AT&T says eligible customers can get up to $1,200 off the iPhone Duo, but the savings come as 36 monthly bill credits—not an upfront discount. The offer requires a qualifying smartphone trade-in worth at least $230, at least $1,999.99 financed on an installment plan, and activation on AT&T Premium 2.0, which AT&T lists at a minimum of $100 per month before taxes, fees, and discounts. Preorders open October 16, 2026, and general availability begins October 23.
When iPhone Duo preorders begin at AT&T
AT&T’s iPhone Duo product page lists preorders starting Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. PT. General availability begins Friday, October 23. How the $1,200 discount works
AT&T advertises up to $1,200 off after 36 monthly credits. That means the discount is spread across the financing term and is conditional on meeting the offer requirements; it is not $1,200 taken off the purchase price at checkout. AT&T lists the iPhone Duo’s retail price as $1,999.99 and displays a price as low as $22.23 per month with an eligible trade-in, alongside a $55.56 monthly figure. The lower figure depends on qualifying credits and eligibility. The promotion also requires financing at least $1,999.99 on an installment plan. AT&T’s Duo offer terms and device listing explain the price and credit structure.
What you need to qualify
Trade in an eligible smartphone
The Duo-specific offer requires an eligible smartphone with a minimum trade-in value of $230. AT&T says offer values vary by device, plan, and trade-in combination, so confirm your specific device’s value and resulting credit in checkout.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Activate on AT&T Premium 2.0
You must activate on AT&T Premium 2.0. AT&T lists the plan at a minimum of $100 per month before taxes, fees, and discounts, and says not all plans qualify. The stated amount is a plan minimum, not a complete estimate of your monthly bill.
Finance the required amount and qualify for service
The offer requires at least $1,999.99 on an installment plan and is limited to well-qualified customers. The product listing describes 0% APR financing over 36 months for well-qualified customers. Full-price tax is due at sale, and an activation or upgrade charge, taxes, fees, and other restrictions may apply.

Credit timing and the cost of leaving early
AT&T says credits can take up to three billing cycles to begin. If service is cancelled, credits stop and the remaining device balance becomes due. Before signing up, consider whether you expect to keep the qualifying service and device financing through the full 36-month credit period; the advertised maximum savings depend on receiving the credits.
Keep the separate switcher offer separate
AT&T also advertises up to $800 toward a competing device balance for eligible customers who port in a new line. That is a separate promotion, not part of the iPhone Duo’s $1,200 trade-in offer. The switcher promotion requires reward-card redemption and proof of the competing balance; check its own terms if you plan to use it.

Check the Duo-specific terms, not a broader iPhone offer
AT&T’s separate September 2026 lineup announcement describes a broader iPhone offer with different trade-in examples and a different plan threshold. Those terms should not be substituted for the iPhone Duo promotion. The October 9 Duo-specific offer sets the $230 minimum trade-in value, $1,999.99 installment minimum, and Premium 2.0 requirement. AT&T says terms can change and eligibility varies, so verify the exact combination shown at checkout. AT&T’s broader lineup announcement is distinct from the Duo-specific offer.
What AT&T says about the phone
AT&T describes the iPhone Duo as a foldable phone with a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.4-inch outer screen, powered by A20 Pro. Its product listing names Star White and Night Sky color options and says the phone is eSIM-only. These are AT&T-published specifications and descriptions, not independent test findings. AT&T also lists an Apple Case for iPhone Duo at $79; confirm current price and availability on the product page.

Is the offer a good fit?
The headline discount alone does not show the total cost. Compare the device payments over 36 months, the cost of the required plan, your trade-in’s eligibility and value, and the possibility of losing future credits if you cancel service. Also consider whether you want a foldable phone. AT&T’s announcement establishes its own offer, but does not establish that it is the best available carrier deal.
