3. The story follows designed turning points
Audible says creators define the foundations of each experience, including its opening scenes, turning points and character persona. That framework is intended to keep the interaction faithful to the creator’s vision rather than allowing any possible conversation.
Is this part of the full audiobook?
No. Interactive Story is a bonus experience attached to a supported title, not a replacement for the narrated audiobook and not a capability that automatically applies to Audible’s entire catalog. The original Bram Stoker’s Dracula listening experience remains a conventional audiobook; the Renfield interaction is an additional feature.

Character Guide is therefore a reference tool, not a conversational character. It can reduce confusion in a large cast while you listen, whereas Interactive Story takes you into an extra scene.

The first announced Interactive Story is Renfield in Audible Original Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The feature is tied to that specific experience, not to every edition or recording of the Dracula novel.

Where is Audible’s AI character experience available?
The rollout is a limited beta for Audible customers in the United States and United Kingdom. Eligibility and supported titles can change while Audible evaluates feedback, so a customer in one of those countries may still not see Interactive Story on every account or book. The move arrives as the U.S. audiobook market grows: Publishers Weekly reported $2.43 billion in U.S. audiobook sales for 2025, a figure reported by TechCrunch. That market context helps explain the investment in new formats, but it does not indicate how widely Interactive Story will be adopted or whether the beta will become a standard part of Audible membership.
