Roughly $32 billion of Nebius’s customer commitments can be called firm, but that number is an analyst’s sum, not a figure Nebius reports. Motley Fool writer Daniel Sparks (syndicated by AOL, October 5, 2026) added three disclosed contract values: about $17.4 billion from Microsoft, about $2.9 billion from Meta’s first order, and $12 billion from Meta’s March 2026 orders. That comes to about $32.3 billion. A separate “up to $15 billion” Meta order is left out because it is potential value, not a fixed order.
The $32 billion, line by line
| Component | Amount | Source and status |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft GPU capacity agreement (five years, signed September 2025) | Up to $17,392.9 million in estimated fees | Nebius 2025 Form 20-F; subject to deployment and availability |
| Meta first order (November 2025) | About $2.9 billion over five years | Nebius 2025 Form 20-F |
| Meta orders under the second agreement (March 2026) | $12 billion, five years, deployments beginning early 2027 | Nebius March 2026 SEC filing |
| Author’s subtotal | About $32 billion | Motley Fool calculation, October 5, 2026 |
| Meta order for capacity Nebius intends to sell to third parties | Up to $15 billion | Potential value; excluded from the subtotal |
Nebius’s filings disclose these agreements separately. None of them reports a combined $32 billion.

Why “firm” needs qualifying
Contract value, potential value, backlog, recognized revenue and cash received are different measures. A signed contract does not say when services will be delivered or when revenue will appear in the income statement. Even the firm bucket therefore describes commitments, not near-term earnings. Nothing in the filings reviewed supports converting these amounts into revenue for a particular quarter or year. For that, you need a period-specific filing or company statement.
Microsoft: the strongest commitment, with a condition
The 20-F says Microsoft committed to pay “fees under the Microsoft Agreement estimated to be up to $17,392.9, irrespective of actual utilization of the GPU capacity.” That is the key point. Microsoft owes the fees whether or not it uses the capacity.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Powerful Load-bearing】12U Network Rack Open Frame is constructed from durable cold rolled steel; Rack shelf supports enhance stability, wall-mounted capacity of 130lbs, the ground-mounted up to 260lbs
- 【Considerate Designs】Open-frame layout, including a top panel adding space, anti-slip shelf stops fixing devices and compatible racks for stack and expansion to meet requirements of home server rack
- 【Complete Accessories】A 12U open frame server rack, two ventilated shelves, four shelf stops, four velcro straps and a set of equipment mounting screws
- 【Versatile Application】Ideal for space-efficient multi-device setups in warehouses, retail, classrooms, offices and more; Excellent choices as AV Rack/IT Rack
- 【Effortless Setup】 Network Rack includes hardware, a comprehensive manual, mounting hole drilling template and an online assembly video to simplify setup
- Payment timing: the filing records approximately $6,958.1 million in aggregate upfront payments. The remaining consideration is invoiced monthly through October 2031.
- The condition: the commitment is subject to deployment and availability of the GPU services. Nebius has to build and deliver the capacity before the fees are fully secured.
- Possible upside: if Microsoft acquires additional services or capacity, a September 2025 Nebius filing puts total contract value at about $19.4 billion. That is an option, not the base case, and it is not in the $32 billion.
Meta: two fixed orders and one conditional one
The fixed orders
The first order is about $2.9 billion over five years. Nebius’s March 2026 filing states, “These Meta Orders have a total contract value of $12 billion.” Those orders also run five years, with deployments starting in early 2027. Revenue from the larger set therefore sits further out than the Microsoft ramp.
The “up to $15 billion” order
This separate order covers certain capacity Nebius intends to sell to other customers. Under the contract terms, Meta pays for specified capacity that remains unsold. The size of Meta’s obligation therefore depends on how much Nebius sells elsewhere, which is why “up to” is the right label and why the order does not belong in a firm total.

- Space Saving: Maximum depth: 14.8". Use the wall mount network cabinet to maximize available space for retail locations, classrooms, back offices, network cabinets, and other locations where space is limited.
- Fast Heat Dissipation: The server cabinet is designed with vents to optimize airflow and avoid critical IT equipment overheating. Heat sink holes in the top, bottom, and rear panels are more conducive to heat dissipation.
- Sturdy Construction: Robust welded frame construction for durability and long service life. With 100 lbs wall-mounted load capacity and 200 lbs ground-mounted load capacity, you can place multiple devices in the server rack cabinet as needed.
- High Security: The locked glass door ensures the security of data and equipment. Wall mount rack enclosure server cabinet is ideal for use in public places such as offices, effectively protecting the security of your devices.
- Hassle-free Installation: Fully adjustable square-hole mounting rails of the wall mount server cabinet facilitate device installation. Wiring holes on the top, bottom, and rear panels provide you with easy cable routing.
What the official filings do not establish
The filings support the contract structures above. They do not independently confirm the other figures in the Motley Fool piece, such as its backlog trend, customer revenue-share percentages, or its estimate of how quickly backlog converts to revenue. Treat those as the author’s claims. The article’s underlying worry is also worth keeping in view: a few very large customers account for most of the committed value, and Nebius must deploy GPU infrastructure on schedule across multi-year terms.

How to read any “firm” AI-cloud figure
- Check whether the amount is a fixed order or an “up to” figure.
- Look for conditions such as deployment, availability or customer acceptance.
- Find out whether the customer pays regardless of usage, as Microsoft does here.
- Note the term and delivery schedule. Meta’s $12 billion starts in 2027.
- Separate optional expansions (Microsoft’s $19.4 billion case) from the base contract.
- Do not equate contract value with recognized revenue or cash received.
