GRYPHLINE’s October 6 announcement schedules both the ‘Sanctuary of Ink’ update and the Steam release for October 15, 2026. The Steam store listing currently gives October 14, 2026 as the planned release date. The discrepancy is unresolved: the available announcements do not confirm whether it reflects time-zone or regional display conventions.

Steam is an additional PC storefront, not the game’s first platform release. GRYPHLINE says Arknights: Endfield launched on January 22, 2026, and is available on PS5, PC through the official launcher and Epic Games Store, and iOS and Android. The publisher says cross-platform progression will let existing players continue their adventures on Talos-II through Steam. It has not specified all account-linking steps or region and server qualifications.

What does the ‘Sanctuary of Ink’ update add?
A chapter inside Si’s Painting
The story begins when Si, whom GRYPHLINE describes as a Feranmut Proxy, takes in an injured Endministrator at Yuanyuan Manor Inn. Her home is inside a landscape painting she created. Strange events in the mountains lead into a story connection reaching back a decade, as players explore the painted landscape, encounter creatures formed from objects in the artwork, and face a further trial.
Si’s brush changes the terrain, including creating routes such as a bridge across a gap. The narrative designer AJ described its reach this way: “Try using Si’s ‘Miracle Brush.’ With a gentle stroke across the gap between the cliffs, a bridge rises into the air. Besides, the power of this brush goes far beyond simply opening the way. Every stroke made with it quietly changes the daily lives of the creatures within the painted world, bringing warmth and life back to this long-silent scroll.”
Two Operators: Si and Argent Flow
Si and Argent Flow are scheduled to become available in successive recruitment events during the update. Si’s Inksoul mechanic lets her draw an Inksoul from an enemy; damage and effects applied to the Inksoul transfer to the original enemy. That can let players keep attacking when the source moves out of reach, or use a skill on the Inksoul to interrupt a charging attack. GRYPHLINE says Si strengthens Cryo and Heat teammates.

Indigo Experimental Operation
Contingency Contract returns as Indigo Experimental Operation, a combat challenge built around selectable modifiers that pair advantages with tactical restrictions. For example, one modifier increases combo-skill damage but prevents additional combo skills after every two casts. Some modifiers also add enemy attack patterns. GRYPHLINE says it has improved challenge-setting selection and modifier reuse in response to player feedback.
Yuanyuan’s Blazing Stoves: an inn and farm loop
Yuanyuan’s Blazing Stoves lets players grow crops, raise animals, cook farm produce for guests, earn funds, and expand the farm and inn. Operating themes introduce more recipes. The Auto-Farmer helps with sowing and harvesting, and story progress extends access to Wuling’s farming area.
Quality-of-life changes
The announcement also lists saved equipment loadouts, more precise mouse targeting, and an option to adjust priority when combo skills trigger at the same time. Players will be able to place field equipment directly using facilities or construction materials held in the depot, rather than first carrying them in backpacks.
Music for the new setting
The update’s Eastern fantasy setting informs music that GRYPHLINE says combines color bass, afrobeat, and UK garage. Named contributors include composer Zhai Jinyan, composer Ludvig Forssell, Chinese avant-garde electronic band 8:48, and returning musician Crywolf.

What to know before using the Steam version
The Steam listing describes the game as a free-to-play 3D real-time strategy RPG, identifies Hypergryph as developer and GRYPHLINE as publisher, and lists single-player and in-app purchases. It requires a GRYPHLINE account that supports Steam-account linking. The page also states that the game uses kernel-level Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), which must be removed manually after uninstalling.
