What “paper-like” means on TCL NXTPAPER
NXTPAPER is a display approach and set of viewing modes, not a synonym for E Ink. For example, TCL identifies the NXTPAPER 11 Gen 2 panel as an IPS LCD. TCL describes paper-like effects and reading modes across the line, but the display remains an LCD rather than an electronic-paper screen. TCL describes the NXTPAPER 14’s Color Paper mode specifically for graphic novels, manga comics, and magazines. Its Ink Paper mode is aimed more at text-heavy reading. That larger canvas may make a comic page easier to view than on a phone, but no controlled page-readability comparison has been published. NXTPAPER 11 Gen 2: a smaller, more affordable tablet option
TCL USA lists the 128GB/8GB NXTPAPER 11 Gen 2 with an 11-inch, 1920 × 1200 IPS LCD at 60 Hz and an 8,000mAh battery. The US-store package listing includes the tablet, a stylus, and a flip case. When that page was accessed in 2026, it showed a $199.49 sale price against a listed regular price of $289.99; those are a dated US-store snapshot, not a guaranteed current or worldwide price. Its screen is smaller than the NXTPAPER 14’s, so it is the more compact tablet choice, not the option with the largest comic-page view. No controlled comparison of how much of a page is readable on either model has been published.

NXTPAPER 70 Pro: comics in a phone-sized format
TechRadar’s 2026 review lists the NXTPAPER 70 Pro with a 6.9-inch, 120 Hz display and reports using Marvel Unlimited to read digital comics. The reviewer found Color Paper mode suitable for comics, but personally preferred the default mode for more vibrant color. That is one reviewer’s experience with this phone, not a universal finding about TCL devices or readers. TCL lists a 7.2-inch display and Max Ink Mode on the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra. The company says that mode provides access to 200 free titles, with additional books available through a bookstore; this is TCL’s stated library count, not an independent measurement. TCL’s 2025 announcement also describes book importing and reading tools. These details support a general phone-reading use case, but TCL’s cited material does not specifically position this model for digital comics. How to choose for your comic-reading habits
- Choose screen size for the way you read. A tablet gives you more room for a page, while a phone is easier to carry and use anywhere. The listed displays range from 6.9 inches on the NXTPAPER 70 Pro to 14.3 inches on the NXTPAPER 14; screen size alone does not prove how readable a particular comic will be.
