Virtual CD
What Virtual CD is
Virtual CD creates images of optical media so they can be used without the physical disc. The Windows software supports CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVD virtualization and virtual burning, with up to 23 virtual drives. Images can be stored centrally or on a computer and accessed by other computers on a network. The Fileserver edition can provide up to 5865 CDs/DVDs over a network without client installation; Terminalserver provides up to 23 virtual drives per session. Its virtual burner works with Windows applications like a physical optical burner. Virtual CDs can be password protected and encrypted; the maker’s help page identifies AES 256 encryption. The product includes an API for external programs and lets users add programs to Quick Launch and CD Management, passing command-line arguments when they run. Virtual CD 10 can convert audio files to MP3 and OGG Vorbis. Supported Windows versions range from Windows 11 to XP, in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. The full version costs 34.95 USD once, and a 30-day trial is available.
