Its 16-core Intel processor, excellent keyboard, built-in Ethernet and HDMI, and unusually useful RAM and SSD expansion make it practical for demanding office work. The compromises are a conventional IPS-level screen, integrated graphics and battery life that is good rather than class-leading.
ASUS ExpertBook P3 P3406CCAP: specifications that matter
The reviewed configuration pairs Intel’s Core Ultra 7 255H with 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. A 14-inch, 1920×1200 IPS-level panel uses a 16:10 ratio, giving documents and spreadsheets more vertical space than a typical 16:9 screen. The chassis takes an understated, practical approach instead of using decorative design elements.

| Specification | Reviewed P3406CCAP configuration |
|---|---|
| Processor | Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, 16 cores and 16 threads |
| Memory | 16GB DDR5 |
| Storage | 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD |
| Display | 14-inch, 1920×1200 IPS-level, 16:10 |
| Battery | 50Wh |
| Price in the review | ₹122,990 |
That configuration should be distinguished from other ExpertBook P3 versions. ASUS announced the wider family on August 7, 2025, in 14-inch and 16-inch formats, including AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO options, configurations with a 70Wh battery, dual-SSD expansion, ExpertGuardian security, a NIST SP 800-155-compliant BIOS, TPM 2.0, five years of BIOS and driver updates, and MIL-STD-810H durability. Those are family-level or configuration-level statements, not specifications that automatically apply to this Intel unit.
How fast is the Core Ultra 7 255H?
The processor is the laptop’s clearest performance advantage. In the review’s testing, it produced the following results:
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Test | P3406CCAP result |
|---|---|
| Cinebench R23 multicore | 17,251 |
| Cinebench R24 multicore | 8,888 |
| PCMark 10 | 9,023 |
| Geekbench 6 multicore | 13,622 |
These scores indicate strong sustained multitasking for a 14-inch business machine. Large spreadsheets, code compilation, photo work, virtual machines and simultaneous browser, video-call and office-app sessions are appropriate workloads. The laptop is not silent under every condition: fans generally stay quiet during routine work, but become noticeable during heavier tasks such as Photoshop.
Keyboard, ports and everyday usability
An excellent typing experience
The keyboard is one of the P3’s best features. The review describes the feedback as satisfying and the layout as easy to adapt to, making it well suited to long periods of writing, coding or data entry. For many business buyers, that consistency matters more than a flashy exterior.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)

Connectivity without dongles
Port selection is unusually office-friendly for a 14-inch laptop. You get Thunderbolt 4, a second USB-C port, two USB-A ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet and a 3.5mm audio jack. Ethernet is useful at a fixed desk or in meeting rooms, while HDMI allows direct connection to projectors and external monitors. The combination also reduces dependence on a USB-C hub.

Display quality: practical, not spectacular
The 1920×1200 resolution and 16:10 shape are well matched to documents and spreadsheets, because the taller canvas shows more rows or lines before scrolling. However, the IPS-level panel lacks the visual impact of an OLED screen. Buyers who watch a lot of HDR video, edit photos for display quality or simply want richer contrast should treat this as a functional work panel rather than a premium entertainment display.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Battery life in tested use
The exact review unit has a 50Wh battery. It lasted approximately seven to eight hours in mixed browsing, Photoshop and Spotify use. In the PCMark 10 video-loop test, it ran for 11 hours 20 minutes. That is respectable for office work, but it trails the comparison systems below under the same video-loop measure:
| Laptop | Battery capacity | PCMark 10 video-loop result |
|---|---|---|
| ASUS ExpertBook P3 P3406CCAP | 50Wh | 11 hours 20 minutes |
| Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i Gen 11 | 60Wh | 12 hours 27 minutes |
| HP OmniBook X 14 | 59Wh | 14 hours 24 minutes |
Actual runtime will vary with brightness, wireless activity, applications and processor load. Heavy compilation, virtual machines or sustained image work will reduce unplugged time more quickly than light document editing.

Upgradeability and business features
Room to grow
The reviewed machine has two SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 storage positions. That gives businesses a practical path to add memory or storage instead of replacing the laptop when workloads expand. ASUS’s product-page specifications for the family list support for up to 64GB of DDR5 memory and up to 3TB of dual-SSD storage, but buyers should confirm that those maximums apply to the exact regional P3406CCAP configuration before ordering parts.
Security and durability context
ASUS lists a fingerprint sensor, TPM 2.0, Windows 11 Secured-core technologies and MIL-STD-810H construction for specified ExpertBook P3 configurations. The family announcement also describes ExpertGuardian protections, the NIST SP 800-155-compliant BIOS and five years of BIOS and driver updates. Treat these as configuration and family claims; verify the retailer’s exact specification sheet when a security feature is mandatory for your organization.

Graphics limits and who should buy it
Integrated Intel graphics handle office applications, video playback and ordinary creative work, but they lag laptops with stronger graphics hardware in GPU-heavy applications and gaming. This is not the right choice for serious 3D rendering, modern gaming or workflows that depend on a discrete GPU.
Recommended for
- Professionals who compile code, run virtual machines or handle large multitasking sessions.
- Office users who type extensively and need Ethernet, HDMI and legacy USB-A ports.
- Businesses that want accessible RAM and SSD expansion.
- Buyers who prefer a restrained, work-focused design.
Consider another class of laptop if you need
- OLED-level contrast and more vivid media presentation.
- The longest possible battery life away from a charger.
- Discrete graphics for demanding 3D or gaming workloads.
Final buying advice
The ASUS ExpertBook P3 P3406CCAP earns an 8/10 review rating because it concentrates on the things that make a business laptop dependable: fast multicore performance, a comfortable keyboard, practical ports and serviceable internals. At ₹122,990, it is easiest to justify when those qualities matter more than display spectacle or class-leading endurance. Before purchase, confirm the current regional price, the installed battery and the exact memory, SSD, biometric and security options, since the ExpertBook P3 name covers multiple configurations.
