In Tom’s Guide’s reported 10-mile test, they stayed secure, including on downhill sections. The trade-off was heat and sweat: the cushions were damp afterward and took about five hours to dry. One reviewer’s run is useful evidence, not a guarantee that the fit will work for every runner.
Did the Beats 360 stay in place during a run?
Tom’s Guide reviewer’s 10-mile run found the headphones stayed put, even downhill. The reviewer also did not find them excessively heavy or bulky, or report undue ear pressure during that test. These are observations from one person’s run, not a controlled comparison or a promise of the same result across different head shapes, paces, or routes. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test

WIRED also identifies workouts as a strength for this over-ear model, but reports some shifting during certain exercises. That suggests fit may depend on the movement: a steady run and a workout involving more varied motion are not necessarily the same test. WIRED rated the headphones 7/10, its editorial judgment rather than a standardized running score. WIRED’s review
How do they handle sweat and heat?
In Tom’s Guide’s run, the ear cushions were damp at the finish and took about five hours to dry. That matters if you run frequently or want to use the headphones again soon after a workout. WIRED likewise notes that over-ear coverage can feel warm, and that the headphones are heavier than earbuds. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test WIRED’s review

Beats rates Beats 360 IPX4 for sweat and water resistance. The company says the rating was established under controlled laboratory conditions for non-water sports and exercise; it is not a waterproof rating, and resistance may decrease with normal wear. Treat IPX4 as a measure of limited resistance, not permission to soak or submerge the headphones. Beats’ launch announcement Beats 360 specifications
What to do about damp cushions
Beats 360 has interchangeable earcup and headband cushions. Tom’s Guide recommends having a second cushion set available so one can dry while the other is in use, and Beats confirms that extra cushion kits are sold separately. Check that a kit is compatible with Beats 360 and confirm current stock and price before buying. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test Beats’ launch announcement

Will they work with glasses?
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer felt pressure where conventional glasses or sunglasses arms met the headphones. Cord-style glasses avoided that problem during the test. If you wear regular glasses, try the fit with your own frames before relying on Beats 360 for a long run; the reported result may not match every frame shape. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test

How do they compare with running earbuds?
The choice is less about a universal winner than the kind of fit you want. Beats 360 is an over-ear option for runners who prefer that style and, in one 10-mile test, remained secure on downhill stretches. Earbuds are smaller and may feel more ventilated; WIRED considers workout earbuds such as Powerbeats Pro 2 preferable for many workouts, while placing Beats 360 among the stronger over-ear choices. That is WIRED’s assessment, not a head-to-head running result established by the 10-mile test. WIRED’s review

- Consider Beats 360 if you want over-ear headphones and are comfortable with the possibility of warm, damp cushions.
- Consider earbuds if ventilation, a smaller fit, or less weight matters more to you.
- If you wear glasses or do workouts with abrupt movement, check comfort and stability in your own conditions rather than assuming the 10-mile result applies.

What does the running evidence not establish?
The available running account is one reviewer’s 10-mile experience, not a controlled comparison or a broad sample of runners. It does not establish long-term performance after repeated sweaty runs, or show that Beats 360 is better for all runners than earbuds. Beats also cautions that resistance can diminish with normal wear, so the IPX4 rating should not be treated as permanent protection. Tom’s Guide’s 10-mile test Beats’ launch announcement
