There is no published Stencil Parts spawn rate in the current ARC Raiders sources. Stencil Parts are an Epic basic material used to apply weapon stencils, and they appear as random scavenged loot in Commercial, Residential, and Industrial categories. You can improve your search by covering those categories efficiently; guides currently favor residential-dense areas such as Buried City and Blue Gate, but no controlled comparison proves either map is the definitive best farm.
The practical rule is simple: search the listed loot categories during normal raids, keep every part you find, and check the in-game application prompt before spending them. Costs vary by stencil rarity and are charged for each weapon application, not once for an account-wide unlock.

What Stencil Parts are used for
Stencil Parts are an Epic basic material. The ARC Raiders Wiki item entry describes them as material “Used to apply stencils to weapons.” They are not the stencil designs themselves. A stencil is the cosmetic pattern you learn or obtain; Stencil Parts are the material consumed when that design is applied to a compatible weapon.

Learning a design does not permanently decorate every compatible weapon in your collection. If you apply the same stencil to a second weapon, that second application requires another payment in Stencil Parts. This distinction explains why a player can own a design yet still need to keep farming the material.

- Stencil: the cosmetic design or blueprint you have learned.
- Stencil Parts: the Epic material spent when the design is applied.

AllThingsHow lists 14 weapon stencils in the current cosmetic system. That total describes available designs, not how many Stencil Parts you will receive and not a guarantee that every design works on every weapon. Compatibility and the material charge should be checked on the weapon’s own customization screen.
The item reference lists no crafting or recycling route for Stencil Parts. Treat scavenging as the normal acquisition method unless a later patch adds another source.
Are Stencil Parts guaranteed to spawn?
No. The available item reference and current guides describe Stencil Parts as random loot. None of the reviewed sources publishes a percentage chance, a probability per container, an average number per raid, or a guaranteed building. You should not plan around claims such as “one part every few containers” because no current evidence establishes such a rate.

The ARC Raiders Wiki entry, last modified October 8, 2026, lists loot categories rather than rates. AllThingsHow’s guide, updated October 13, 2026, also calls the drops random. Arc Raiders Hub’s October 8 guide says the best farming spots will be added once they are established. Dot Esports, published October 9, likewise describes random loot in Commercial, Residential, and Industrial points of interest. These sources support a search strategy, not a statistical guarantee.
What the evidence does not establish
- No published spawn percentage for Stencil Parts.
- No guaranteed spawn in a named building, container, or point of interest.
- No verified “one part per X containers” expectation.
- No controlled test proving that one map or route produces more parts than another.
- No official Embark drop-rate table or named developer statement explaining the odds.
Drop behavior can change with patches. The figures and advice in this article reflect information checked on October 13, 2026, and should be rechecked after an update that changes loot tables or reward tracks. A player’s personal streak can be useful for choosing a route, but it is not the same thing as a published rate.
Where to look for Stencil Parts
The item entry organizes Stencil Parts into three loot categories: Commercial, Residential, and Industrial. The sources do not identify a single superior container type within those categories. During a raid, use the categories as a coverage plan rather than repeatedly searching one supposedly lucky room.
| Loot category | How to use it in a raid | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial | Search commercial points of interest while moving through your normal objective route. | Listed as a Stencil Parts loot category; no rate or guaranteed location is published. |
| Residential | Prioritize neighborhoods with many searchable homes when route safety and objectives allow. | Listed as a loot category. Current guides specifically suggest residential-dense areas of Buried City and Blue Gate. |
| Industrial | Include industrial buildings when they are on your extraction path or provide safer additional searches. | Listed as a loot category; no measured comparison against Commercial or Residential is available. |
“Scavenging” is the acquisition method named by the item reference. That means the reliable behavior is to open and search eligible loot during raids, not to wait for a vendor recipe or dismantle another item. The category labels are a way to organize your search, not a promise that every location in that label contains a part.
How category labels help with route planning
Before deploying, identify which sections of the map let you search several eligible locations without a long backtrack. A route that touches Residential and Commercial areas may give you more opportunities than a route that reaches one Industrial building and then requires a dangerous crossing. That is a planning advantage, not proof that one category has a higher item probability.
Rank #2
When inventory space or time is limited, keep the search moving toward extraction. Searching every eligible location you naturally pass is more defensible than abandoning an objective to chase an unverified rumor about one room. If a category is blocked, contested, or far outside the safe path, skip it and continue; there is no guaranteed spawn worth treating as mandatory.
Best farming approach with the evidence available
The most defensible approach is category coverage plus efficient extraction. A guide recommends residential-heavy areas in Buried City and Blue Gate because they offer many residential loot opportunities. That is a practical heuristic, not a tested ranking: the guide does not report controlled runs, sample size, average yield, or a comparison with other maps. Arc Raiders Hub likewise leaves “best farming spots” open until a route is established.
Route choice: Buried City or Blue Gate
| Choice | Why guides mention it | How to interpret the advice |
|---|---|---|
| Buried City | Suggested as a residential-dense area with many potential residential searches. | A reasonable place to try when your objective and extraction plan already take you there; not a guaranteed farm. |
| Blue Gate | Also suggested for dense residential opportunities. | Use the same search-and-extract logic; no source proves it outperforms Buried City. |
| Other routes | Commercial and Industrial categories are also listed in the item reference. | Valid alternatives when they provide safer or more numerous searches for your particular raid. |
If neither location fits the raid, do not force a dangerous detour solely for Stencil Parts. Commercial and Industrial categories are valid parts of the loot table, and a safe route that covers several categories can be more practical than an unverified “best spot.” A route that produces fewer opportunities but ends in a successful extraction may serve your account better than a high-risk loop that loses the material.
A repeatable raid plan
- Set the objective before deployment. Decide whether the raid is primarily for Stencil Parts, another resource, or an extraction objective. A material hunt should not override a safe exit when your inventory is valuable.
- Choose a category-rich path. Favor a route that passes several searchable Commercial, Residential, or Industrial points of interest. Residential-heavy neighborhoods in Buried City or Blue Gate are the current guide suggestion, not a requirement.
- Search systematically. Clear each eligible loot opportunity once, rather than circling a single room expecting a guaranteed respawn. The sources provide no evidence that one building always contains a part.
- Keep the material when found. Stencil Parts are needed for later weapon applications, so avoid discarding them to make room for lower-priority items unless extraction requires a hard inventory decision.
- Extract before overextending. Because no per-raid yield is guaranteed, a lost raid can erase the value of an otherwise successful search. Bank the parts you have before attempting an unnecessary extra loop.
- Record your own results separately from published facts. If you want to compare routes, track several raids under similar conditions. Your notes can inform your play, but they should not be treated as a universal spawn rate.
Solo and squad considerations
The available guides do not publish different Stencil Parts odds for solo and squad play. Choose the format that gives you the best chance of searching and extracting consistently. In a squad, divide attention across nearby eligible locations without assuming that multiple players create additional drops. Solo, shorten the route when danger or travel time makes an extra search unlikely to be worth the exposure. These are risk-management choices, not claims about the loot table.
How many Stencil Parts does each application cost?
AllThingsHow’s guide, updated in 2026, reports the following cost per application. These are not one-time account unlock prices. They are the material amounts charged when you apply a stencil to one compatible weapon.
| Stencil rarity | Reported Stencil Parts per application | What the number means |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 2 | One application to one weapon. |
| Uncommon | 2 | One application to one weapon. |
| Rare | 4 | One application to one weapon. |
| Epic | 7 | One application to one weapon. |
| Legendary | 15 | One application to one weapon. |
Check the confirmation prompt in your current game build before accepting an application. Loot and cosmetic costs are patch-sensitive, and the in-game value takes precedence if it differs from an older guide.
Planning material for multiple weapons
Multiply the displayed cost by the number of weapons you actually intend to customize. For example, applying a Rare stencil to three weapons would require three separate applications at the current reported rate, for a total of 12 parts, not a single four-part unlock. Applying an Epic stencil to two weapons would be 14 parts, while two Legendary applications would be 30. These examples simply multiply the reported per-weapon costs; the sources do not report a bulk discount or account-wide application.
Because Common and Uncommon both use two parts in the current guide, rarity alone does not tell you how many designs you can afford. Count the weapons you plan to decorate and reserve the total before spending on a lower-priority cosmetic.

How to apply a stencil without wasting parts
Exact menu wording can change between builds, but the underlying sequence is consistent: select a compatible weapon, open its customization options, choose a stencil you have learned, and review the material cost before confirming.
- Open your weapon inventory or loadout.
- Select the weapon that should receive the cosmetic design.
- Open the weapon’s customization or stencil option.
- Choose a learned stencil that is compatible with that weapon.
- Read the confirmation panel, including the number of Stencil Parts required.
- Confirm only when the selected weapon and cost are correct.
Because the charge applies to one weapon, preview the design on the intended weapon before confirming. If the prompt shows a different rarity cost than the figures above, use the live prompt and do not assume the guide’s value is still current. Do not treat merely viewing or learning a design as proof that it has been applied; the material is spent at the application step.
Reward Passes and other reported stencil sources
AllThingsHow reports bundles of 3 Stencil Parts at Reward Pass levels 11 and 47. This is a time-sensitive reward-track detail, not a permanent drop rule. Reward contents and level placement can change, so inspect the active pass in your current game version before planning around those bundles.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchThe reported bundles are an alternative to scavenging, but they should not be used to infer a raid rate. A pass level is a scheduled reward; a loot pickup is random. If the live pass does not show the bundle, rely on ordinary scavenging and do not assume the old placement remains active.
Some stencil designs themselves are tied to paid content. The same guide lists five designs on the Frozen Trail Premium Reward Pass and associates Dragon’s Breath with the Collector Set DLC. Those are sources for cosmetic designs, not evidence of a separate Stencil Parts drop rate. Do not assume owning a paid stencil package supplies the application material unless the live game explicitly says so. Paid access and material ownership are separate questions: one concerns how a design is obtained, and the other concerns the parts required to apply it to a weapon.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
Mistaking a design for its material
Owning or learning a stencil does not mean every weapon has it applied. Keep Stencil Parts for the actual application action.
Expecting a guaranteed building
No current source guarantees a spawn in a named building. Search eligible loot categories across a route and treat every find as random.
Calling one map the proven best farm
Buried City and Blue Gate are guide suggestions based on residential density. There is no published yield comparison, sample size, or controlled test proving either is superior.

Using old cost figures without checking the prompt
The reported costs are 2, 2, 4, 7, and 15 by rarity from Common through Legendary. Confirm the live in-game amount before spending parts after a patch.
Detouring so far that extraction becomes unlikely
Since no raid yield is guaranteed, a risky detour can cost more than it gains. Search categories that fit your objective and leave with the parts you have.
Assuming a Reward Pass replaces scavenging
The reported three-part bundles at levels 11 and 47 are limited reward-track entries. They do not establish a repeatable source, and they may move or disappear in a later pass.

Discarding parts because the next application seems far away
The material is used across separate weapon applications. If you expect to customize several weapons, hold the parts until you have checked the total cost and your inventory priorities.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to evaluate a route yourself
If you want a personal answer to “which route works best for me?”, compare routes by practical planning axes rather than pretending to have an official rate.
- Loot-category coverage: How many Commercial, Residential, and Industrial opportunities can you search before extraction?
- Residential density: Does the route provide the concentrated home searches that current guides recommend?
- Travel and danger: How much time and exposure does the route require?
- Extraction reliability: How often can you leave with the parts you found?
- Paid-track dependence: Is the plan based on ordinary scavenging, or does it require a Reward Pass?
- Objective overlap: Can the route complete another task while you search, reducing the need for a separate material-only raid?
For a meaningful personal comparison, record the same information for multiple raids on each route: map, categories searched, number of successful extractions, and parts recovered. Keep the sample and conditions visible in your notes. Without that discipline, a short lucky streak is easy to mistake for a real spawn advantage. If you publish your own results, label them as personal observations and include the number of raids rather than presenting a percentage as an official value.
Spawn-rate FAQ: what can you safely say?
The safest answer to a reader asking for a percentage is that no percentage is currently published. You can say the item is random loot and name the three listed categories. You can also describe Buried City and Blue Gate as guide-recommended residential-heavy areas. You cannot responsibly convert those facts into a claim that one map has a specific chance, an expected number per container, or a guaranteed spawn.
Likewise, a successful run does not prove a route is superior. To establish a meaningful comparison, players would need consistent route definitions, many comparable raids, recorded searches, and a way to account for extraction failures. The current guides do not provide that controlled dataset, so route advice should remain practical and conditional.
