Those are manufacturer-published figures, not independently verified performance results in the available information. CHOICE lists the model as tested, but its numerical Expert Rating is member-only. Here’s what the published specifications, review listing and replacement-filter details establish—and what they don’t.
What is the Arlec APR005HA?
Arlec identifies the APR005HA as its Grid Connect Smart Big Room Air-Purifier with UV-C Light. Its product page describes a five-stage filtration system, UV-C, anion purification and a PM2.5 sensor, alongside app control through Grid Connect. These are product features claimed by Arlec; they do not establish a particular health outcome or independently measured cleaning performance.

These are published claims, not a substitute for independently measured results under stated test conditions. The available CHOICE page extract does not disclose its detailed test rating or findings.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
CHOICE lists the purifier’s dimensions as 60 × 40 × 20 cm (H × W × D) and its weight as 9.5 kg. Those measurements may help assess whether it will fit your room, but they do not tell you how it performs at different fan speeds or in a particular room layout. Arlec also lists 60 dB, without the measurement conditions needed for a like-for-like noise comparison.
What does CHOICE’s review say?
CHOICE lists the APR005HA as a tested model, but the numerical Expert Rating is available to members only in the accessible listing. Without that rating or visible detailed test results, it is not possible to report CHOICE’s score, infer a recommendation or treat the manufacturer’s CADR and coverage figures as CHOICE findings. The CHOICE listing identifies a one-year warranty and gives a two-month change interval for its HEPA charcoal filter.

- Room fit: Compare your room’s area with Arlec’s 24–40 m² claim, while treating it as a manufacturer specification rather than verified coverage.
- Evidence of performance: The visible CHOICE listing confirms the model is tested, but does not reveal its Expert Rating or detailed results.
- Ongoing filter expense: Confirm that the APRF005 is available and compare its current price with your expected replacement frequency.
- Noise and power: Arlec lists 60 dB and 98 W, but the listed figures lack conditions that would make comparisons with other models reliable.
- Controls: Consider whether Grid Connect app features, scheduling, sleep mode and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi requirement suit your setup.
- Warranty: CHOICE lists one year; confirm the applicable warranty terms with the seller or manufacturer before purchase.
Arlec’s air-purifier collection also includes APR010 and APR014, but the collection page does not provide an independent performance comparison. For a meaningful comparison with another purifier, look for independently measured CADR under comparable conditions, filter replacement costs, noise and power measurements, controls, price and warranty.
