Asus TUF Gaming Mini Wireless Mouse vs Logitech G305: Which wireless gaming mouse is better?

For most buyers, the Logitech G305 is the better wireless gaming mouse. It costs far less at the cited US store price, lasts up to 250 hours on one AA battery, and combines Logitech’s HERO sensor with 1ms LIGHTSPEED wireless. Choose the Asus TUF Gaming Mini instead when you specifically want a rechargeable battery, wired/2.4GHz/Bluetooth connectivity, a 65g compact shell for a small-to-medium hand, or the Hatsune Miku design. The Asus is a specialized comfort-and-convenience option, not a value or competitive-performance winner.

Quick verdict

These mice target different priorities. The G305 is a conventional 2.4GHz gaming mouse built around low running cost and long battery life. The TUF Gaming Mini is a lighter, rechargeable, tri-mode mouse whose main advantages are flexibility, compact ergonomics and its collector-oriented styling.

Priority Better choice Why
Lowest purchase price Logitech G305 The cited Logitech US store price was $39.99 on special, against a listed regular price of $59.99, when accessed on October 18, 2026.
Longest rated battery life Logitech G305 One AA battery is rated for 250 hours, compared with 134 hours for the Asus rechargeable battery.
Rechargeable operation Asus TUF Gaming Mini You recharge the mouse instead of replacing AA cells.
Connection flexibility Asus TUF Gaming Mini It supports wired, 2.4GHz dongle and Bluetooth modes.
Small-to-medium hands Asus TUF Gaming Mini Its 65g, right-handed body is compact and the cited review found it comfortable for palm and claw grips.
Competitive-focused wireless performance Logitech G305 Its HERO sensor is specified at 200–12,000 DPI with no smoothing, acceleration or filtering, and LIGHTSPEED wireless is rated at 1ms.
Hatsune Miku styling Asus TUF Gaming Mini The themed design is a reason to buy this model that the G305 cannot provide.

At the Asus review price of $109 in the US or £92 in the UK, the TUF Gaming Mini costs substantially more than the G305 price evidence. That premium only makes sense if its rechargeable tri-mode design, smaller shape or Miku appearance solves a problem you actually have.

Price and value: when is the Asus premium justified?

Logitech G305 value

Logitech’s store showed the G305 at $39.99 on special, with $59.99 shown as the regular price, and marked it in stock when accessed on October 18, 2026. That is the strongest price evidence in this comparison, but it is both US-specific and time-sensitive. A promotion can end, and local prices can differ.

At either the special or regular listed price, the G305 delivers the central features most budget buyers want: 2.4GHz gaming wireless, a gaming-grade sensor specification and long AA endurance. You also avoid paying for connection modes you may never use.

Asus TUF Gaming Mini value

Tom’s Guide lists the Asus at $109 in the US and £92 in the UK in its 2026 coverage. Those figures are review-date references rather than a permanent worldwide price. The higher cost buys a rechargeable battery, three connection methods, a 65g body and the Hatsune Miku styling; it does not buy a higher stated DPI ceiling than the G305.

The premium is difficult to defend for a buyer who only wants the lowest-cost wireless gaming mouse. It becomes easier to defend when replacing batteries is inconvenient, when you regularly switch between a gaming PC and Bluetooth device, or when a compact 65g shell fits you better than the heavier G305.

Battery life and charging burden

Asus: rechargeable convenience

The TUF Gaming Mini is rated for 134 hours. Because the battery is rechargeable, you can restore capacity rather than keep spare AA cells available. The practical trade-off is that charging becomes part of your routine, and the cited material does not establish how long a full recharge takes or whether every connection mode can be used while charging. Treat 134 hours as the manufacturer or review rating, not a guaranteed figure for every polling rate, lighting setting or usage pattern.

G305: longer endurance on one AA

Logitech rates the G305 for 250 hours from a single AA battery. That is 116 hours more than the Asus’s 134-hour rating, or roughly 1.9 times the stated runtime. The cell is replaceable, so a fresh battery gets you back to work immediately; the trade-off is buying and disposing of batteries and accepting the mouse’s 99g weight.

If you dislike plugging in peripherals, the G305 is the clear choice. If you dislike disposable batteries more than you dislike periodic charging, the Asus is the better fit. Neither runtime figure should be read as a promise of identical results across sensitivity, polling, sleep behavior and other settings.

Connectivity: three modes versus focused 2.4GHz wireless

Asus tri-mode flexibility

The Asus can operate over a cable, a 2.4GHz USB dongle or Bluetooth. Wired mode is useful when the battery needs replenishing or when you want to remove wireless variables. The dongle mode is the appropriate wireless setting for gaming. Bluetooth is convenient for compatible laptops and other devices, but Tom’s Guide notes that its polling rate falls to 125Hz in Bluetooth mode. That makes Bluetooth a convenience connection, not the mode to choose when minimizing input latency is your priority.

Before buying, check that your computer has a suitable USB port for the dongle and that the devices you plan to use support the required Bluetooth profile. The cited specifications confirm the three modes but do not establish multi-device pairing behavior or a dedicated hardware switch layout, so do not assume seamless switching between several paired systems.

G305: one wireless path, fewer decisions

The cited Logitech specification centers on LIGHTSPEED 2.4GHz wireless and a 1ms response claim. That focused design is an advantage if the mouse will stay with one gaming PC: connect the receiver, use the gaming wireless mode and avoid Bluetooth’s lower polling rate. It is a limitation if you need native Bluetooth or want to use the mouse as a wired device.

Sensor and gaming performance

What the G305 specification means

The G305’s HERO sensor covers 200–12,000 DPI. Logitech specifies zero smoothing, acceleration or filtering across that range and claims 1ms LIGHTSPEED wireless performance. Those details are aimed at predictable cursor behavior: the mouse is not deliberately altering movement to make it look smoother or faster, and the wireless link is designed for a low response time.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That specification makes the G305 the safer choice for players who care about consistent tracking in aim-intensive games. It is not proof that every player will aim better, but it removes the particular processing behaviors competitive players often try to avoid.

What the Asus specification means

The TUF Gaming Mini reaches 12,000 DPI and polls at 1,000Hz in its gaming-oriented modes. Tom’s Guide reviewer Nikita Achanta tested it in Counter-Strike 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 and reported no noticeable latency or input-lag problems. The review describes the 1,000Hz polling and 12,000 DPI as sufficient for casual gaming, while warning that competitive players may want more features.

Those observations support the Asus for everyday play, not a claim of esports superiority. The available material does not provide tournament measurements, click-latency tests or a head-to-head sensor test against the G305. It would therefore be inaccurate to declare the Asus faster simply because its polling figure is listed as 1,000Hz.

Shape, weight and hand size

Why the Asus suits smaller hands

At 65g and 4.53 × 2.5 × 1.48 inches, the TUF Gaming Mini is substantially lighter than the 99g G305. The cited review found it comfortable for small-to-medium hands and suitable for palm and claw grips. Its right-handed shape and compact dimensions can reduce the amount of hand movement required for a relaxed grip.

Comfort remains personal. A small mouse can feel cramped if your fingers extend beyond the front or if you prefer to rest more of your palm on the shell. Use the published dimensions as a starting point, and compare them with a mouse that already feels comfortable before ordering.

What the G305’s extra weight changes

Logitech lists the G305 at 99g and 116.6 × 62.15 × 38.2mm. The additional mass can feel steadier to some users and slower to reposition to others. Players who make frequent low-sensitivity swipes may prefer a lighter body; players who dislike a feather-light mouse may find the G305 more planted.

The G305’s dimensions are not automatically “too large,” but the 65g Asus is the more defensible recommendation when the buyer explicitly has small-to-medium hands or wants a lightweight shell.

Controls, glide and daily handling

Tom’s Guide describes the Asus as sturdy with good glide, but calls its scroll wheel stiff and high-resistance. That resistance can provide deliberate notches for weapon or menu selection, yet the review says it may become fatiguing during long sessions. If you use the wheel constantly for browsing, inventory management or repeated zoom changes, this is an important comfort concern.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Asus has six buttons, which can provide useful assignments for casual games and productivity. The cited G305 material does not state a button count, so this comparison cannot establish a numerical control advantage for Logitech. It is also not evidence that either mouse has better switch durability; no durability test is supplied.

Which mouse fits each type of buyer?

Choose the Logitech G305 if you:

  • Want the strongest price-to-performance case.
  • Prefer 250 hours of rated use from one replaceable AA battery.
  • Plan to use 2.4GHz gaming wireless and do not need Bluetooth or wired operation.
  • Value HERO tracking specified at 200–12,000 DPI with no smoothing, acceleration or filtering.
  • Want a proven budget option and can accept a 99g body.

Choose the Asus TUF Gaming Mini if you:

  • Want a rechargeable mouse rather than a replaceable-battery design.
  • Need wired, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes in one mouse.
  • Have small-to-medium hands and prefer a 65g right-handed shape.
  • Use palm or claw grip and value the compact form.
  • Like the Hatsune Miku styling enough to pay a premium for it.
  • Mostly play casually and do not require features aimed at tournament-level competition.

Skip the Asus premium when:

  • Your main requirements are low price and maximum battery endurance.
  • You will use only the 2.4GHz dongle and do not care about rechargeability.
  • A stiff, high-resistance scroll wheel would be irritating in long sessions.
  • You expect a 12,000 DPI or 1,000Hz label alone to outperform cheaper gaming mice.

Buying and setup checks

  1. Confirm the current regional price. The cited Asus figures are $109 and £92 from 2026 review coverage; the cited G305 figure is a $39.99 US special price versus $59.99 regular. Check the seller immediately before purchase because both availability and promotions change.
  2. Measure your hand and compare dimensions. The Asus is 4.53 × 2.5 × 1.48 inches and 65g; the G305 is 116.6 × 62.15 × 38.2mm and 99g. Match those numbers to a mouse you already hold comfortably.
  3. Pick the connection you will actually use. Select the Asus dongle or wired mode for gaming and reserve Bluetooth for convenience, since Bluetooth polling is 125Hz. Use the G305’s LIGHTSPEED receiver for its intended gaming connection.
  4. Plan battery maintenance. Keep a charging routine for the Asus’s 134-hour rechargeable battery. Keep a spare AA available for the G305 if uninterrupted use matters more than avoiding disposable cells.
  5. Set expectations for performance. Both top out at 12,000 DPI, but the G305’s published sensor behavior is more explicit. The Asus has been judged adequate for casual play, while competitive players should weigh its limited cited feature set carefully.

Final recommendation

Buy the Logitech G305 unless you have a clear reason to need the Asus TUF Gaming Mini’s extra features. The G305 wins the practical comparison on cited price, rated battery life and a well-defined 2.4GHz gaming sensor specification. It is the sensible budget recommendation for most players.

Buy the Asus when your priorities are different: rechargeable power, three connection modes, a 65g compact body for a small-to-medium hand, or Hatsune Miku styling. It is a decent middle-of-the-road gaming mouse for non-competitive play, but its higher price and shorter rated runtime make it a poor value if those specialized benefits do not matter to you.
