ASKO HI1621G Review: Features, Dimensions and What the Evidence Shows

The ASKO HI1621G is a 60 cm, four-zone induction hob with two bridgeable zones on the right and a listed connected load of 7.4 kW. ASKO’s specifications document its layout, controls and fit dimensions, but the public evidence available for this review does not establish how it performs in comparative cooking tests. In Australia, CHOICE lists it as discontinued; that does not establish availability in other markets.

What the ASKO HI1621G offers

The HI1621G is a frameless, black ceramic-glass, built-in induction hob. ASKO’s product sheet lists four cooking zones, SliderTouch controls, auto pan detection, pause, power boost and a residual-heat indicator. ASKO also describes its flexible cooking area as Real Bridge. The official manual covers operation, bridging, timers, locking and pan suitability.

These are documented features, not independent findings about control responsiveness, cooking consistency or ease of use. The available public CHOICE listing does not show its model-specific scores, so the evidence does not support a performance ranking against other hobs.

Cooking zones and bridge area

The zones have different diameters and power ratings. The ratings below are from ASKO’s product sheet; the second power figure is the boost rating where one is listed.

Position Zone size Rated power Boost power
Front left Ø16.5 cm 1.2 kW 1.4 kW
Front right 20 × 20 cm 1.6 kW 1.85 kW
Rear left Ø20.5 cm 2.3 kW 3.0 kW
Rear right 20 × 20 cm 2.1 kW 3.0 kW

The two square zones on the right are the bridgeable pair. CHOICE lists a maximum bridge footprint of 40 × 22 cm and individual bridged-zone dimensions of 18 × 22 cm. Those are guidance for cookware footprint, not a guarantee that every pan of those dimensions will heat evenly; check the manual’s pan requirements and the instructions for the exact regional model.

Before ordering, compare the actual worktop opening and cabinet clearance with the installation documentation for the local version. Do not treat product-sheet dimensions alone as installation instructions: the exact manual, worktop construction, ventilation and local requirements matter.

Electrical load and installation

ASKO specifies a connected load of 7,400 W and a frequency range of 50–60 Hz. A hob at this listed load needs an appropriate local supply and installation arrangement; the product-sheet figure does not determine the circuit, protective devices or wiring method for a particular home. Have a qualified professional assess the installation against the regional instructions and applicable electrical rules.

Is the ASKO HI1621G any good?

The specifications make it a potentially useful option for someone seeking four induction zones in a 60 cm format, especially if the right-side bridge suits their cookware. Its zone capacities are uneven: the front-left zone is the smallest and lowest-powered, while both rear zones have 3.0 kW boost ratings. Whether that layout suits a household depends on the pans and cooking patterns it uses.

A stronger verdict on cooking speed, low-heat control, usability or value would require accessible test results or hands-on evaluation. CHOICE says the model was tested in 2023 or earlier, but its Expert Rating, cooking and ease-of-use scores, low- and high-heat scores, and boil time are members-only. No public quantified long-term reliability or satisfaction evidence for this exact model is established here.

Availability and price depend on market

CHOICE’s Australian listing labels the HI1621G discontinued and displays A$1,699. That is a listing detail accessed in 2026, not a verified current price or a global availability statement. Check with ASKO or local retailers for stock and service support in your country before making a decision. With the touch of the Precision Key, the cooktop smoothly reaches your desired temperature instead of heating too aggressively, helping deliver more reliable performance for everyday cooking and delicate dishes alike.
  • INDEPENDENT CONTROLS – Two control panels allow you to adjust each cooking zone independently. With large 8” heating zones and a weight capacity of 25 pounds per side, you can boil pasta on one side while simmering sauces on the other.

Verdict

The ASKO HI1621G is best judged from its documented fit, four-zone layout, bridge footprint and 7.4 kW load—not from an unsupported claim that it cooks better than competing models. It may suit a kitchen whose cutout, electrical provision and cookware align with those specifications. Its hands-on performance remains unproven by the public evidence described here, and its Australian discontinued status makes local stock especially important to verify.
