It makes the most sense if you want an immersive gaming display, can drive high frame rates in your games and will use its USB-C and KVM features. If your PC or workload will rarely benefit from 360Hz, its premium price is harder to justify.
What the PG34WCDN offers
This is a 34-inch curved Tandem RGB QD-OLED monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 3440×1440 resolution and 1800R curvature. ASUS lists a maximum 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. That resolution is ultrawide QHD, not 4K.

ASUS also lists HDR10, VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black, 99% DCI-P3 coverage and 10-bit color. Its RGB Stripe pixel layout is designed to improve text clarity compared with older OLED subpixel arrangements. RTINGS reports sharper text than on older QD-OLED layouts, but that review finding is not a guarantee that text will look identical across applications, operating systems or viewing distances.

How it performs for gaming
Fast motion and high frame rates
RTINGS reports smooth motion, fast response, low input lag and strong picture quality. The 360Hz ceiling can benefit competitive games when the PC and game can produce very high frame rates. It does not make every game run at 360 frames per second: demanding titles, graphics settings and hardware can all limit performance. Consider whether your usual games and PC can make meaningful use of the refresh rate rather than treating 360Hz as an automatic benefit.
#1 Best Overall

- Vast visuals: See every detail with VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400, 1000 nits peak HDR brightness and infinite contrast ratio.
- Unrivaled speed: Adaptive sync technologies like NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA AdaptiveSync make games feel effortlessly smooth.
HDR expectations
Tom’s Guide reported HDR brightness measurements of 457–481 nits in a 10% screen-area window and about 279–280 nits across a full-screen window for the modes it tested in 2026. These are that publication’s measurements, not a guaranteed brightness level for every scene or mode. They indicate that small highlights and full-screen brightness are different use cases; judge HDR with that distinction in mind.
Is it practical for desktop work?
The 21:9, 3440×1440 workspace gives you more horizontal room than a conventional 16:9 screen, which can help when arranging a document beside a browser, timeline or other application. The RGB Stripe layout is a notable point for mixed work and gaming: ASUS says it improves text clarity, and RTINGS found improved sharpness versus older QD-OLED layouts. OLED text rendering can still look different depending on your system and use, so the claimed improvement should not be read as a promise that every user will find it indistinguishable from a traditional LCD.

- Ultra Wide QHD Curved Display: 34-inch WQHD (3440 x 1440) 1500R curved gaming monitor with overclock to 250Hz refresh rate designed for professional gamers and immersive gameplay
- Fast Response Time: 0.5ms(min) response time to further reduce ghosting creates fluid gaming experience

- High Dynamic Range Support: HDR technology with DisplayHDR 400 compliance supports HDR-10 format to enhance bright and dark areas
For long periods of static desktop content, OLED care remains relevant. ASUS says OLED Care Pro is intended to reduce burn-in risk; it does not eliminate that risk. ASUS lists a three-year warranty that includes panel burn-in, but warranty terms may vary by market, so check the terms that apply where you buy.
Ports and desk setup

USB-C power and KVM can make it easier to connect and switch between a laptop and desktop, though the benefit depends on your devices and how you use them. ASUS lists no built-in speakers, so plan on separate audio if you need sound from the monitor.
Who should consider it—and who should not?
A strong fit if
- You want a wide OLED display for both immersive games and desktop multitasking.
- Your PC can reach high frame rates in the games where 360Hz matters to you.
- You value the RGB Stripe layout’s reported text-clarity improvement.
- You can use the USB-C charging, KVM, or high-bandwidth DisplayPort connection in your setup.
Look elsewhere if
- You will rarely approach high refresh rates and do not want to pay a premium for headroom you will not use.
- Your work depends on text rendering that you have not had a chance to assess on this OLED layout.
- You need integrated speakers or a 4K resolution.
ASUS’s US store listed a price of $1,299 in August 2026, but prices and stock change. Check the current price in your market before deciding. If you are comparing other 34-inch OLED monitors, weigh refresh rate, DisplayPort bandwidth, HDR support, panel and subpixel layout, text clarity, USB-C and KVM features, warranty terms and current price—not just the OLED label.

How it compares with other 34-inch OLED options
RTINGS identifies the Dell Alienware AW3426DW and MSI MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 as relevant alternatives. Its comparison says the ASUS offers 360Hz and higher DisplayPort bandwidth than the Alienware, while the Alienware supports Dolby Vision. RTINGS describes the MSI as using the same panel and performing similarly, with differences in features. These are useful comparison points, but the best choice depends on the price and feature set available where you live.
Verdict
The PG34WCDN is a compelling premium ultrawide for buyers who will use its combination of OLED image quality, very high refresh rate and flexible connectivity. Its RGB Stripe layout also makes it more plausible for mixed work and play than older OLED text layouts, though it cannot promise perfect text rendering for every setup. The key question is whether your games and PC can benefit from 360Hz—and whether the ports, KVM and panel characteristics are worth the current premium to you.
