The ASUS ExpertCenter Pro ET900N G3 puts NVIDIA’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra platform in a deskside tower, pairing 748GB of coherent memory with workstation-style handles, a 1,600W Titanium-rated power supply, and extra airflow for its high-speed networking optics. Those details make it a distinctive local-AI system, but they do not make it portable or establish a universal performance or thermal guarantee: results depend on the workload, and ASUS’s advertised claims should be separated from the observations of the published hands-on review.
What the ET900N G3 is—and what stands out
The ET900N G3 is ASUS’s deskside implementation of NVIDIA’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra platform on DGX Station architecture. ASUS lists a 72-core Grace CPU, Blackwell Ultra graphics and 748GB of coherent memory. The appeal is a large shared memory pool in a tower intended for local AI development and inference, rather than a conventional workstation built around separate, independently managed components.

Three physical details set this system apart: two top carry handles, a 1,600W Titanium ATX power supply, and a small fan aimed at the ConnectX-8 network card’s QSFP112 cages. The handles make it easier to position or move for service, while the optics fan addresses heat around fiber transceivers. Neither feature changes the fact that the machine is a substantial, high-power deskside system.

748GB coherent memory: the current figure
ASUS’s current product information and June 2026 launch announcement list 748GB of coherent memory. StorageReview describes the platform’s memory as 252GB of HBM3e and 496GB of LPDDR5X. An earlier ASUS announcement from January 2026 gave a different total:
| Source and date | Memory figure | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| ASUS product information and launch release, 2026 | 748GB coherent memory | Current published product figure |
| ASUS CES announcement, January 6, 2026 | 775GB coherent memory | Earlier announcement-era figure, superseded by later ASUS materials |
The discrepancy is a change in published figures, not evidence of two currently orderable memory configurations. For a buyer, the practical point is that the system is designed around a large coherent pool; whether that benefits a given model depends on its memory footprint and software stack.

Handles and chassis: deskside, not portable
StorageReview reports a brushed-silver chassis with a dark mesh front and two handles on top. ASUS lists dimensions of 584 × 232 × 565 mm; the review reports a net weight of 27kg and gross shipping weight of 32kg. The handles are useful for a deliberate move or service access, but this is not a workstation to carry between regular work locations.
The review unit also included an RTX PRO 2000. That is an observation about the reviewed machine, not confirmation that every ET900N G3 configuration includes that card. Confirm the exact orderable configuration and included components with ASUS or the seller.

Why the networking optics have their own fan
The system includes ConnectX-8 networking with two QSFP112 400GbE ports, alongside 10GbE LAN and a separate 1GbE BMC management interface. The QSFP112 cages can accept fiber transceivers or direct-attach copper (DAC) cabling; ASUS lists 400G transceivers as optional, so their inclusion should not be assumed.
In the reviewed system, the GB300, SOCAMM modules and ConnectX-8 had copper cold plates connected to radiators at the front and top, with a rear chassis fan. StorageReview also observed a smaller fan over the ConnectX-8 cold plate, blowing across the QSFP112 cages. The cold plate cools the network chip itself; the separate airflow is relevant because optical transceivers in the cages also produce heat. The review says this fan matters less when using DAC cables, making it most relevant to sustained fiber use.

Cooling design and the limits of the thermal claim
ASUS describes a closed-loop AIO cooling system and claims sustained full-load operation without thermal throttling. StorageReview’s inspection provides useful design context—the cold plates, radiators, fans and airflow across the optics—but does not establish that the system will never throttle across all workloads, ambient temperatures or installations. ASUS specifies an operating temperature range of 10–35°C. Real thermal behavior still depends on the workload and operating environment.

What the performance figures do—and do not—show
The published numbers come from different sources and test conditions, so they should not be read as a direct head-to-head comparison. ASUS’s launch announcement reports its engineering team’s extended vLLM stress test; StorageReview reports tests on its review unit with named models and workload details.
| Source and workload | Reported result | Important context |
|---|---|---|
| ASUS, June 15, 2026: Qwen vLLM test | Approximately 864 output tokens/s | ASUS does not identify the model details in this result |
| ASUS, June 15, 2026: extended vLLM stress test | Approximately 1,600 combined input/output tokens/s | Combined input and output figure; not directly comparable to output-only throughput |
| StorageReview: Mistral Small 24B FP8, equal 512 input/512 output workload | 11,075 output tokens/s | Review-unit result under the stated model and workload |
| StorageReview: Mistral Small 24B FP8, long-prompt test | 2,302 output tokens/s at 128 streams | Different prompt and concurrency conditions from the equal 512/512 test |
| StorageReview: Qwen3 Coder 30B FP8, equal input/output workload | 319 output tokens/s at one stream; 12,439 at 128 streams | Shows how strongly aggregate throughput changes with concurrency |
These results are not a single system-speed rating. Model, precision, prompt and output lengths, serving software, and stream count all affect throughput; aggregate tokens per second at high concurrency also do not tell you the latency a single user will experience. ASUS’s launch figures are at its June 15, 2026 announcement, while the named benchmark results are in StorageReview’s review.
Power, storage, connectivity and software
| Area | Published or observed detail | Buying implication |
|---|---|---|
| Power | ASUS lists a 1,600W Titanium ATX supply and 115–240Vac input. Maximum output depends on regional input voltage and cord assembly. | Confirm the power requirements and supplied cord for the destination region. Titanium is a certification descriptor, not proof of a particular energy saving in this system. |
| Storage | ASUS’s product table lists up to four M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 NVMe drives and 8TB total. The reviewed unit had two 2TB PCIe 5.0 boot drives in RAID 1 and two factory-open expansion slots; the review says ASUS specified those expansion slots as PCIe 6.0. | These are not interchangeable configuration claims. Verify slot generation, populated drives, RAID setup and supported capacity for the exact system being quoted. |
| Ports and network | ASUS lists rear QSFP 400G ports, 10GbE LAN, BMC 1GbE and front USB. StorageReview identifies two QSFP112 400GbE ports on ConnectX-8. | Plan fiber transceivers or DACs according to the deployment; do not assume optional optics are included. |
| Operating system | ASUS lists Ubuntu with NVIDIA AI Developer Tools. Windows-based AI development support is described as planned, without an arrival date in the researched product materials. | For a Windows-dependent workflow, obtain a confirmed compatibility and availability answer before purchase. |
Who should consider it—and what to verify first
The ET900N G3 is most compelling for organizations or developers whose local AI workloads can use the GB300 platform and its coherent memory, and who value a deskside system with high-speed networking. It is less straightforward to evaluate if the priority is quiet, low-power general workstation use, easy portability, or a guaranteed performance number independent of model and serving conditions.
Before committing, ask the vendor to confirm the details that can vary by region or order:
- The current price, exact configuration and included components; no verified street price or complete region-specific configuration is established in the cited materials.
- Whether the selected memory and storage configuration matches the workload, including the expansion-slot specification and the exact drives installed.
- Required power input and cord assembly for the destination region, plus any site requirements for the system’s 1,600W supply.
- Whether fiber transceivers are included or need to be sourced separately, and compatibility for the intended network.
- Ubuntu/software support requirements and a confirmed Windows support status if Windows-based AI development is essential.
ASUS’s January CES announcement used the earlier 775GB memory figure; subsequent product materials list 748GB. The earlier notice is available in ASUS’s January 6, 2026 CES announcement.
