The The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Nintendo Switch Online icon promotion was reported in November 2022; the available information does not confirm a new 2026 release or that those icons can still be claimed. Check the Missions & Rewards panel on your Switch or Switch 2 for the rewards currently offered.
Are the Majora’s Mask icons still available?
NintendoSoup reported on November 3, 2022, that Nintendo of America had announced Nintendo 64-themed icon elements including Majora’s Mask. The announcement described weekly refreshes through December 6, 2022, making this a past promotion—not proof that the items remain available today. Read the 2022 report.

Nintendo’s September 2026 roundup features a different reward set: Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave icon elements, available through October 14 at 5:59 p.m. PT. Nintendo directs users to the console’s Missions & Rewards panel to see what is available. That roundup does not establish whether any Majora’s Mask elements have returned. - Make sure your console is updated and connected to the internet.
- From the HOME Menu, open Nintendo Switch Online and select your user.
- Choose Missions & Rewards, then browse the games and elements shown. Check the listing itself for current availability and any point cost.
- Redeem an available element with Platinum Points, then open Icon Collection to combine elements into an icon.
Nintendo describes three element types: Character, Background, and Frame. Some generic backgrounds and frames may be available without spending points; game-specific items may require points. Elements and themes refresh, so the console listing is the practical source for what can be claimed now. Nintendo Support’s instructions cover the process and available elements.

Membership and Platinum Points requirements
Nintendo Support says you need a Switch or Switch 2, internet access, an active paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, and Platinum Points to redeem applicable elements. The 2022 report used the wording “Expansion Pack subscribers”; that historical description should not be taken as confirmation that an Expansion Pack membership is required for current rewards. Follow the eligibility details shown in the current console panel.
Platinum Points are earned through My Nintendo missions. Some missions have a collection deadline; Nintendo says points may not be granted if you do not collect them within the stated timeframe. Check each mission’s instructions and deadline. Nintendo Support explains points and eligibility.

What happens if your membership ends?
Nintendo says an icon element already redeemed remains in your Icon Collection even after your membership expires. That is different from being able to redeem new elements, which requires an active paid membership.
