Astell&Kern’s UK product page displayed £2,299 when accessed, so treat the reference price as an attributed comparison rather than a settled RRP. What the ACRO CA1000T does
The CA1000T is more than a desktop headphone amplifier. Astell&Kern describes it as an all-in-one Head-Fi system: a digital audio player, DAC and headphone amplifier, with wired and wireless connections for other sources and equipment. That makes the reported £530 price most relevant to someone who wants several audio functions in one battery-powered device, rather than an amplifier alone.

Its headline hardware includes dual ESS ES9039MPRO DACs, two KORG Nutube 6P1 tubes, a three-mode amplifier design and four gain levels. The manufacturer lists PCM playback up to 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD512. These are specifications, not independent listening-test results. Connections and headphone compatibility
Check your headphones’ plug before buying. The CA1000T provides four headphone sockets: 3.5 mm and 6.35 mm unbalanced, plus 2.5 mm and 4.4 mm balanced. Astell&Kern specifies a maximum balanced output of 15 Vrms at the highest gain setting under a no-load condition; that figure should not be read as a typical output for every headphone or listening setup.

Whether those features matter depends on how you listen: for example, whether you need local music storage, external digital sources, or analogue output to another system.
Battery life and playback format matter
This is a battery-powered unit, but the manufacturer’s “about 11 hours” playback estimate applies to a specific configuration: FLAC at 16-bit/44.1 kHz, unbalanced output, volume 40, screen off, OP AMP mode and low gain. Different settings and use may produce different results; the estimate is not an independent test. The battery capacity is specified as 10,100 mAh.

How to judge the £530 price
T3’s 6 October 2026 article reported £530 on Amazon UK and called it a 77% reduction against a £2,300 usual-price comparison. Astell&Kern’s UK page displayed £2,299 when accessed. The one-pound gap is consistent with rounding, but neither figure establishes that the Amazon offer remains live or that every listing has the same seller or terms.
