ITPro’s UK review lists it at £799.99 and tests a 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD configuration; PCWorld reports a $799 US starting price and tests a 16GB, 256GB model. Those are review-time prices and different configurations, not a single universal specification or live quote.
Its strongest case is portability: a 1.10kg metal-bodied laptop with a 14-inch OLED screen. Its compromises are a modest 50Wh battery and, depending on the SKU, less storage than you may expect. For everyday productivity, it looks like a sensible value option; buyers should confirm the exact regional model and capacity before paying.

The combination is suited to web browsing, documents, video calls, study and routine multitasking. ITPro describes it as a dependable office laptop. The available reviews do not establish it as a strong choice for demanding gaming or professional creative-production workloads, so buyers with those needs should look for workload-specific testing before choosing it.

How much does it cost, and what configuration are you buying?
Prices vary by market and configuration. ITPro reported £799.99 for the UK model in its September 18, 2026 review, while PCWorld reported a $799 US starting price in September 2026. These are source-reported review prices, not current retailer quotes, and the differing currencies and configurations make them unsuitable for direct price comparison. (ITPro; PCWorld)
Storage capacity is the clearest discrepancy between the tested models: ITPro lists 512GB, while PCWorld’s test machine has 256GB. Confirm RAM, SSD capacity and full model suffix with the retailer for your country; regional naming can differ, and secondary coverage reports UX3480Q in China versus UX3480QA on international Asus listings. (Notebookcheck)
Is it genuinely portable?
At 1.10kg and 0.55 inches thick, the Zenbook 14 is easy to carry in a work or study bag. ITPro describes an all-metal chassis with a ceramic-style finish and notes that the lid is easy to open. It is a particularly appealing format for people who move between home, campus and office and do not want to carry a heavier machine.

What is the OLED screen like?
The reviewed display is a 14-inch WUXGA OLED panel with a 1920 × 1200 resolution. In ITPro’s 2026 testing, it reached 302.96 cd/m² peak brightness, covered 100% of sRGB and 92.6% of Adobe color gamut. These are measurements from that review’s tested panel, not a guarantee for every regional configuration or replacement panel. The resolution provides a 16:10 workspace for documents and browsing; the measured brightness is worth bearing in mind if you often work in very bright environments.
How fast is it for everyday work?
ITPro’s Zenbook 14 returned Geekbench 7 scores of 1,324 single-core and 10,547 multi-threaded. PCWorld’s different configuration returned Geekbench 6 scores of 2,151 single-core and 10,662 multi-core. Because these are different Geekbench versions and test environments, the figures should not be compared as if they came from one controlled head-to-head test.
For ordinary productivity, the processor and 16GB memory configuration make the laptop a plausible fit for multiple browser tabs, office applications, online classes and video meetings. The benchmark results alone do not establish performance in a particular demanding application; check tests of the software you rely on if your work involves specialized or sustained heavy processing.

How long does the battery last?
Battery figures vary with workload, brightness and test method. Asus’s claim, as reported by ITPro, is up to 18 hours of web browsing. ITPro’s own looped-video test lasted 10 hours and 13 minutes. PCWorld reports about 14 hours under light-use, low-brightness conditions, but 5 hours and 10 minutes in a heavy-use, high-brightness test. Those results are not directly comparable, and real-world runtime depends on how the laptop is used.
PCWorld lists a 50Wh battery. For context within the product family, it reports 70Wh for the Zenbook A14; that larger capacity is one difference, not proof of a particular runtime advantage under identical conditions. ITPro characterizes the newer A14 as more expensive and positions the Zenbook 14 as the more office-focused alternative.

ITPro lists two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports rated up to 10Gbps, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port rated up to 5Gbps, HDMI 2.1 TMDS and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is no SD card reader, a limitation to consider if your workflow involves transferring files directly from camera cards.

Should you buy the Zenbook 14 or consider the Zenbook A14?
The Zenbook 14 makes the most sense when carrying weight and keeping the purchase price down matter more than having a larger battery or maximizing storage. ITPro calls the model a good office laptop for buyers who liked the A14 but were less keen on its cost. The A14’s 70Wh battery, reported by PCWorld, is larger than the Zenbook 14’s 50Wh unit; there is no same-condition battery comparison here to quantify the practical runtime difference.
Before choosing either machine, compare the exact regional price and SKU, SSD capacity, RAM, weight, screen resolution and brightness, ports, processor generation and battery test conditions. The family name alone does not ensure identical specifications or pricing across markets.
Verdict
The Asus Zenbook 14 UX3480Q is a convincing portable productivity laptop when the priority is a light, stylish build and an OLED screen at a relatively accessible review price. Its everyday-performance profile fits office and study tasks, while the 50Wh battery, absent card reader and SKU-dependent storage are the main compromises. Confirm the precise configuration available where you live; the 256GB and 512GB review models are meaningfully different for anyone keeping files locally.
