For example, KEEN’s women’s Targhee IV page appeared at $135 from $180 in search results, but that is a KEEN.com listing, not evidence of an Amazon deal. Confirm the live Amazon offer itself before relying on a percentage or sale headline.
What to verify in a live listing
- The exact model and whether it is a shoe or mid-height boot.
- The seller, available size, current price, and Prime eligibility.
- The reference price used to calculate the displayed discount and when the offer expires.
Which KEEN Targhee models are waterproof?
KEEN describes both the Targhee IV and Targhee III as waterproof, but they are separate models. The features below are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance tests.

Are KEEN Targhee boots suitable for the French Alps?
A waterproof membrane, cushioning, outsole design, and fit are relevant considerations for hiking, but product descriptions alone cannot show how a boot will perform on a particular Alpine route. The French Alps include varied terrain and conditions; suitability depends on the route, season, weather, load, and the wearer’s needs. Do not treat either Targhee description as proof that the model is appropriate for every Alpine hike.

Fit matters as much as the feature list: try the specific model with the socks you plan to hike in, check whether the forefoot and heel feel secure, and allow for downhill movement without toe impact. A manufacturer’s description of a generous forefoot does not guarantee that the shoe will fit every foot.
What the available information does—and does not—establish
KEEN’s pages establish what the company says about its products and the listed prices at the time accessed. Amazon’s official information establishes the event dates and member access. Neither type of page can establish that a particular person wore a Targhee model in the French Alps, found it comfortable on a specific route, or completed a hike without difficulty.
