable historical reviewer comments about the Vinyl Cleaner: a 2015 Stereophile comment attributed to Art Dudley and a 2014 hifi+ comment attributed to Alan Sircom. These are reviewers’ opinions about the earlier Vinyl Cleaner, not controlled findings about the current Premium revision. They provide historical context, not evidence that every record will achieve a particular noise reduction or that this model outperforms alternatives.
