For most players, the choice is between Standard and Complete. Standard is the base game alone. Complete adds Dawn of Ragnarök, the Ultimate Pack, and the Season Pass. Deluxe is a smaller upgrade that adds only the Ultimate Pack, while Ragnarök adds only the named expansion. Your best buy depends on whether you want the extra content, the live price, your platform and region, and whether you already own any downloadable content.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla editions at a glance
Ubisoft Help’s edition guide, updated September 30, 2026, lists six packages. The table uses Ubisoft’s current names and contents rather than older launch-era labels.

| Edition | What Ubisoft lists | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Assassin’s Creed Valhalla base game | Players who want the core game and no bundled extras |
| Deluxe | Base game plus Ultimate Pack | Players who want the cosmetic and gear bundle without the larger expansion package |
| Ragnarök | Base game plus Dawn of Ragnarök | Players specifically seeking that expansion |
| Complete | Base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass | Players who want the broadest bundle in Ubisoft’s current list |
| Collector | Base game, Ultimate Pack, Season Pass and physical collector items | Collectors who can verify an individual copy’s contents and digital-code status |
| Ubisoft+ Premium | Base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass | Subscribers evaluating the included game package as part of a subscription |
Ubisoft cautions that contents can vary by region. That warning matters for console boxes, used copies, imported listings and storefronts that use a different product name. Treat the exact listing for your platform and country as authoritative before paying.
What the base game and each add-on actually mean
Standard Edition: the core game
Standard contains the base game only. It is the straightforward option if you want to play Valhalla’s main campaign and do not need a bundled expansion, cosmetic set or season-pass entitlement. It is also the cleanest choice when an existing account already owns the additional content separately.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check that the listing is for your console generation or PC storefront. A disc can be tied to a particular platform family, and a digital key can be region restricted even when the product title looks identical.
Deluxe Edition: the Ultimate Pack, not the expansion
Deluxe adds the Ultimate Pack to the base game. It does not appear in Ubisoft’s current contents table as including Dawn of Ragnarök or the Season Pass. Choose it only when the pack’s items are worth the price difference over Standard and you do not need the larger bundle.
Ubisoft’s April 2020 launch announcement described the Ultimate Pack as a collection of themed gear, mounts, settlement and longship items, and runes. Its announced contents were:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Berserker Gear Pack, including a Bearded Axe, Ursine Guard Light Shield, raven skin, Hati Wolf Mount and Berserker Set for Eivor
- Berserker Longship Pack
- Berserker Settlement Pack
- A set of runes
The announcement is historical product information. A current store page or regional listing can describe entitlements differently, so use the live listing when deciding between Standard and Deluxe.
Ragnarök Edition: the named expansion
Ragnarök combines the base game with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök. It is the logical comparison for someone who specifically wants that expansion but is not interested in the Ultimate Pack or the other Season Pass entitlement listed with Complete.
If the price gap to Complete is small, compare what you would receive for the additional money. If the gap is large and the cosmetic pack and Season Pass do not matter to you, Ragnarök can be the more economical targeted purchase.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Complete Edition: the all-in bundle in the current list
Complete includes the base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, the Ultimate Pack and the Season Pass. It is the widest package in Ubisoft Help’s current edition guide. That makes it the default comparison for a new buyer who wants the game plus its major bundled extras.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Complete is not automatically the best value. A low sale price can make it compelling, while a high price or an account that already owns the expansion can make Standard or Deluxe more sensible. Confirm exactly which entitlements are missing from your library before buying a second copy.
Ubisoft+ Premium Edition: a subscription entitlement
Ubisoft Help lists the Ubisoft+ Premium package with the same game, expansion, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass combination shown for Complete. The edition name describes what the subscription includes; it is not the same purchase decision as owning a permanent standalone license. Compare the subscription’s current terms, access rules and duration separately from the contents of the game package.
What the Season Pass changes—and what the listing does not spell out
Ubisoft’s current edition table identifies the Season Pass as part of Complete and Collector, but the table does not enumerate every entitlement inside that pass. Do not assume that a retailer’s shorthand, an old review or a second-hand seller’s description uses the same scope. Open the exact platform listing and read the included-content panel before checkout.
When comparing two copies, separate three questions:

- Are the Ultimate Pack items included as a redeemable entitlement, a preinstalled item or not at all?
This distinction prevents paying for Complete when your account already owns one of its components, and it helps identify listings that use a premium-sounding name without listing the corresponding extras.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Why older guides mention Gold and Ultimate
Many launch articles and marketplace listings use names that do not match Ubisoft Help’s current edition list. Ubisoft’s April 30, 2020 announcement described four launch-era names: Standard, Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s.
| Launch-era name | Contents described in the 2020 announcement | How to interpret it today |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Base game | Usually the least ambiguous name, but still verify platform and region |
| Gold | Base game plus Season Pass | An older label; do not assume a current store uses it or that it has the same bundle |
| Ultimate | Base game, Season Pass and Ultimate Pack | An older label that should not be treated as identical to today’s Complete listing |
| Collector’s | Base game, Season Pass, Ultimate Pack and physical collector items | Check whether a resale copy is complete and whether codes were redeemed |
The same announcement identified Way of the Berserker as a preorder bonus. That does not make it a guaranteed inclusion in every current Standard, Deluxe, Ragnarök or Complete listing. A listing must explicitly state that bonus if it is important to you.
Collector Edition: what was announced and what to verify
Ubisoft’s 2020 Collector Edition announcement described a substantial physical package. The announced contents included:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- A 30 cm Eivor figurine positioned at the prow of her longship
- A 5 cm Eivor statuette with a raven and Dane axe
- An illustrated Collector’s Case
- An exclusive steelbook
- Three lithographs
- A serialized certificate of authenticity
- A selected soundtrack CD
- The base game, Season Pass and Ultimate Pack
Those are historical announced contents, not proof that new stock exists today or that a used box contains every part. Collector listings often separate the disc, code card and display pieces, and digital entitlements may have been redeemed by the first owner.
Collector Edition inspection checklist
- Identify the exact platform: PlayStation, Xbox or PC versions are not interchangeable.
- Ask whether the game is a disc, an unused digital code or an account-bound entitlement.
- Request photographs of the steelbook, cases, lithographs, certificate and both figures rather than relying on a stock image.
- Confirm whether the Season Pass and Ultimate Pack codes have been redeemed. A complete physical box can still lack usable digital content.
- Check the seller’s region and language information. Imported products may not activate or may carry different package contents.
- Price the physical items separately from the game license; do not pay a collector premium for an incomplete set unless that is your deliberate goal.
US Ubisoft Store price snapshot from October 13, 2026
At the time checked on October 13, 2026, the US Ubisoft Store displayed the following sale prices. These are a dated storefront snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or a guide to other countries and platforms.
| Edition | Displayed sale price | Displayed list price | Store release date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $12 | $59.99 | November 10, 2020 |
| Deluxe | $16 | $79.99 | August 5, 2021 |
| Ragnarök | $20 | $99.99 | March 10, 2022 |
| Complete | $28 | $139.99 | March 10, 2022 |
Within that particular US snapshot, Complete was the lowest-cost way among those four listings to obtain the expansion, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass together. That is an inference from the displayed bundle contents and prices on that date, not a universal value judgment. Sale timing, platform fees, regional pricing and content you already own can change the result.

Which edition is worth buying for your situation?
Choose Standard when you want only the main game
Standard is the rational choice when you plan to play the base campaign, want the lowest compatible purchase price and do not care about the bundled cosmetics or expansion. It is also suitable when an existing account already has Dawn of Ragnarök, the Ultimate Pack or the Season Pass.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesChoose Deluxe when the Ultimate Pack is the only extra you want
Deluxe makes sense if the Ultimate Pack’s gear, mount, settlement, longship and rune items appeal to you but the expansion bundle does not. Compare Deluxe with Standard plus any separately available pack, because a sale can reverse which route is cheaper.
Choose Ragnarök when the expansion is your priority
Ragnarök is the focused option for a player who specifically wants Dawn of Ragnarök. Before buying, compare it with Complete rather than assuming the narrower package is cheaper at checkout. Complete may cost only a little more during a sale, while Ragnarök may be preferable when the extras have no value to you.
Choose Complete for the broadest standalone bundle
Complete is the strongest default for a new player who wants the base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass in one purchase. It is particularly attractive when its live price is close to Ragnarök’s price. Skip the upgrade when you already own one or more of those entitlements or when your platform store does not support the listed content.
Choose Collector only for the physical collection
Collector is about the objects as much as the software. Buy it when the figures, case, steelbook, lithographs, certificate and soundtrack justify the cost and you can verify condition and code status. It is a poor choice if you simply want the game and digital content at the lowest price.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Consider Ubisoft+ Premium only if access is the goal
The Premium package can suit someone who already wants the subscription for its broader catalog and values temporary access to this bundle. If you want permanent ownership of Valhalla, compare the subscription’s ongoing cost with a standalone edition instead of treating the package name as an ownership guarantee.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Platform, format and region checks before checkout
Ubisoft’s official game page lists Valhalla on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Amazon Luna, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, Steam and Ubisoft+. Store availability can change, and an edition sold on one platform may not transfer to another.
- Match the platform. Confirm the product is for your exact console family or PC storefront. Do not rely on a shared cover image.
- Match the region. Ubisoft says contents may vary by region. Check the country storefront, activation region and any age or language restrictions.
- Match the format. Decide whether you are buying a disc, a key, a download or subscription access. Each has different resale and redemption implications.
- Read the included-content panel. Look for explicit entries for Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass rather than assuming the edition name is enough.
- Check account ownership. Review your platform library and add-on management page so you do not purchase content you already have.
- Review seller and return terms. Used codes may be spent, and opened software may be non-returnable. Keep screenshots of the listing if the bundle description is unclear.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Mistaking Ultimate for Complete
Ultimate is a launch-era label associated with the base game, Season Pass and Ultimate Pack. Complete is the current Help-list name that adds Dawn of Ragnarök to those broader contents. Never infer the expansion from the word Ultimate alone.
Assuming a preorder bonus is included
Way of the Berserker was identified as a preorder bonus in the 2020 announcement. Unless the live listing explicitly includes it, treat it as unavailable or uncertain rather than guaranteed.
Buying an incomplete Collector resale
A box can look authentic while missing a figure, steelbook, lithographs or redeemed digital codes. Use the inspection checklist and ask for itemized confirmation before paying a collector premium.
Comparing list prices instead of live totals
The October 13, 2026 US prices were sale prices. A different sale, tax, currency conversion or platform store can make the same editions rank differently. Compare the final price in your own storefront at the moment of purchase.
Ignoring duplicate entitlements
If your account already owns the base game or an expansion, a bundle may not convert the duplicate into credit. Verify ownership first and calculate the value of only the content you would actually receive.
A simple decision process
- Start with the content. Need only the base game? Start at Standard. Need the expansion? Compare Ragnarök and Complete. Want the Ultimate Pack but not the expansion bundle? Compare Deluxe and Standard.
- Check your library. Record which of the base game, Ultimate Pack, Dawn of Ragnarök and Season Pass you already own.
- Filter by platform and region. Remove every listing that cannot activate on your hardware, account or country.
- Compare the live prices. Use the final checkout total, not an old article’s list price or a launch-era recommendation.
- For physical copies, verify completeness. Confirm discs, codes and collector objects independently.
- Buy the smallest package that supplies what you will use. Upgrade to Complete only when its additional content and current price justify the difference.
Bottom line on value
Standard is the sensible low-cost entry point for the base game. Deluxe is a niche upgrade for the Ultimate Pack. Ragnarök targets players who specifically want Dawn of Ragnarök. Complete is the broadest current bundle and, in the October 13, 2026 US snapshot, the cheapest of the four listed editions for obtaining the expansion, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass together. Those conclusions apply only after you confirm your platform, region, existing entitlements and the live seller listing.
