HotHardware’s Page 3 testing puts the standard ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti close to the GeForce RTX 4080 in several synthetic and virtual-reality workloads, while its advantage over the RTX 4070 Ti ranges from about 17% to nearly 30% depending on the test. These are HotHardware and Marco Chiappetta’s results, published February 19, 2025—not a current, all-games ranking.

What Page 3 actually tests

This page covers UL 3DMark graphics tests and VR benchmarks. It does not contain the review’s gaming-at-different-resolutions results, which appear on Page 4. The results therefore show how the card behaves in selected synthetic workloads rather than representing every game or application.

The reviewed board is ASUS’s standard Prime model, SKU PRIME-RTX5070TI-16G. It is not the separately specified PRIME-RTX5070TI-O16G OC Edition.

Benchmark results reported by HotHardware

3DMark Speed Way: nearly RTX 4080 performance

Speed Way is a DirectX 12 Ultimate ray-tracing workload. HotHardware found the ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti nipping at the RTX 4080’s performance and running nearly 30% ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti in the review’s comparison. The author also described clock behavior as stable and temperatures as relatively modest, but the accessible page text does not provide numeric clock or temperature readings.

#1 Best Overall
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming OC 16G Graphics Card, 16GB 256-bit GDDR7, PCIe 5.0, WINDFORCE Cooling System, GV-N507TGAMING OC-16GD Video Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  • Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
  • PCIe 5.0
  • WINDFORCE cooling system

3DMark Steel Nomad: a wider gap to the RTX 4080

Steel Nomad uses DirectX 12 without ray tracing. Here, HotHardware reported a larger deficit to the RTX 4080 than in Speed Way, while the RTX 5070 Ti was about 17% faster than the RTX 4070 Ti. AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX finished well ahead in this particular test, illustrating how rankings can change with the workload.

Unigine Superposition VR Future: RTX 4080 nearly level

In Unigine’s VR Future benchmark, HotHardware described the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 4080 as essentially neck-and-neck, with the previous-generation RTX 4080 slightly ahead. The Prime card was reported at roughly twice the RTX 3070 Ti’s performance and about 20% ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti in this test.

VRMark Blue Room: ahead of older 70-class cards

UL VRMark Blue Room produced the familiar ordering among the tested GPUs. The RTX 5070 Ti clearly surpassed previous-generation “70” cards, but it did not catch the RTX 4080 or faster high-end models.

Relative gains in context

Workload API or characteristic Comparison reported by HotHardware What the result means
3DMark Speed Way DirectX 12 Ultimate, ray tracing Nearly 30% ahead of RTX 4070 Ti; close to RTX 4080 Strong result in a modern ray-tracing workload
3DMark Steel Nomad DirectX 12, non-ray-traced About 17% ahead of RTX 4070 Ti; farther behind RTX 4080 Shows a larger spread between the 5070 Ti and 4080 outside ray tracing
Superposition VR Future VR workload About 20% ahead of RTX 4070 Ti; about 2× RTX 3070 Ti; RTX 4080 slightly ahead Near-4080 positioning in this VR scene
VRMark Blue Room VR benchmark Ahead of older 70-class cards, behind RTX 4080 and higher-end cards Strong generational step, but not flagship-tier

HotHardware’s prose supplies these percentages; the numeric chart scores are not transcribed in the accessible page text, so they should not be reconstructed from the chart graphics.

What ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti card was tested?

ASUS lists the standard Prime board with these specifications:

  • 16GB GDDR7 on a 256-bit memory interface
  • 8,960 CUDA cores and 28Gbps memory speed
  • 2,452MHz default boost clock and 2,482MHz OC-mode clock
  • One HDMI 2.1b output and three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs
  • Maximum digital resolution of 7680 × 4320
  • 304 × 126 × 50mm dimensions and a 2.5-slot thickness
  • One 16-pin power connector

See ASUS’s standard-model specification sheet at ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti technical specifications.

Rank #2
ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 White OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card (PCIe 5.0, HDMI/DP 2.1, 3.125 Slot, Military Grade Components, Protective PCB Coating, axial tech Fans)
  • AI Performance: 1406 AI TOPS
  • OC mode boosts clock 2610 MHz (OC mode) /2588 MHz (Default mode)
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Military grade components deliver rock solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability
  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust or debris

Do not confuse it with the OC Edition

The separate PRIME-RTX5070TI-O16G OC Edition is specified at 2,497MHz default boost and 2,527MHz OC-mode boost. Those clocks do not identify the standard card reviewed by HotHardware. Its specifications are listed by ASUS at the Prime RTX 5070 Ti OC Edition page.

Case fit, power and board features

Physical clearance

At 304mm long, 126mm high and 50mm thick, the board occupies 2.5 slots. Check your case’s maximum GPU length, side-panel clearance, adjacent-slot space and front-radiator or drive-cage conflicts before buying. ASUS markets the design as SFF-ready, but that label does not replace measurements for your specific chassis and airflow layout.

Power connection and PSU sizing

ASUS recommends a 750W power supply for a fully overclocked GPU-and-CPU system configuration. This is guidance for the complete system, not a universal minimum for every build. Confirm that your PSU and cable arrangement support the single 16-pin connector, and account for your processor, drives, fans and any manual overclocking.

Manufacturer-described features

ASUS lists triple Axial-tech fans, Dual BIOS, a phase-change thermal pad and fan-stop operation below 50°C, with the fans restarting above 55°C. These are ASUS product claims rather than independent measurements from the HotHardware page. The UK product overview is available at ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti product overview.

How to read this review in 2026

The HotHardware article was published on February 19, 2025. Its percentages describe specific test runs against the named reference cards at that time; they are not current market averages, launch-price guidance or a guarantee of performance in a particular game. Driver updates, game patches, BIOS settings and different power limits can change results. Use Page 3 to judge synthetic ray-tracing and VR positioning, then consult Page 4 for the review’s gaming results.

Verdict from the Page 3 evidence

In HotHardware’s synthetic and VR suite, the standard ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti is a substantial step over the RTX 4070 Ti and often approaches RTX 4080 territory. Its lead is workload-dependent: strongest in Speed Way and VR Future, smaller against the RTX 4080 in Steel Nomad, and still below the RTX 4080 in VRMark Blue Room. Buyers should verify the exact standard-model SKU, 304mm/2.5-slot fit and whole-system 750W power plan before treating these results as a purchase decision.
