What VidMasta is

VidMasta is a free desktop application for finding information about, previewing, watching, and downloading movie and television titles shared online. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later. Searches can filter by title name, release date, genre, rating, country, and language. Discovery screens show popular movie and TV lists, summaries, trailers, release dates, and ratings. Download choices include ANY, HQ, DVD, 720 HD, and 1080 HD, with listed output formats of TV, DVD, 720p, and 1080i/p and maximum quality of 1080p. The app can locate and download subtitles. Users can set result counts, minimum and maximum video file sizes, and permitted extensions. The maker describes IP filtering, network encryption, and proxy attempts for sites supplying download links, plus warnings for untrustworthy links. Downloaded video is not shared or seeded after completion. Windows XP and newer can use PeerBlock integration; troubleshooting recommends VLC for streaming problems.
