In TechPP’s review, the 14-inch Intel Core Ultra 7 255H model with a 50 Wh battery delivered an estimated 8–9 hours of basic use—not a guaranteed full day away from an outlet. Its keyboard, ports and upgrade options make a stronger case for desk-based work than its screen and endurance do for frequent travel.
What did TechPP test?
TechPP’s 2026 review covered a 14-inch ExpertBook P3 G1 with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor and a 50 Wh, three-cell battery. The reviewer’s findings apply to that unit, not every laptop sold under the P3 name. ASUS’s regional listings show that capacity and other specifications can differ even among 14-inch Intel configurations.

The P3 name also spans distinct generations. ASUS’s August 7, 2025 announcement covered AMD-powered PM3406 (14-inch) and PM3606 (16-inch) models. Those are not the Intel G1 configuration reviewed here, so their processor, battery or runtime figures should not be assigned to it. ASUS’s 2025 announcement provides background on that earlier AMD generation.
How long does the battery last?
TechPP’s 50 Wh Intel review unit
Reviewer Ramesh Reddy estimated about 8–9 hours for basic use and 4–5 hours with medium-to-heavy gaming on the tested 14-inch Intel unit. These are reviewer-observed estimates, not results from a published, controlled battery protocol. Gaming is a demanding workload, so the shorter estimate should not be treated as typical office runtime.

Why ASUS’s 19-hour figure is different
ASUS advertises up to 19 hours for its 16-inch Intel G1 page, which describes a 70 Wh battery. That is a manufacturer’s maximum claim for a different configuration, not a result for TechPP’s 50 Wh 14-inch review unit. ASUS says actual battery life varies with configuration, usage, operating conditions and power management; capacity also declines over the battery’s lifetime. Its page states 49 minutes to reach 65% charge under controlled conditions and notes that charging time may vary. See ASUS’s 16-inch ExpertBook P3 G1 specifications and qualifications.
Other reviews use different systems and tests
Two AMD P3 review results provide context, but they are not directly comparable to the Intel G1 result. PCWorld measured 768 minutes (12.8 hours) on a 70 Wh AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 configuration while looping a local 4K video at 250 nits, with airplane mode enabled, until the laptop suspended. PCWorld cautions that ordinary use will be shorter. PCWorld’s review describes its test method.

ITPro reported 16 hours and 27 minutes from a 70 Wh AMD review unit in a looping-video test at 170 cd/m². It noted that brighter real-world use could still cover a working day, while recommending taking the charger on a trip. Read ITPro’s review. Because these tests cover AMD configurations with their own protocols and screen settings, their larger figures do not establish that the Intel 14-inch G1 lasts longer or shorter under the same workload.

Keyboard and connections
TechPP praised the keyboard’s 1.5 mm key travel, a useful trait for long stretches of typing. The reviewed configuration’s listed connections include Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, a second full-function USB-C port, USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet and an audio jack. That range can reduce reliance on adapters when connecting a monitor, wired network or common peripherals.

Memory and storage expansion
The reviewed unit has two SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 slots, giving buyers room to expand memory or storage rather than treating the initial configuration as fixed. Confirm the exact SKU and its upgrade compatibility before buying components; the review does not establish compatible aftermarket parts for every regional model.
Camera and security basics
The review unit includes a 1080p FHD infrared camera with Windows Hello support and a physical privacy shutter. These are practical business features, though the reviewer judged webcam quality average; the presence of an IR camera does not by itself make video image quality a strength.

What are the main drawbacks?
- Battery endurance: The tested 50 Wh unit’s basic-use estimate is less reassuring for travel or long stretches away from a charger than the up-to-19-hour claim associated with ASUS’s separate 70 Wh 16-inch configuration.
- Display color: TechPP criticized the reviewed display’s color coverage. That matters for work involving color-sensitive design or image editing, even if it may be less important for documents and spreadsheets.
- Webcam quality: The reviewer found it average, despite the camera’s IR login support and privacy shutter.
- Warmth: TechPP reported that the laptop gets warm, a potential consideration during sustained demanding workloads.
- AI feature eligibility: The tested Core Ultra 7 255H NPU is rated up to 13 TOPS. TechPP notes this is below the threshold it cites for Copilot+ PC features, so buyers seeking that class of on-device AI functionality should verify the requirements of the specific features they need.
Which ExpertBook P3 configuration should you choose?
Start with the full model number and regional listing, then compare the battery and other components rather than relying on the family name. For example, ASUS Malaysia lists the 14-inch Intel P3406CCAP-LY5150WS, part number 90NX0AM1-M008W0, with a Core Ultra 7 255H, a 1920 × 1200 WUXGA 16:10 display rated at 300 nits, a 512 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, a 70 Wh battery and a 65 W USB-C adapter. That is a regional store listing—not proof that it is the same configuration TechPP tested. Check ASUS Malaysia’s listing for the P3406CCAP-LY5150WS.

For a desk-centered workload, the 14-inch Intel G1’s keyboard, port selection and upgradeability are more compelling than its battery estimate. If your work involves frequent travel, choose only after confirming the battery capacity in the exact SKU you can buy and deciding whether its screen and runtime fit your needs. A larger battery listing is not a guarantee of a particular working-day result.

Is it a good business laptop for your workload?
Choose the ExpertBook P3 G1 if you value a practical keyboard, broad built-in connectivity and the option to expand memory and storage, and you can verify that the configuration meets your battery needs. It is a less convincing fit if unplugged endurance, strong display color, top-tier webcam quality, cool operation under sustained load or Copilot+ PC capability is central to your work. For any purchase, compare the exact regional SKU—not just “ExpertBook P3 G1”—against those priorities.
