What is Assetto Corsa Competizione?
ACC is the official GT World Challenge video game, developed by Kunos Simulazioni and published by 505 Games. The PC edition was released on 29 May 2019. What makes the racing experience different?
ACC’s official feature description centers on changing race conditions. It describes races spanning the full day-to-night arc, with weather and track state changing during an event. Rain intensity, sunlight and temperature influence wetness; rubber and marbles accumulate on the track as cars run. These systems make conditions part of the race rather than a fixed visual backdrop. The game offers single-player and online competition. Steam also lists PvP and LAN PvP features for the PC edition. The official site describes crossplay between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; do not assume that this means crossplay with PC or that every platform has identical online features.
Can you play ACC with a controller?
Yes. A steering wheel is not a stated requirement: ACC supports gamepads as well as wheels. 505 Games says Windows controllers recognized through DirectInput can be used and explicitly names Logitech G25, G27, G29 and G920 wheels among supported Logitech devices. A listed device is a useful starting point, not a promise that every setup behaves identically on every platform. 505 Games notes that an unlisted device is not necessarily incompatible, but may not be fully supported. Choosing a wheel for ACC
If you want a wheel, verify the exact model and platform before purchasing. The Logitech G29 is one model named by 505 Games, making it a grounded option to investigate—not a guarantee of compatibility with every console or configuration. Compare devices using practical fit rather than assuming a higher price means better results:

- Support status: Check whether the exact model appears in 505 Games’ list; if it does not, treat support as uncertain.
- Included equipment: Compare pedals and whether a shifter is included or sold separately.
- Space and mounting: Make sure your desk or rig can accommodate the wheel and pedals.
- Settings: ACC allows peripheral settings to be customized, so a wheel may require setup after connection.
Do not buy a wheel on the assumption that it is required to play or that an expensive setup will automatically make you faster. Controller play remains an option.
Does ACC support VR and triple screens?
Yes. The official game site describes VR and triple-screen support. For PC, Steam marks ACC as VR supported and names SteamVR or Oculus PC in its published requirements. VR or a multi-screen setup is an optional way to play, not a requirement. Compatibility depends on the platform and the hardware and software configuration; the PC VR information should not be generalized to console editions.

ACC has add-on packs that expand its cars, circuits or seasonal content. The official site lists packs including GT2 Pack, 2023 GT World Challenge Pack, American Track Pack, Challengers Pack, British GT Pack, 2020 GT World Challenge Pack, GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack and Nürburgring 24h Pack. Steam’s listing presents nine add-ons and an Ultimate Edition bundle; the Xbox store lists separate add-ons and editions. The included content can differ by store, platform and edition, so compare what you already own with the exact pack or bundle before purchasing.
