Curved monitors can work with PS5, but the curve alone does not make a display compatible or a good console choice. Match the exact monitor’s HDMI input and supported PS5 signal modes to the resolution and features you want. The official specifications available for four Samsung Odyssey G7 variants provide useful examples, but they do not establish a verified top-five ranking or prove how each performs with PS5.
What to check before choosing a curved monitor for PS5
Resolution and refresh rate
PS5 supports 4K output at 120Hz when connected to a compatible screen, and it also supports 1440p output on compatible displays. A monitor’s advertised maximum refresh rate—often a figure aimed at PC use—does not by itself show which signals it accepts from PS5. Check the supported modes for the exact model and HDMI input. Sony’s 4K and 120Hz guidance explains the console-side requirements; PlayStation’s 1440p announcement covers compatible 1440p displays.

HDMI, VRR, and ALLM
Check the input specifications for the precise regional SKU, not just the product family name. For 4K/120Hz, Sony advises using a compatible display and the appropriate HDMI 2.1 port, connecting the console directly, and using the PS5’s included cable or a suitable Ultra High Speed HDMI cable. VRR and ALLM also require compatible display support; check the specific monitor and remember that results can depend on the game. Sony’s display and signal guidance describes these requirements.

Consider the monitor’s size and curvature alongside your seating distance and available desk space. Also check its aspect ratio: a curved screen with an ultrawide resolution may not present a PS5 image across the full panel. That is a compatibility question to verify, not a tested outcome established by the manufacturer specifications below.

How to connect a PS5 and troubleshoot the picture
- Connect the HDMI cable included with the PS5 to the console’s HDMI OUT port and the monitor’s HDMI input. Sony’s PS5 connection instructions describe the basic setup.
- If you want 4K/120Hz, connect to the monitor’s HDMI 2.1 input that supports that signal. Use the included cable or a suitable Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, and connect the PS5 directly rather than through an intermediate device. See Sony’s 4K/120Hz guidance.
- If the expected signal does not appear, check that you selected the compatible monitor input, update the monitor firmware, review the PS5 video-output settings, and confirm the cable and direct connection. Sony provides these checks in its 4K/120Hz troubleshooting guidance.
Why this is not a verified top-five list
The available official specifications cover four variants from one monitor family, not five distinct, comparable models. They also do not establish live prices or stock, a cross-brand shortlist, or independent PS5 testing. A dependable ranked top five would require current model research and checks of each exact regional SKU; the published refresh-rate figures alone cannot support that ranking.
