Velorn is a free, open-source desktop AI video workstation for Linux, macOS, and Windows. It organizes planning, generation, asset management, timeline editing, captions, effects, and export in project-based workspaces built around ComfyUI workflows. Generation can use local ComfyUI, cloud or partner workflows, custom workflows, or a combination. Director Mode provides guided workflows for music videos, UGC creator ads, business ads, and an experimental short-film path marked very beta. The multi-track timeline supports trimming, moving clips, transitions, fades, text and visual effects, speed controls, proxy and cache tools, and video export. Automatic captions are supported. A local MCP server exposes more than 100 tools for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor-compatible tools, and other MCP clients. Integrations include ComfyUI, Pexels, and LM Studio for the local LLM Assistant. Current generation workflows require separately installed ComfyUI on the same computer, although editing and export work without it. Local requirements vary, and heavy video workflows may need 24 GB or more of VRAM. The repository uses GPL-3.0.
