The ASUS TUF GAMING B850I WIFI NEO is a compact AM5 motherboard built around two DDR5 memory slots, two M.2 sockets, Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5Gb Ethernet. Its published specifications make it a plausible starting point for a small Ryzen 7000-, 8000- or 9000-series PC, but they do not establish how fast, cool, quiet or stable it performs. Treat this as a specification-led buying guide, and check CPU support, memory compatibility and case clearances before ordering.

Which CPUs and memory can you use?
SFF.Network’s launch coverage describes support for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors. That broad family list is a starting point, not confirmation that every individual CPU will work with every BIOS version. Before buying, check the exact processor on ASUS’s current CPU support list and confirm any minimum BIOS requirement. ASUS’s support page also provides an English user manual dated 2026-08-07 and a multi-language quick start guide dated 2026-04-08. SFF.Network launch coverage, 2026-04-14 · ASUS support, manuals and compatibility resources
Kakaku.com lists a maximum capacity of 128GB across the board’s two DDR5 slots. SFF.Network reports memory speeds up to DDR5-8200 depending on the processor. That upper speed is conditional: memory data rates above standard settings depend on the CPU, memory kit and configuration, and should not be treated as guaranteed for every system. Check ASUS’s current memory support information for the kit you plan to use rather than choosing on the advertised maximum alone.

Will it fit in a Mini-ITX build?
The board measures 170 × 170 mm, the standard Mini-ITX footprint reported by Kakaku.com. A case must support Mini-ITX, but motherboard fit is only one part of a compact build. The available product information does not verify fit in any particular chassis, so confirm component dimensions and access before settling on a case.
- Check graphics-card length, thickness and slot clearance against the case and any other installed components.
- Compare CPU cooler height or radiator support with the case limits and the surrounding motherboard layout.
- Confirm the power supply’s supported format and cable-routing space.
- Plan airflow around the CPU, GPU and storage, especially where compact layouts leave little room for unobstructed intake and exhaust.
- Make sure the case provides usable access for the front USB-C connection and that its front-panel cable reaches the motherboard header as described in the manual.
The manual is the right reference for connector locations and assembly details; the case maker’s specification is the authority for chassis clearances. Neither the listed dimensions nor the board’s Mini-ITX label proves compatibility with a specific GPU, cooler or case combination.

Is it worth buying?
It is worth considering if your build needs an AM5 Mini-ITX board with two M.2 sockets, Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5Gb wired networking and the listed high-bandwidth USB-C connections. The 8+2+1 80A DrMOS specification and BIOS FlashBack are useful items to compare on paper, but they do not by themselves establish CPU overclocking headroom, thermal behavior or BIOS quality.
There is not enough independent test evidence here to recommend it on benchmark results, temperatures, acoustics, stability or reliability. Kakaku.com’s listing showed no user reviews when accessed on 2026-10-07, so the available market information is also limited. For a value decision, compare local price and availability with other AM5 Mini-ITX boards, then compare M.2 count and generation, networking, USB-C bandwidth, onboard audio, recovery features, power-delivery specifications and the clearances that matter to your case.

What to verify before ordering
- Confirm the exact board model and regional listing. Make sure the product is the TUF GAMING B850I WIFI NEO rather than a similarly named ASUS board.
- Check CPU support. Use the current CPU support list and note any BIOS version requirement for your specific processor.
- Check the memory kit. Confirm DDR5 capacity, module configuration and supported settings; treat high overclocked data rates as conditional on the CPU and kit.
- Read the current manual. Verify storage and front-panel connector locations, installation details and any requirements relevant to your planned components.
- Validate the complete case layout. Check Mini-ITX support along with GPU, cooler, PSU, airflow and cable-access requirements.
- Compare total value locally. Evaluate the features you will use against competing boards and prices available in your region.
