The Aqara Camera Hub G350 combines an indoor pan-and-tilt camera with a Zigbee hub, Matter controller and bridge. Its dual lenses offer a wide 4K view and a narrower 2.5K telephoto view, with tracking and hybrid zoom. The biggest qualification is platform access: Aqara says Apple Home video is capped at 1080p, while Matter camera features vary by ecosystem. It is most compelling for Aqara households that want camera and hub functions in one device; Apple Home-only buyers should weigh the lower resolution and reduced controls.
What the Aqara Camera Hub G350 is
The G350 (model identifiers CH-C14E/CH-C14DE) is an indoor camera with a motorized pan-and-tilt head and two lenses. Aqara also positions it as a Zigbee hub, Matter controller and Matter bridge. That makes it more than a standalone camera, but the usefulness of its hub roles depends on the devices and platforms in your home.

Aqara announced the product on March 17, 2026, describing it as its first Matter-certified camera. That is the manufacturer’s claim; camera functions available through Matter still depend on each platform’s implementation.

How well do the two lenses cover a room?
Aqara specifies a wide-angle lens for room coverage and a telephoto lens for a tighter view. Their different fields of view give the camera two useful perspectives, rather than one lens attempting to do everything with digital zoom.
#1 Best Overall
- 4K Ultra HD Dual-Lens Camera & 9X Hybrid Zoom:The G350 indoor camera features a dual-camera system that captures every detail. A 133° wide-angle 4K lens and 2.5K HD telephoto lens combines to deliver sweeping panoramic views and zoomed details. With 9X hybrid zoom, you can magnify specific areas without losing clarity using fixed tap shortcut, zoom dial, dragbox or finger spread. The f/1.6 large aperture and 940nm invisible infrared LEDs ensure clear night vision with no conspicuous red glow.
- AI Auto & Close-Up Tracking: The AI auto-tracking feature intelligently identifies and follows the movement of people or pets, keeping them framed at the center of the view. With close-up tracking, our indoor security camera goes beyong simply follow a subject but tracks with close-up capture in an appropriate zoom level. Its pan/tilt speed automatically slows down when zooming in, ensuring stable and precise framing of distant close-ups while completely eliminating motion blur. Note: This feature is only configurable in the Aqara Home app.
- Smarter Image & Sound Local AI Detections: Face, Pet, Gesture & Sound Recognition. Smart and private by design—all AI processing happens locally on the device, with no cloud upload. Faster response, better privacy. G350 wifi camera detects faces, pets, and 6 specific sounds (baby crying, coughing, dog barking, etc.). Its exclusive static & dynamic gesture recognition lets you trigger scenes with a "OK" sign or a simple wave. Real-time alerts for baby crying and more keep you informed, right when it matters.
- Matter Bridge & Zigbee Hub : As a hub, it supports both the Aqara Zigbee (third-party Zigbee devices are not supported) and Thread dual protocols, and can connect up to 80 Aqara Zigbee sub-devices, or 40 Aqara Zigbee sub-devices plus 40 Thread sub-devices. This Wi-Fi security camera can integrate third-party Matter devices into the Aqara Home app and bridge existing Aqara devices to Matter-compatible platforms such as Apple Home, SmartThings, Alexa, and Google Home. *Matter camera device type support has been introduced at the specification level. Platform-level adoption remains limited and may vary by ecosystem.
- 360° Pan-Tilt, with Cruise & Preset Angles: See it. Tap it. See it closer. Get a full panoramic view of your room and instantly zoom in on any detail with a single tap. Want the home camera to watch specific areas automatically? Schedule cruises. Have go-to angles? Save them as presets for one-tap viewing. Total control, zero hassle. *Please use the Aqara home app to unlock full PTZ functionality.
| Lens | Resolution | Diagonal field of view | Focal length |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wide-angle | 3840 × 2160 (4K) | 133° | 2.8 mm |
| Telephoto | 2560 × 1440 | 43° | 8 mm |
Aqara lists an f/1.6 aperture, H.264 video and a maximum frame rate of 20 fps. Its 9x hybrid zoom combines the two lenses, according to the company; that figure is a specification, not a guarantee of equivalent detail at every zoom level. The manual recommends placing the camera at least 10 feet (3 m) from the area being monitored for best telephoto focus.
Pan, tilt and tracking
The camera can pan and tilt to follow activity, and Aqara promotes automatic tracking for people and pets. This can help when a subject moves beyond the fixed view, though it does not make tracking infallible or ensure that every moment will be framed well. MacRumors noted that movement during pans or zooms can affect image clarity.
Rank #2
- AI Facial, Pet and Gesture Recognition: Ready to experience a better smart home? Imagine your camera can recognize your face and welcome you when you come home or recognize strangers and send out notifications to warn you. You can also trigger pre-set actions with five different gestures, which is a new and unique feature that is not available in similar products of other brands.
- 2K 1296p Resolution & 360° Viewing Angle: The Camera Hub G3 incorporates a high-resolution 2304 x 1296 pixel sensor that results in better image quality with more details.* In HomeKit Secure Video mode, the camera records in Full HD 1080p due to the current limitations of HomeKit technology. 110° wide-angle lens coupled with the Pan and Tilt motors provides up to 340° rotation angle, supports automatic cruising, and face and pet recognition. No more Blind Areas in your home.
- Local Control Center: As a Zigbee 3.0 hub, it can connect up to 128 Aqara Zigbee child-devices and allow for seamless integration across Aqara’s sensors and home automation devices such as home guard, data reporting and smart control. HomeKit, Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT are supported. (Note: The IR function is not currently supported by HomeKit. Instead, you can try using Aqara Home or Google Home, as well as triggering the Aqara Home scenes via Siri Shortcuts or other voice assistants.)
- Local Infrared Control & 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi: The Camera Hub G3 has a built-in IR controller that can make your existing infrared-compatible devices smart and support local automations. All the IR automations are local and will run even if there is no internet connection. Moreover, no more worrying about network type compatibility: the Camera Hub G3 supports 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, the most popular Wi-Fi frequencies, and uses them to connect your Aqara child devices to the network. Zigbee2MQTT and comparable third-party USB dongles are not officially supported by Aqara. Full product functionality may be limited or unavailable.
- We Care About Your Privacy: The G3 Camera Hub is certified by Amazon, Apple and Google to meet all the security standards of the system of your choice. No need to worry about privacy leakage problems. It also has a hardware privacy protection mode that can be turned on manually or automatically. This mode can be easily identified by a cute sleepy face. Moreover, the data streams from the camera are encrypted and the latest Wi-Fi security standard WPA3 is supported to further protect your data.
For a stationary view of a whole room, the wide lens is the natural starting point. Tracking and the telephoto view are more useful when you want the camera to follow activity or inspect a narrower part of the scene. Consider how much motion occurs in the monitored area and whether a moving camera is desirable there.

Apple Home and Matter compatibility: what you actually get
Apple Home
Aqara states that video shown in Apple Home is limited to 1080p, and can be lower when network conditions are poor. That is below the wide lens’s advertised 4K resolution. Aqara also lists HomeKit Secure Video support, which requires an iCloud+ plan and an Apple Home hub. Independent reviews describe access to fewer camera features through Apple Home than through Aqara’s own app, so Apple users should judge the camera by the experience in their chosen app, not only by its lens specifications.

The G100 has some of the best third-party ecosystem support on the market, it can stream to Google, Alexa compatible smart displays, and even Home Assistant via the RTSP protocol, making it easier to interact with visitors or check in on loved ones.
- Flexible Storage Methods: Record 24/7 with a microSD (up to 512GB, not included) or NAS. Time-lapse mode compresses 24-hours of footage to 15-second clips (wired connection and microSD card required). Automatically store detected events with end-to-end encryption in the cloud with a HomeGuardian subscription, ensuring protection against data theft and guaranteeing your privacy at home.
In May 2026, 9to5Mac reported that adding the G350 to Apple Home through Matter exposed it as a bridge rather than exposing the camera feed; HomeKit Secure Video remained the route for video at that time. Platform support can change with software updates. Aqara’s app remains important for access to more of the camera’s functions.
Matter and other platforms
Aqara says the camera supports live view, two-way audio and alerts in Matter-enabled ecosystems, while also cautioning that camera integration depends on each platform’s development status. Do not assume that every Matter platform exposes the same functions or controls. Aqara separately describes Home Assistant integration via RTSP streaming; that does not establish full feature parity with the Aqara app.

Recording, storage and privacy
The G350 can record locally to a microSD card, which is not included. Aqara supports Class 10 or faster cards up to 512 GB and says continuous 24/7 recording is available. The company also describes NAS backup and encrypted cloud storage; cloud and AI features may have separate subscription terms, and pricing can vary by region and change over time.
Aqara describes a physical privacy mode that retracts the lens when the camera is turned off. This is a visible way to block the camera’s view; it is distinct from account, network or cloud security and should not be read as a guarantee about those systems.

Who should consider the G350?
Aqara households
If you already use Aqara devices, the built-in Zigbee and Matter hub roles may help consolidate equipment. The combination of local recording, two lens views and tracking is most relevant if you will use those functions rather than treating the G350 as a basic fixed camera.
Apple Home-first buyers
Check whether 1080p video and reduced controls in Apple Home meet your needs. HomeKit Secure Video also depends on iCloud+ and an Apple Home hub. If you want the full set of camera controls, expect to use Aqara’s app as well.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minutePeople comparing indoor cameras
Compare the resolution and controls available in your chosen app, not just the highest lens specification. Also consider recording method and any recurring cloud cost, tracking behavior, privacy controls, hub functions, indoor-only placement and the extra adapter, card or mount your setup may require. TechRadar’s April 2026 UK review characterized the interface as complex and the product as relatively expensive compared with some basic indoor cameras; that price observation is specific to that review’s UK context, not a current global price comparison. MacRumors reviewer Juli Clover called it her favorite indoor security camera tested to that point, while disclosing that Aqara supplied the review unit and no other compensation. That is an individual assessment, not an objective ranking.
