What wick-a11y is
wick-a11y is a free, MIT-licensed Cypress plugin for configurable accessibility analysis against WCAG 2.2 levels A through AAA. It uses axe-core and cypress-axe, adding the custom cy.checkAccessibility() command to Cypress tests. Checks can be selected by impact level, rule, and guideline, with separate choices for failing tests or showing warnings. In the Cypress runner, affected DOM elements can receive color-coded boxes and violation details can appear in tooltips. The plugin creates detailed or basic severity-based HTML reports with violation information and fix guidance; reports support keyboard navigation and responsive layouts. Tabular terminal reports provide another view of violations and guidance. Audible results are available, but voice feedback is disabled by default and works only in the Cypress runner. Scanning covers a page and only DOM elements visible in the browser viewport. Each test allows one analysis. Version 3.0.0 or later supports Cypress 15.10.0 and newer; older Cypress versions require earlier wick-a11y releases. Installation uses npm install wick-a11y --save-dev.
