Arceus Legal has raised $17 million in a round led by Greycroft as it looks to grow from commercial contract review into a broader, AI-supported law firm. The company says it will use the funding to hire attorneys, engineers and AI researchers and add services including negotiation, drafting, employment, privacy and ongoing counsel.
What Arceus announced
Arceus Legal announced the $17 million round on October 1, 2026. Greycroft led it, with Craft Ventures, South Park Commons and other investors participating, according to the company announcement and SiliconANGLE’s report.
The funding is tied to a business-model expansion, not just a wider software rollout. Arceus describes itself as a law firm combining licensed attorneys, AI agents and proprietary software. Its stated hiring plans span legal, engineering and AI research roles as it moves into work beyond commercial contracts.
How its attorney-and-AI model works
Arceus says attorneys handle client matters with support from AI agents and its own software. Its proposed alternative to conventional outside counsel is flat, upfront pricing rather than billing by the hour. The company argues that hourly billing rewards time spent; that is its rationale for the model, not proof that every traditional firm works the same way.

According to SiliconANGLE’s account of the service, Arceus’s CounselOS stores client preferences, agreements and negotiation history. It can draw context from Salesforce, HubSpot and Gmail, route matters to attorneys, and send progress updates through Slack and email. Those details describe the company’s reported workflow; they do not establish how much attorney time is spent on each matter or how frequently attorneys revise AI-assisted work.
For a client, the intended difference is a more predictable fee and a defined turnaround commitment, with attorneys still involved. The comparison with hourly counsel is therefore not simply “AI versus lawyers”: it is a bundled service model whose value depends on the matter’s scope, the quality of legal work and whether the promised speed and price fit the client’s needs.

What the company says about speed, price and traction
Arceus reports an average contract-review time of 3–5 hours and says it guarantees an eight-hour turnaround, with the review free if it misses that guarantee. Its announcement also claims legal spend is more than 70% lower than at traditional law firms, that it has reviewed more than 12,000 contracts, and that its customer base grew fourfold in September 2026. These are company-reported figures; the announcement does not provide an independent study or methodology for the savings comparison.
SiliconANGLE reported that standard contract reviews were listed at $500 on Arceus’s website and that the company primarily focused on commercial agreements such as master service agreements, nondisclosure agreements and vendor deals. The price is a reported website listing, not a durable quote; check the company’s current site for present offerings and terms.

Arceus’s announcement says a contract received in the morning can come back with redlines by afternoon. That is a description of the company’s intended service pace, distinct from independently measured turnaround results. The sources reviewed do not establish audited performance data, independently verified customer growth, or how often attorney review changes AI-generated work.
What “beyond contract work” means
The company says it is expanding into negotiation, drafting, employment matters, privacy and ongoing counsel. SiliconANGLE reported that some clients had already submitted employment and privacy matters. That does not establish that every planned service is broadly available, or that Arceus can handle it in every jurisdiction.

The announcement does not detail the availability, pricing or geographic coverage of each planned practice area, so prospective clients should confirm those specifics directly before relying on the service.

The round gives Arceus capital to hire and pursue a broader range of legal work. It also signals investor interest in a firm that uses software and AI to organize delivery, rather than selling legal technology solely to existing law firms. Funding, however, is not evidence that the model has already delivered the savings or speed the company claims at scale.

For businesses considering Arceus, the practical questions remain matter-specific: which attorney will handle the work, what is included in the flat fee, what happens if scope changes, which jurisdictions are covered, and what the turnaround guarantee’s terms exclude. Those details matter as much as the use of AI when comparing a fixed-fee service with established outside counsel.
