Sometimes, but there is no universal copy limit or sellout schedule for every Limited Run Games release. Some product pages state a numerical cap; others offer a preorder for a set period. Check the specific listing for its limit, closing date, and current availability. A later appearance in the company’s Vault is possible, but not guaranteed.
What “limited” means for a specific release
The name “Limited Run” alone does not tell you how many copies of a particular game will be made. Limited Run Games says qualifying preorder products are manufactured to demand after the preorder period ends; its support guidance says final manufacturing cannot begin before then. That describes the preorder production process, not a fixed edition-wide quantity.

Individual listings provide the useful evidence. A page may state a copy cap, describe an open preorder that ends on a particular date, or show that the item is sold out. Those details can differ from one release to another.

A stated copy cap
The official Nintendo Switch listing for Limited Run #26, Another World, describes a region-free physical cartridge, states that it is limited to 1,000 copies, and marks it sold out. That is evidence about this edition, not a standard cap for all Limited Run Games products.

A preorder deadline
Other pages describe a limited-time open preorder rather than a copy count. For example, the official PS5 page for I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream gave a closing date of December 7, 2025, while the Switch 2 page for High On Life gave March 1, 2026. Those dates have passed; they illustrate the listing format, not current purchase opportunities.
Will a release sell out?
It can. A capped edition may sell through its available copies, while a timed preorder can close when its stated window ends. Check whether the product page says available or sold out and, for an open preorder, note the listed closing date and time. The evidence does not establish a universal sellout timetable, so the name or the fact that an item is physical is not enough to predict when it will disappear.

| Copy limit | Whether that listing states a numerical cap; do not infer one if it does not. |
| Preorder window | Whether the page gives a closing date and time for the offer. |
| Current page status | Whether the listing currently shows the product as available or sold out. |
| Vault listing | Whether leftover stock is documented there; a past or possible Vault appearance does not promise future stock. |
Could it return in the Vault?
Possibly, but waiting for that is uncertain. In its February 5, 2025 announcement, “Introducing…the LRG Vault!”, Limited Run said it orders extra units after preorder to cover damage, replacements, convention stock, and manufacturing minimums. Items may be added to the Vault after manufacturing is complete if enough leftovers remain. The company also cautioned that Vault stock can be very limited and sell out quickly. This explains why surplus can appear; it is not a restock guarantee for any particular game.

How long production takes—and what that does not mean
Preorder availability and delivery timing are separate questions. Limited Run Games Support gives general estimates of within four months for standard editions and up to ten months for collector editions, depending on complexity. These are fulfillment estimates, not the length of a preorder window. Its status tracker describes stages including design, sampling and approval, production, final assembly, and manufacturing complete; a production-stage update concerns fulfillment, not whether a new order can still be placed.

- Open the exact product page for the platform and edition you want.
- Look for a numeric copy cap or wording that identifies the offer as an open preorder.
- If there is a preorder deadline, check the date and time shown on that listing rather than estimating a sellout date.
- Check the page’s current availability. If it is sold out, look for an official Vault listing, but treat any later stock as uncertain.
- If you are buying a collector edition, check the production status and shipping estimate separately from the purchase window.
Product availability and production status change. The cited product pages are examples, and their historical preorder dates are not live offers; verify the current listing and status tracker before making a decision. No universal production cap, guaranteed restock policy, or resale-price rule is established by these examples.
