For each eligible plan, use its Broadband Facts label to compare the full recurring price, typical download and upload speeds, latency, data allowance, equipment and fees, and service terms. Without a specific address and matched local offers, there is no evidence-based universal winner.
Start with providers available at your exact address
Enter the complete service address, including an apartment or unit number if requested, in each provider’s availability checker. AT&T says its checker returns available speeds, prices, and offers after you enter an address; Google Fiber and Frontier also require an eligibility check. A city or metro-area map does not establish that a provider can serve a particular home. Check AT&T availability, check Google Fiber availability, and check Frontier availability.

Once you know which providers can serve the address, compare plans offered there on the same date. A provider’s general description or a price advertised in another market is not a substitute for an eligible local plan and its label.

Broadband Facts labels are a practical starting point because they put key service details in a common format. AT&T’s guide explains that the label is intended to help compare its plans with other providers’ plans. Read the label alongside the provider’s checkout page: the label may exclude promotions and taxes, while checkout terms can clarify eligibility and charges. AT&T’s Broadband Facts guide.

Monthly price and promotion conditions
Compare the standard monthly price, discounts, autopay or bundle requirements, how long a promotion lasts, and the price after it ends. Include taxes and additional charges where the provider discloses them. Do not compare a conditional bundle offer as though it were the standard standalone price.
For example, AT&T announced a simplified fiber lineup on June 3, 2026, and said eligible customers bundling AT&T wireless and home internet could get fiber for as low as $35 per month. That is a conditional advertised offer, not a generally available standalone price; eligibility and offer terms apply. The announcement also says the 5 GIG plan includes All-Fi Pro and notes limited availability in select areas. AT&T’s June 2026 announcement.
Typical download, upload, and latency
Read all three performance figures on each label. Download speed matters for receiving data; upload capacity can matter for video calls, cloud backups, and sending large files. Latency affects how responsive connections feel. Typical label figures give a more useful basis for comparison than a headline maximum, though actual performance can vary.

Provider descriptions can illustrate what is on offer, but they are not matched comparisons. Google Fiber’s published GFiber Facts page lists 1 Gig at $70 per month, with download and upload speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second and a Wi-Fi 6E router. It says eligibility depends on address and that actual internet speed, Wi-Fi speed, and coverage are not guaranteed. This is a provider-published example, not a comparison against an AT&T plan at the same address. Google Fiber Facts. Frontier describes its fiber plans as having symmetrical upload and download speeds; check the local plan and its label to see the specific terms. Frontier fiber plans.
Data and network practices
Check the label’s data section for any allowance or other data terms. Follow its links to the provider’s network-management and privacy disclosures if those practices matter to your household. A fiber connection alone does not establish that providers handle network traffic or data in identical ways.
Equipment, installation, and other fees
Check whether a router or gateway is included, whether an extender is available or costs extra, and whether installation, activation, or other equipment charges apply. Inclusions can differ between plans and change over time, so use the current label and checkout terms rather than assuming that one provider’s equipment policy applies to every plan. The AT&T label guide describes additional charges and terms as label information. AT&T’s label guide.

Separate fiber service speed from home Wi-Fi coverage
A plan’s wired speed is not a promise that every device will get the same speed over Wi-Fi in every room. Google Fiber identifies device capability, distance from the router, walls, connected-device count, and interference as factors that can affect wireless speed and coverage. Its guidance also says an extender is available with its 1 Gig equipment setup where needed. Google Fiber’s Wi-Fi guidance.
If coverage is poor in one part of the home, first determine whether the issue is Wi-Fi reach or the underlying service. Check the included router or extender and placement before considering a separate mesh system; extra equipment is not required simply because you are comparing providers. Google Fiber’s label guide highlights upload and download speeds, equipment fees, and pricing as useful comparison points. Google Fiber’s broadband-label guide.

Keep published price examples in context
Published figures can help orient a comparison, but they are not necessarily competing offers available at one address. Google Fiber lists 1 Gig at $70 per month on its GFiber Facts page, with speeds up to 1 gigabit per second in both directions; confirm address eligibility and current terms. AT&T’s $35 figure was an eligible-bundle offer announced in June 2026, not a standard standalone price.
The FCC’s 2024 Urban Rate Survey reported weighted mean monthly prices for internet-only packages of $70.35 for copper, $93.91 for cable, $51.28 for fixed wireless, and $160.34 for fiber. These are historical category averages, not current quotes or a like-for-like comparison of plans at a reader’s address. FCC Urban Rate Survey data.
