Actual visibility can vary with mounting height, obstructions, weather, reflective surfaces and the amount of ambient light, so the 20-foot figure should be treated as a specification rather than a guaranteed identification distance.
Subscription requirements and video history
Arlo says live streaming and basic alerts work without a subscription. The purchase includes a one-month trial of an Arlo Secure plan, which adds enhanced alerts and video-history features. Without a subscription, the doorbell can still provide its core live-view and basic-notification functions according to Arlo’s listing, but the additional alert intelligence and stored-video features associated with Secure should not be assumed to continue after the trial.
