What happened in THE FINALS
Embark reported that some players experienced crashes after Windows update KB5121003, connecting the incident to inpoutx64.sys. That was a specific compatibility issue affecting some players, not proof that every crash or integrity error has the same cause. Embark’s August 17 troubleshooting article documented a temporary manual workaround: stop and delete the driver service, remove the driver file, optionally remove its registry service key, and restart. The instructions are historical, not the current recommendation.

Embark’s later Update 11.7.0 patch note, dated August 27, 2026, says: “Removed the need for uninstalling inpoutx64.sys to play the game, as a crash the file previously caused has been fixed.” For THE FINALS, that later update takes precedence over the August 17 workaround. Install the current game update and retry before considering any driver or registry changes.
What ARC Raiders players should do
The official information available here does not confirm whether ARC Raiders received a fix for an inpoutx64.sys-related crash. Embark’s ARC Raiders support search result could not be verified, so neither an ongoing issue nor a resolution can be stated with confidence. Consult the current ARC Raiders crash and launch troubleshooting page and game-specific patch notes. Avoid deleting a Windows driver because a procedure was published for another Embark game.

If THE FINALS shows a different integrity error
Not every anti-cheat or integrity message points to inpoutx64.sys. Embark’s general System Integrity Violation guidance covers other possible causes, including Windows security settings and interfering software. Follow that separate guidance if the message is a general integrity violation rather than the named driver crash. Its checks include:
- Check Core Isolation, Memory Integrity, and Secure Boot if available.
- Make sure Windows is up to date.
- Close third-party processes that may interfere with gameplay or hardware; a clean boot can help identify background interference.
- If needed, add THE FINALS and Easy Anti-Cheat to your antivirus exceptions.
These general checks do not diagnose inpoutx64.sys specifically. Microsoft’s Windows 11 version 25H2 known-issues page is also not confirmation that the ARC Raiders issue is fixed.

Why you should not use the old driver-removal steps now
The August 17, 2026 THE FINALS troubleshooting article described an earlier workaround, but the August 27 game update says removal is no longer needed to play. Deleting a system driver or its service is a Windows-level change and should not be repeated based on outdated instructions or transferred from one game to another. Do not download a replacement inpoutx64.sys file or use a registry cleaner as a substitute for game-specific official guidance.
