Pandora’s US brand-protection guidance says its gold jewelry is marked with a G followed by a number expressing purity in parts per thousand: G585 indicates 14k gold, and G750 indicates 18k gold. Jewelry made before June 2011 may have marks containing numbers only. Pandora’s brand-protection guidance gives these identifiers and the age qualification.

A mark is a useful clue, not proof of authenticity. Pandora warns that copies may carry similar identifiers and says it can guarantee authenticity only for purchases through authorized retailers. Its guidance specifically puts auction-site purchases at the buyer’s risk. If you are evaluating a specific piece, consider the item’s provenance and description as well as its mark.

- Store it separately, such as in a jewelry box or pouch, to help prevent scratches.

No. Pandora’s US sustainability page says that since 2024 all its jewelry is made with 100% recycled silver and gold sourced from certified, responsible refiners. That statement concerns metal sourcing; it does not mean every gold-colored piece has a solid-gold body. A plated piece can have a gold surface layer while its core is another material. - Open the exact item’s current product listing and read its material description; distinguish “gold” from “gold-plated.”
- If the listing says plated, check the stated base material rather than inferring it from the color or collection name.
- For a purported solid-gold piece, check the stated karat and any hallmark, while treating the mark as an identifier rather than authentication on its own.
- For a purchase where authenticity matters, use an authorized retailer and retain the listing and purchase details.
Pandora’s US catalog separates gold-plated and gold categories, but its listings and filters can change. The product-level description is more useful than category counts. A named example is Pandora Shine: Pandora Canada describes that collection as 18k gold-plated sterling silver and distinguishes it from solid 14k gold.
